    I've had this vehicle for a couple of months and am not

    I've had this vehicle for a couple of months and am not at all impressed with it. Acceleration is very clunky, especially from a stop and going from 1st to 2nd gear. The start/stop feature is annoying, it works sometimes, sometimes not and cannot be disabled even in manual mode. There is considerable turbo lag at all speeds but once it kicks in, the car is very quick. This is okay in a straight line but is really hard to deal with when you're navigating traffic. The manual shifting improves performance but the shifter is not well designed for manual use (paddle shifters would be better) and shifting from 1st to 2nd is very rough but improves as you move up in gears. Handling is very soft and feels sloppy. I realize this is due to trying for a more "luxury" ride but it makes the car feel unresponsive and certainly makes it less fun to drive. I believe that the plug in hybrid version, which has much more power, still has the same suspension system which makes me think it would be borderline unsafe to drive aggressively because the car doesn't feel connected to the road. At one point Volvo offered Polestar tuning but since they split that is no longer available. Some of these problems might be solved with better tuning. There are other very weird features that I really don't know what Volvo was thinking. The controls for the power roof are simply dumb, I have messed with it several times and gave up on using it as a feature at all. Plus the sunroof is a shade, not solid so there is a lot of ambient light that comes through the roof. The infotainment system is not great (from what I've heard the new system in 2026 isn't a big improvement). It is fairly intuitive but takes a while to get used to it. Also the stereo in the "plus" model is very basic, I would expect much better from a "luxury brand". Also, you cannot see any of your fluid levels! I had to refill the wiper fluid a few days after buying the car because it was empty (the dealership checklist was clearly not done correctly) and it is just a cap, the engine is sealed so you can't see anything. It is clearly designed to force you to do all maintenance through a service shop which is annoying. As a side note, there is supposed to be an indicator light when the fluid level is low but it never came on. All in all, the 2025 XC60 is simply okay. I have traditionally kept vehicles for about 10 years but I doubt I'll still be driving this vehicle in 3 years.

    I have recently purchased a Volvo xc60.

    I have recently purchased a Volvo xc60. I like the car itself, however the google based "infotainment" system is an absolute disaster. You'd have to be a professor of computer science to figure out what's going on. Oh, wait, I am a professor of computer science and I still haven't figured it out. Every day is an adventure in failed user interfaces. Today, the key fob does not work as expected, the connection to my phone fails, the back wipers turn on, and I am forced to try one idea after another to find today's trick to turn them off. The list is endless.

    Great first experience with a Volvo.

    Great first experience with a Volvo. We were looking for car that could possibly be a single car that would suit our needs moving into retirement. This car appears to check all the boxes for safety, reliability, economy and luxury. We need a mid dive suv that will give us comfort on longer trips as well as the economy of the smaller 4 cylinder without compromising power as provided by the turbo. The warranty and manufacturers maintenance plan are a benefit as well.

    I have driven Volvos for a very long time.

    I have driven Volvos for a very long time. My 2002 V70XC was my absolute favorite. I just donated it. My first impression was the dealer and I went with one closest to my home. My big mistake. THE CAR - for an SUV the seats sit very low and are not very adjustable. The gear shift functionality is very difficult to get used to - and all the alarms. Being a mechanical engineer, I liked, no, loved the older Volvos for their functionality and interior space. The XC60 has very little cargo space. There are too many bells and whistles you need to QR scan the visor for the manual! The mpg are pitiful - I am getting maybe 15 mpg, with little pick up- the 4 liter engine is not as good as the predecessors. I was worried about the no "cold weather package" - all volvos anywhere have the same battery and the sales guy had no idea what cold cranking meant. HOWEVER, I must say when we had an ice storm and the car was a solid piece of ice the doors opened and the car started right up. BUT it did take 30 minutes + to warm up the windshield to get rid of the ice. AND my hands were so cold trying to scrape the ice off - they were too cold for the display to read my touch! The sales rep was so proud of the heated windshield wipers (?) -I prefer being able to raise the wipers during a snow storm. Here you have to put the wipers in maintenance mode and then move them out. Too many steps to get basics done (and have warm hands). I also can't stand the smudged touch screen from all the swiping and touching. Just looks dirty. BTW don't buy accessories from the dealer. I wanted rails for the top and they were asking $800 list but I could get them for $500. You can buy them from amazon or Volvo direct for $200. It's a Volvo and I have high expectations. I think it is an expensive car and I have not owned it long enough to determine value.
