My Car died out in the morning and decided to go find a replacement. Went to Jack Schmidt in Wood River IL and met a salesperson named Kadin. I told him exactly what I was looking for and my price I was willing to pay. Kadin came out with 2- vehicles I might be interested in. I drove 2-vehicles he selected. I ended up buying 1 of them. Kadin gave me the best service that as a customer could expect. He went thru everything and it only took about 2.5-3 hours total from driving the vehicle to walking away with what I wanted. 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV review
Performance is amazing...instant acceleration to 60mph. The controls require a steep learning curve. Still trying to figure all the icons out. Could be much easier if they actually allowed several screens to access the same control where the definition easily fits in more than one place...so we don't have to search to find it. Charging time on 120 is unacceptable. 56 hours to charge up from 20%.

On Friday, August 7, 2026, I went to Weber Chevrolet to find a new vehicle. I went, specifically to learn about the Chevrolet Equinox electric vehicle (EV). I entered the dealership and told the receptionist what I was looking for. She directed me toward Rob Joiner. I learned he was the Weber’s specialist in the Equinox EV. Rob was very friendly and definitely knew the Equinox EV. He answered all my questions quickly and completely. My goal coming to Weber was to be more ready to purchase an Equinox EV when I left Weber than before I arrived. Rob definitely helped me to achieve that goal. Rob helped me learn as much as I could about the new vehicle, informing me of all the options and differences between the LT1 and LT2. He gave me the time to examine the features sheet for each vehicle to determine which one fit me best. Rob explained anything I had questions about between the lists. He was very patient while allowing me to explore which vehicle was best for me. I felt no pressure to hurry up and make a decision. He offered me to take a test drive but I declined. I left with an appointment to return the following Monday. On Monday I took a test drive and got a sense of how the vehicle operates. I had a hybrid. The EV was a step up. I had pretty much decided to lease the Equinox EV before I returned Monday. Rob helped me with everything I needed accomplish that. He made it clear that I could call him or visit him at Weber with any questions I had which would make me better understand the vehicle. 2023 Nissan ARIYA review
I will be really critical of "Youtube reviewers", which often focus on what a car feels within a a day, week, or month and don't project their analysis beyond that. For instance recommending a Hyundai with several critical ongoing recalls over a Toyota with a clean slate. $5k difference means nothing if the vehicle is not working and the manufacturer is shady about it. Nissan is guilty of CVTs and now Turbo issues, but the Leaf is none of that, and not the Ariya. Time has proven that the Ariya is a more reliable vehicle than the Ioniq 5 (search for ICCU) and ID.4( choose your poison). Do not get me started on Teslas, which somehow get a free pass on reliability. The car was too expensive new, yet why would anyone buy a new EV? You lease it. In the US, leasing was the only way to obtain government subsidies anyway for Japanese made cars. Now as a used EV, is quite affordable, the charging is on par with most new Japanese EVs (Soltera, CH-R, BZ) as 20%-80% in "nearly 30mins" does not look bad anymore if it comes from Toyota. I bought a 2023 Engage+ E-4orce on April 2025 and have no complaints. I bought it for $21K with under 5k miles, instead of a used Corolla. Try the Ariya before you shop for a new ICE compact sedan, and definitively before buying any used or new EVs.

Great experience with the Salesman, but the van was disgustingly filthy. Smelled of grease and headliner was heavily stained with something. Of the 5 identical vans we were looking at, it was the most expensive and not even the lowest mileage. This vehicle was not ready to be seen by potential buyers.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV review
I have had a very positive experience so far. I had some small issues but nothing major. They were fixed fairly quickly by the dealer. The mileage does drop drastically in the winter, but I knew that before purchasing it. It is roomy inside, and drives great.

2023 Audi Q4 e-tron review
I recently leased a 2024 Quattro premium plus 55. I have not had the severe issues others mention in reviews, but agree that the electronics and software are sometimes frustrating. It drives nicely for an SUV (I prefer driving small cars). I don’t like the behavior of the brakes. You have to really step on them for the final 5 mph to complete stop — they are not linear. I know VW knows how to do brakes in an EV, because the e-Golf is fantastic. Also annoying are the steering wheel buttons — again, big downgrade from the e-Golf. Overall, happy with the great lease deal I got.

2024 Nissan ARIYA review
Admittedly, have not had this vehicle for very long, but I am very impressed. And I am difficult to impress. Previous vehicle was an ‘18 RAM 1500 with V8 Hemi. It was fun, powerful, loud, and I enjoyed sitting up high. Two weeks in the Ariya, and I don’t miss it. I have the AWD version, and this thing moves at the frequency I think. I mean, you see a space in traffic you want to get to, check blind spots and BAM, you’re there. Handling is crisp and tight, remaining so at highway speeds. Bumps handled like a luxury mobile of 2X the cost. Cabin is quiet, spacious, and does not feel cheap. Tons of features, power everything. Screen bootup is rapid and has my tunes going by the time I’m buckled in and have my glasses switched to my sunglasses. Heads up display tells everything I need, and well positioned. Charging so far has not been an issue in the least. Installed a ChargePoint charger in my garage, and it’s easily setup and controlled through their app, so it charges on schedule according to my utility provider’s preferred charge time, giving me a break on the electricity used to charge it. All told, I’ve spent $6 over 2 weeks and 500 miles. Truck would have cost me a tank, or 30 gallons of gas for same distance.

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV review
Performance is amazing...instant acceleration to 60mph. The controls require a steep learning curve. Still trying to figure all the icons out. Could be much easier if they actually allowed several screens to access the same control where the definition easily fits in more than one place...so we don't have to search to find it. Charging time on 120 is unacceptable. 56 hours to charge up from 20%.

I have had a very positive experience so far. I had some small issues but nothing major. They were fixed fairly quickly by the dealer. The mileage does drop drastically in the winter, but I knew that before purchasing it. It is roomy inside, and drives great.

2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV review
2026 Chevy Blazer EV is as reliable as my 2018 Chevy Colorado, never give me any hiccup. Blazer is superior than my 2020 Chevy Bolt EV in performance as well as the looks. I recommend every red blooded American to give this car a test drive and you will be blasted by it's performance. I love the regenerative braking feature that I barely use my brake and saving the brake pads as well as the environment. Especially in this high price gasoline world today.

2015 Nissan Leaf review
Ok so don't let the miles or lack of engin noise scare you and you'll be fine! Electric vehicles are different from a 2015 chevy spark that cost $300 per tire, $70 oil change and $15 gas in week to $3-5 to fill up if want to pay at walmart. Charges from normal 110v socket over night. Its a trade higher insurance avg 23% and plate cost vs oil and gas costs. It should balance out plus way more fun to drive knowing gas is not a factor and your wall plug is always in trunk!

2023 Toyota bZ4X review
What I do not like Remote start: There is no option just to start the HVAC, you have to start the car. The car needs to be locked. Why not combine 2 functions - lock first, then start HVAC. After getting into the car and starting, a number of features do not work and need manual intervention: Auto setting for heated seats and steering wheel Phone no longer connects. Manual intervention needed to connect CarPlay (several taps) I have not been able to get scheduled HVAC going from the app. Multi-Information display is almost obstructed by steering wheel. And I am 6’2”. Steering-wheel buttons are crowded. Setting, canceling, resuming buttons are close together and I need to look at the wheel to find the right button. Audio volume is much easier with a knob… I had to restrict the upper range of the lift gate opening so it would not hit the garage door. Now I hit my head on the lift gate edge if I am not careful. My car came with only 1 key fob. Several months later still no 2nd fob. Heat takes a long time to come on. Lack of recording cameras, like Tesla. Knob to put in Drive or Reverse. Easy to select the wrong direction. Pushbuttons are easier. Only randomly is CarPlay activated when starting car. I only want Carplay. What I like Auto parking brake. Seats are comfortable. Easy to drive the car smoothly. Comfortable. Auto heated seats and steering wheel. Qi wireless charger Wireless CarPlay (will not buy a car without it) Rubber car mats. Overall comments: I like the car, but the interfaces in the Hyundai Kona Electric I had previously were better.

2021 Tesla Model Y review
The moment I got the demo car onto the highway, I thought to myself, “I LOVE this car!” Which rarely happens. I test drove both the Model 3 and Model Y in snowy conditions, and had not a single bout of fear that I may lose control. A few weeks ago, when we were getting a winter blizzard, I was driving my Mother home from Boulder. It was snowing about 2” -3” per hour, people were spinning out all over the place. 2022 Audi e-tron review
The Car is just great, but potential buyers beware. One problem is that there is no permanent roof sunshade. I purchased a Porche Taycan sunshade that stays in place with 12 clips, since they are sister vehicles. Living in Florida, the glass roof gets beyond hot and cooks the top of your head. Another issue is the chargeable miles. At 80% charge I get 245 "electric" miles, and at 100% I get just about 300 "electric" miles. Using the a/c, the radio, or head lights will eat up about 45 miles easily. Tune ups are expensive considering there is no engine. My first major tune up this year was $1,600, a lot more than expected. 4 year warranty is up in June, Audi wants $9,300 for 4 more years or 48K miles. I went with a third party insurer for 5 years/30K miles for $4,300. Too bad Audi doesn't have more faith in the quality of their vehicles.
