2016 MINI Hardtop review

2009 MINI Cooper Clubman review
Owned for nine years, no repairs ever needed, just routine maintenance. Sporty, perfect city car, fuel efficient 33.5 mpg all around mileage. 2006 MINI Cooper S review
This car is like driving a go cart, for real. It’s got a lot of zip and handles really well. You certainly feel the bumps in the road. But I expect that in this little hot hatch. Plus it’s in pretty great shape for a 19 year old car. I look forward to bringing it as close to original as I can.

2017 MINI Countryman review
I've owned this MINI Countryman Cooper S for several years, and it has been one of my favorite vehicles I've ever owned. I had always wanted a MINI, and after owning one, I can honestly say I have no regrets. What surprised me most was how comfortable it is. I've taken multiple long road trips in this vehicle, and unlike some cars I've owned in the past, I never felt stiff or uncomfortable after spending hours behind the wheel. The seats are supportive, and it's a great vehicle for both daily driving and longer journeys. The handling is outstanding. It has that tight, responsive feel that people who enjoy driving BMWs will appreciate. It feels connected to the road, corners confidently, and is simply fun to drive every time you get behind the wheel. I also like that the technology is useful without being overwhelming. It has the features I want, but it still feels like a driver's car rather than a computer on wheels. The panoramic sunroof, premium audio system, and overall interior design make it feel more upscale than its price point would suggest. Most of all, I love the styling. The Countryman stands out from the crowd and has a unique personality that many vehicles lack. Every time I walked up to it, it felt like I was getting into something special. It's practical enough for everyday use, comfortable enough for road trips, and distinctive enough to put a smile on your face. If you're looking for a compact SUV that's fun, comfortable, and different from everything else on the road, the MINI Countryman is worth serious consideration.

2020 MINI Countryman review
I acquired a Mini Countryman S, and it is a really fun vehicle! It has an engine and styling by engineering partner BMW, a Japanese transmission, and is assembled in the Netherlands. Here comes the BUT....be sure to at least be in the S (sport) level. The standard vehicle just does not produce the power that this larger and heavier vehicle needs. Also. be aware that this vehicle has a double clutch. Be sure you understand what that is before investing in this type of car. I personally wanted a car with personality that I would not see a million clones of on the road, such as the ubiquitous Nissan Rogue. There are some quirks I could do without, like the goofy accent lighting and counter intuitive door handles and hard to get used to gear stick. But there are attractive trim level upgrades that make this a fantastic vehicle, as well as some standard features...like the panoramic sunroof and roof rails. I suggest the sport seats, the power lift boot gate, the JCW steering wheel and Mini Connect. The Premium package is a great choice. I don't personally care for the ALL4 (4 wheel drive), as it's a 3k upgrade that I didn't find worth the extra money when driving an ALL4. My vehicle has the extremely fun paddle shifters, combine it with Sport Mode, and this car is the epitome of a total blast! Reliability you say? I was worried about that too, as like many car brands MINI is notorious. Well, they are changing perceptions. Routine Maintenance is included, paired with a decent warranty and the option to buy additional mechanical coverage...not a bad deal for 22 bucks a month for extended mechanical protection. I was seeking a smaller, stylish, zippy, sporty SUV with luxury finishes....and MINI fits that bill. Give MINI a try if you've never driven one!

2025 MINI Countryman review
I have had my Countryman S for about 7 months and 2000 miles (I have two other cars). It’s Chili Red with Petrol Blue interior. My favorite points are 1. The interior. If you love interesting fun interiors as I do then you will love it. If you try to avoid black interiors and exteriors you eliminate 90% of the cars other make. With Mini, you can get perhaps the most fun interiors anywhere and the Vescin seems comfortable enough. Just with they had ventilated seats. 2. Power, FINALLY Mini got a full BMW tune given you pay about the same price. It is plenty quick and I get 33-36mpg on the highway all the time. Drops much lower zooming around town. 3. Appearance and layout. I like the unique appearance, low roof line for kayaks and plenty of room for the kind of car it is. Negatives: 1. Electronics. Had several updates since I bought it and it has improved a lot but will take some getting used to. Use the favorites menu. Everything is pretty much forced onto the center screen. Sometimes Mini does things to be cute rather than practical. Rather than a start button it uses a flag toggle key you turn off and on like an old fashioned key. If you have to change cars like I do it’s confusing. 2. Center console. Basically, there is not one. There’s a little clam shaped compartment the size of a clutch purse. The armrest doesn’t open. Wasted potential. You will hate this if you are used to piling layers of stuff in a huge center console. Glove box is minimal, too. Neutral. 1. There’s no screen behind the wheel but there is a heads up display. Frankly, after awhile I don’t miss it at all. The heads up is excellent but it takes a little getting used to. 2. Suspension is a bit stiff like all Mini’s. Makes it sporty but trade off is feeling most road imperfections. It does take the top off bumps well but it’s a trade off. In summary, the reliability has been good AFTER the electronics updates and most things work well. It is just so fun to drive and look at inside and out that really I am not sure what I’d rather drive. You might cross shop the BMW X1 and see which works better for you. You cannot beat Mini interiors though for just pure fun and the driving matches on what is a practical Mini for a family. Oh, I got it to tow a camper but I have yet to do that. Although the car we wanted didnt work out, the customer service was excellent. MARCUS is a STAR! He should be in management. I have brought many mercedes in the past. Carmax is turning the tide when it comes to purchasing vehicles. The best thing to do when you buy any car is to take it to another mechanic, and then bring it back to the place to be fixed within the warranty period. The Truck I purchased from them a year ago had a few issues but they did take care of it and I've not have any problems since. Carmax has set the bar high for purchasing returning and anything to do with cars. BRAVO!

2021 MINI Countryman review
No xm Sirius availability or Navigation screen or sensors on side mirrors for 2021 vehicle except that it's fine . I traveled on 95 S it was fine.

CarMax Costa Mesa review
I purchased a used Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG from the Carmax in Costa Mesa, CA about a month ago. I started out by calling the Carmax and reaching a sales agent. She worked with me by setting aside the car so that I could fly down to pick it up. She picked me up from the airport about 15 miles away from their dealership. When I saw the car, I found some minor cosmetic issues with the car and Carmax assured me that they would repair them at my local Carmax in Roseville, CA. I will be writing a review about that Carmax as well. They issued me a form stating repairs to be done at my local dealership. I informed the salesperson that I would be pushing the car a bit and she was fine with it. After the test drive, the car seemed to be in great condition, so we headed in for the paperwork. The appearance inside of the dealership building did not convey a welcoming feeling though. It felt like a warehouse with desks in it. The people within the building were nice and friendly though. The paperwork was pretty quick as I already had a loan check from the credit union. It took about 30 minutes and then I was on my way. Overall, I would say the experience was positive.
2024 MINI Hardtop review
A brilliant mark of automotive excellence. An abundance of personality, only to be outdone by my 9lb chihuahua. - 135 horsepower is more than plenty on the freeway, and far too much for the city. - The design of the interior cabin feels I am already in the future, as opposed to the present. - The cabin is also very quiet. I hardly hear cars and noise around me - the sound quality from the sound system is spectacular, and the audio from phone calls is unbelievably clear. - I've never driven a car with better handling. I would say it is in a Goldielocks zone of having enough wiggle for comfort and stiffness for performance.
