My family currently owns two 2009 Kia Rondos. I liked the first one so much that when it was time to get another car, I opted for more of the same. The safety features, Consumer Reports review and low price in class were what drew my attention to the 2009 Kia Rondo. I like how it's a mini minivan -- it's not low to the ground, so I can see over some of the other cars on the road (great for when you're in traffic). It's relatively small, so it's easily maneuverable -- parallel parking is a breeze. It's got standard features -- nothing really luxurious about it. Nevertheless, I really enjoy driving and riding in it. It's comfortable and fun.
Had a wonderful experience at LW. When I asked Zach if the car had any mechanical issues, he said "we stand behind our cars", and LW did not disappoint. I highly recommend, and will consider a future car purchase at this locally owned dealership.
Excellent value for money

This is a reliable family car if you're looking to downsize from a minivan. We were looking for a 7-seater that doesn't look like a bus and burns less gas. This car fitted the bill perfectly. In fact, there wasn't anything comparable, because Mazda 5 had only 6 seats.
We've had it for 8 years and had no major issues with it. The only things I would highlight:
- Fuel efficiency isn't nearly as good as they advertised, although it was still much better than our previous Dodge Caravan. In the hilly Vancouver it averaged around 12l/100km
- We had to replace the front rotors twice and rear ones once. Plus both front and rear rotors had to be resurfaced once. This could be because we live on a hill and it rains a lot (the rotors buckle in such conditions, I was told)
- In the last few years the engine has developed a faint ping/knock when going uphill. It largely goes away with premium gas, but I fear after 8 years and 140,000 km it's a sign it's time to look for a new car.
Abdul is the man to see. Extremely honest about the condition of the trucks and helped me out a lot great place to buy a car.

MY Kia is ok but not the best. I starting to not trust the car to get me back home. It seem to want to power off at t imes and no one knows why; maybe the engin problem I read about in this fourm. I'm on the road in the wee hours and this cars issues has me unsettled.
The car does hadnle well, but within a month of me owning it all the plastc stuff inside started breaking, the eyeglass holder, the button that turn on the inside lights and one day a screw just fell out of sunvisor,
It's an expensive cheap car with issues. I like the little card but I don't like problems and the is becoming a problem.
This is the way car buying should be! No pressure, lots of information, no “let me talk to my manager” games. Sarah was professional and answered all our questions, even the ones we forgot to ask! The cars I looked at were terrific, and all had warranties on the engine and drive train, low mileage, and great prices. I bought a great car, and I think I’ve found my one-stop car shop!

I bought this used in 2011. It has leather interior, premium sound, sunroof, 3rd row seat... nice vehicle! I don't know why KIA stopped making them. I have a trailer hitch added to mine to transport items and bring yard waste to the landfill. It's a super, versatile car... love it.
The staff at Byers made purchasing a used car easy and efficient. Their online ad on Cars.com was accurate and thorough and the transaction went seamlessly. Thanks to everyone there for a very positive experience! Definitely one of the best of many cars I've purchased over the years.

Wish Kia would reintroduce the Rondo

Rented an '09 LX in Phoenix and loved it! 6'7" tall and I fit very comfortably. Have now owned a 2007 EX V6 for 3 years. Tons of pep. Averaging 22 mpg. Heated leather. Great stereo. Handles like a sports car. Just wish dome light would work when opening back hatch. I'd buy a brandy new one if they came back. Love this little vehicle!
I bought a 2015 Chrysler 300 S . I had a problem with the smart key. They owner, Johnny Dangerfield, solved the problem with my Smart Key and also gave me an extra Smart Key , free of charge. My entire experience there was great.
I really enjoy driving this car.

This car met all of my needs and then some. I enjoy driving it around, everything works great and the reviews I found online were very true to what I need. The only thing I have wondered is, is it a car, is it a van or is it an SUV? It looks to me more like a mutt to me, it is like a 3 in 1 vehicle.
Dealt with this CarMax dealer over the phone and email. Tried to negotiate a price based on other dealers in the area for the same vehicle and was told that the price listed was the price you pay!
Perfect all around family vehicle

Smaller than a minivan, larger than a hatchback, the Rondo is the right size for a family of 4. Plenty of space seats up, massive capacity when folded down. I even tow a small trailer with mine with no issues.
I am at 100,000 miles with no major issues. Injectors were replaced under warranty a while back, but that was painless and free.
Due to the salt around here, I am seeing some rust pop up, especially on the front subframe. Not bad for the year and mileage in PA though.
I received a great deal on both vehicles purchased at Culpepper Auto. It was so nice to shop for a vehicle and have the salesman answer my questions without getting that "pushy car dealer" feeling. I was so pleased with my 1st purchase I went back for my 2nd and couldn't be happier. Thanks and I'll be back for the next one!

Inexpensive. Durable. Dependable. Seats 6-7. Plenty of power. Runs good highway mileage. Hauls anything I need. Reasonably easy to work on, if you like wrenching. Thinking of getting a second one.
We went into the Mullinax Ford Apopka location after visiting numerous Ford dealers in the Central Florida area. Our sales consultant Jose Burgos listened to our request and for found that specific vehicle we wanted with little time wasted, after other dealers couldn’t. Jose went above and beyond working with us and as my wife said, this has the best experience we ever had in purchasing a new vehicle. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a vehicle, you’ll want to go to Mullinax Ford in Apopka and ask for request Jose!
Best car ever owned

Bought car in Tucson from Kia with 20k. Now has 113k on it. Other than tires, battery and a couple of bulbs, no problems. Just having some wheel bearing work to do but that's nothing as the car was driven hard. Now in Minnesota and handles ok in medium snow.
Plan on buying a new or used car. Go see Dave Doucette at Kia in Crystal River. He is a nice guy and easy to talk too. I have known him for years. Has a great personality and I’m sure he will find what your looking for.
Solid reliable versatile wagon
by Tom from Dallas Texas
June 27, 2017
We purchased this wagon pre-owned, one year old. We have owned it for seven years and have used it as a family vehicle and also my daughter used it later to commute to college. It performed well from the rainy weather of the Northwest to the heat of Dallas summers. AC is solid, no problems with an major systems at all. The Rondo is a great small family vehicle with the ability to seat five or seven and the option to use the hatchback for larger items when needed. We loved our little run run Rondo.
I always enjoy getting my oil changed here. The people are so friendly and they do a wonderful job!
5 years and the Rondo is still great.

In 2010 I bought a 2007 Rondo with 36k miles on it.
Five years later -- and several ROUND TRIP drives from NJ to SW Florida the Rondo is flawless. It has adequate power (2.4 liter), LOADS of carrying space, decent mileage (29 highway), a comfortable driving position and is the most space efficient and PRACTICAL car I've ever owned. I've done nothing more than routine maintenance (oil, tires, battery) and not driven it like a fool. It's been great. And since it has a timing CHAIN not a belt, no expensive repair coming up. Kia still sells the car worldwide as the Rondo/Carens and it's still a big seller in Canada. I guess Kia decided to drop it in the US because it would be directly competing with their very own Sportage. If you want a good reliable car but don't want to break the bank I would recommend it. Like any other car, just do the maintenance. I haven't had to use the warranty. I bought it for price and have been VERY happily surprised with the Rondo.
Brian at Morries IG Mazda was awesome. My daughter was purchasing her first car and his knowledge of the product and guidance through the process was extremely helpful! I would definitely recommend Brian Lee and this dealership.
Snow good Kia.
by ZimReaper from Cortland
March 13, 2017
We love our Kia, but no matter what good comes from it, our hatred of the snow and ice that builds up in the wheel wells will forever plight our ownership of it. It isn't uncommon in the winter to have to stop every 10 miles because we hear ice scraping on the tire. You can kick it of but then the whole darn wheel well falls apart over time as the plastic clips fall and break off from kicking the ice... so I suggest keeping your tire iron up front in the winter (you'll never use the factory one for actually changing a tire, it's too short, and you'll have to buy a better one for that, anyways)
As I said, it's sad, because its a beastly little machine otherwise, and probably a wonderful car for anyplace without snow. (A point seemingly made by the fact that the AC defaults to on)
They won't give you a good price for trade in but they are consistent with offers.

Good car, gas millage could be better (around 22 highway) ESC doesn't like snow going up hills, computer can't figure out what to do when the tires spin is unequal, so the car just bogs down ( you can shut it off), wish it had a timing chain instead of a belt, If you want to put up with some of the quarks (like most cars have) it's not a bad car, plenty of room (seats 8) over all I would give it 4 out of 5
Great car buying experience. My salesperson was fantastic, very helpful and made it so easy. everyone at the Hyundai house was great. i will definitely be a return customer. Thanks so much to everyone.

Affordable and lasted a long time! Ran well with minimal repair costs. Would have bought another if they still made them! Room for my 4 kids but not a lot of trunk space with 3rd row seating.
Georgi Radkov was really great to work with. He was professional and helped me with the purchases of my new truck!! Thank you Georgi!!! Merry Christmas

~ Do not buy from Bessada Kia~
I did some of research before I decided to buy my Kia Rondo. I have not been disappointed.
Even though it's a 2009 it is still running smoothly. It handles very well, is very comfortable and great on gas. I haven't had any issues, just the usual wear and tear. I love that it's so roomy for a small vehicle and can carry quite a bit when the seats are collapsed to widen the trunk space.

Car is okay but it has several performance issues.
- Okay car
- decent room
- 7 seat but if you use all of them there is no room for luggage.
- One of them is acceleration.
- Too sensitive for the fuel cap..this gives "Check Engine Light"
