What it is: The seven-seat GLS-Class SUV has standard all-wheel drive, three rows of seats and three available engines: two turbocharged V-8s and a turbocharged V-6. As with other Mercedes, the top-shelf version of the GLS-Class is a performance-oriented AMG edition, the AMG GLS 63. Competitors include the Audi Q7, Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX80 and Lexus LX 570.
Available for the GLS 450 and GLS 550, a new Grand Edition includes diamond-quilted Nappa leather upholstery, a Nappa leather dashboard, open-pore brown ash trim, ambient lighting and brown velour floormats. Exterior Grand Edition cues include special badges and two-tone wheels – 20 inches on the GLS 450 and 21 inches on the GLS 550.
