I needed a car after mine was flooded. I test drove a Chevy Equinox on Wednesday and told the dealer what I wanted in my new car. Thursday I received a call saying Mr. Tolson had found the car I wanted. Friday I drove home in my new 2019 Equinox. Couldnt be happier with my experience at OBX Chevy.
I had gone to OBX Chevrolet to buy a new vehicle. I had been the victim of a flooding event that totaled the truck that I loved. I had been looking to buy a truck at some point but I was not ready until the food. I had shopped around for a new truck for quite a while and considered purchasing one eventually. I even had looked into online dealerships. I was far more comfortable dealing with a brick and mortar dealership dealing with people who had also experienced what we had gone through. Bobby Tolson with his 47+ years experience as a dealer and Mark Helman, the General Manager with his 40+ years in the business made this experience great. Everyone I had spoke with at this dealership was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to my wife and I. I had read an online review which had said that the person was happy with everything until the point where the dealership sprung on the additional and optional services the dealership offers at closing. Anyone who has looked into making such a large purchase realizes that making a fair profit is essential to stay in businesss. If you don’t want the extra warranty or service offered, don’t buy them. It was far more helpful to us to buy such a purchase with the caring assistance of people who know their product well. Plus after the purchase it was nice to be treated so kindly as to facilitate the delivery options we did choose. Plus, the General Manager tossed me the keys to his own car to use while I waited for the delivery options to be installed. I don’t think anyone would get that type of customer service from an online dealership. We were well pleased with everything at this dealership and would recommend OBX Chevrolet if you are in the market for a new or used Chevrolet or Buick!
This is my second vehicle from OBX Chevrolet and it was easy to purchase this truck. I had to have a vehicle as I lost my last vehicle to a flood from hurricane Michael. I very much enjoyed dealing with Bob who sold me the truck. Their some repairs that need to be addressed but I'm sure they will be resolved.
I was on vacation with my family and my mother’s 2015 Buick Encore (with only 3000 miles) wouldn’t start. It was the first time it happened so we didn’t think anything about it. We jump started it and figured it would be fine. Well after having to jump start it 5-6 times that day I knew something was up. I drove it to OBX Chevrolet Buick on Aug 30th and explained the issue. The service advisor Bob Parente advised us that they were booked and didn’t have an appointments available but he would see what he could do. He ended up taking the car in and told us it would be at least a couple of hours if at all before he could test the battery and see what was going on. We explained to him that the lease on the car was over in about a month and wouldn’t mind looking at possibly leasing a new car. He steered us to a salesman named Cory Piddington. Cory was an extremely nice guy. He was very personable and had us our test driving a new Encore before the sales floor was even open. He texted the manager Marc Hellman before he even got in and explained what we were looking to do. After a little while the manager Marc Hellman came in and sat down with us. He asked about some finance stuff and went to work on getting us the car my mother wanted. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the monthly payments where we wanted them. This was not due to anything lack of trying or help on their part. They did everything they could to give us a great deal but as I stated my mother wasn’t able to get to the payment she wanted.
We then left and waited to hear back about he car and battery. Around 4:30 that afternoon Bob Parente called us and told us that they were able to check the battery and the car. It turns out that the battery had faulty cells and they replaced the battery under warranty. No cost to us. A lot of dealerships knowing that we were pressed for time and were leaving for home in two days might have tried to get over. They could have said the battery was bad and that it needed replacing and charged us for it. The service people at OBX took the time to do the right thing and make sure we got the service that we needed. I have nothing but great things to say about this dealership and the people we dealt with. Don’t hesitate to stop by for your vehicle needs and service.

Exceptional but ridiculous having to write a review of 50 words or more. Why? I just could refuse to give a review and delete the whole thing. A review is supposed to be voluntary and honest. I volunteered to do it but now am expected to write more than I wanted. Therefore, it is not voluntary.
