2015 Nissan Rogue review
Nissan ROGUE S trim, no sunroof, FWD. 14/15 year model, 7 seater. So, you are here because you are about to buy one and mix of 1 star to 5 star reviews makes you nervous. Don’t be nervous , just don’t, because you’re about to buy the best SUV on the market for that years and read: Here is how to buy it and not regret about purchasing it: Mainly because of ZERO GRAVITY SEATS. ITS PURE MAGIC!!! Short story first: We bought it used with around 60.000 miles back in 2019. At that time I was a mechanic but not yet ASE certified lol. So I was very nervous about our purchase - all my bank money was about to be gone for the car - didn’t use bank credit. AND I STARTED SEARCHING, SEARCHING AND SEARCHING AGAIN. Let me share my experience: I knew that the main problem was CVT. How to verify that it’s good before purchasing the car? BYU an OBD dongle VEEPEAK as example (not a Bluedriver!) Aquire an Android phone or tablet. Download CVT50 and pay the Full version $4.99 as of 2026 (later in your mind will sound like “FREE 99” lol) YouTube how to use it. Install dongle to desired car, connect to your android (no iOS arrrrr), start the car. Find deterioration counter in app by clicking “read CVT” IFyou see something above 1500 - JUST RUN. It’s that easy. Actually app shows red flag and sign “Transmission failure” if it’s above 3000. Once you acquire the car - do whole transmission fluid change with filters replacement and wiping bottom pan inside (flush if you want, but better not to… Actually you can do it by yourself within 2-3 hours at your driveway. Make sure: USE ONLY AND ONLY OEM NS-3 FLUID AND OEM FILTERS there is 2 of them in the transmission. When you will install the transmission oil pan back - DO NOT OVERTORQUE THOSE BOLTS!!! We got lucky and it was only around 90 on ours. So technically in supreme condition. So far after 6 years being lucky 3rd owner: 1. AC fan replaced by myself with used. 2. Major leak inside the driver side from rain - known recall was honored by Nissan thanks to JAMES PUGH - GOD BLESS HIM!!! at Nissan global HQ and fixed at/by local Nisan dealership. 3. Tailgate bulbs replaced. This is it. Oh forgot OEM oil filters and Royal Purple only 0w-20 every 5k miles. I knew the guy who drove all possible cars from one auto auction to another around 100k ride on daily basis, and he said, that most comfortable seats only Nissan have among all cars even M, AMG, GTI, R, RS and many other combinations of fancy letters top tier cars. 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe review
Bought this 2004 tahoe with a 5.3 L tow package with 257,000 miles on it in 2018 couldnt be more happy very comfortable on long trips engine runs great towed a 26’ travel trailer to northern idaho and oregon from so cal the gas mileage sucked but was a great vacation no issues however after getting home had to put in a transmission to the tune of $2500.00 made the same trip a year later no issues this time gas mileage really sucked due to current gas prices car now has 300.000 miles on it would buy a new one if i could afford $80,000.00!!! Bottom line best money i ever spent on a car

2006 Nissan Sentra review
We had the car for a long time . With minimal issues. The only odd problem was the rear axle had rusted and cracked. Besides normal wear items it has been a great vehicle! Over 230 k miles and no major issues. Keep on top of the maintenance. This was the last car we had purchased. Not sure why I was requested to review a car our friend has now !

2008 Cadillac DTS review
This is a very good car but it must be driven like the big car it is. I have 115000 miles on mine, bought it with 89000 four years ago. I have had some mechanical issues but all cars do at this mileage. The mpg is low (9-11 local, 25 highway) but the ride makes up for it. The car cant be beat for road trips and I still get compliments on the look of it. I budget 100/ month for upkeep plus 15/month for tires. Over the long haul this has been very close to actual costs for repairs and maintenance. It is a great car .

2011 Ford Fusion review
Update from JJ Newark NJ. Now have my blue 2011 Ford Fusion for almost 2 years. Best car 🚙 I have ever had . Just had issue with door handles because of a plastic part but mechanic says this is common on this car .Only thing I have serviced is transmission @55;000 miles and they reprogrammed it.As a result of that service car is definitely running much smoother. I change oil every 5000 miles and air filter s 10,000 mile intervals: Car now has 65,000 miles and runs brand new. Love ❤️ it. Thanks Ford for making a super automobile 🚙🇮🇪🍀🙏

2010 Toyota Highlander review
I purchased my 2010 Highlander in March 2011 with 5K miles. I now have 177,377 miles and never had a major repair required. Just replaced spark plugs for second time and should be good for another 75-80K miles. Thinking of trading in-not sure what to do. Oh btw: I’ve never missed a scheduled oil change in 13 years or ownership. Anyone have an opinion??????

2007 Ford Taurus review
This is actually for the 2001 Taurus I just sold and bought a low mileage 2007 to replace it. I am Taurus-addicted as they are great cars for anywhere near the money. They are mechanically identical with the '01 needing much brake work and a new compressor but the power train is bulletproof. Great cars for the bucks spent.

2001 Nissan Xterra review
This vehicle is amazing at its price. It has only one fault. It's mpg could be a little better. That's it. Period! I own two of these fine machines. They are reliable, rugged, capable, well designed, cool looking and who really cares if it doesn't have a vanity mirror? Really? People love their Xterras. At least they run regular gas, that helps!

2010 Nissan Altima review
Bought this car in 2017 for $6500. It had 86k miles. Currently its at 188k miles. Never changed the transmission oil. Other than regular maintenance I've only had to change the radiator, water pump, the struts and the coils twice. I will be changing the axles , front shocks and the valve cover. Car has been good to me. I thought the CVT would have given out by now with all the stories I've heard about them. Car is slow. Back seats are uncomfortable. MPG isn't the best for a 4cyl. Plenty of leg room and trunk space. If you can get one with less than 120k miles for cheap and you have a reliable and affordable mechanic take the risk. Worst case scenario you burn 3-4 thousand dollars. best case scenario you have 5-10 years of a reliable car without a car payment and you save on car insurance.

2014 Nissan Sentra review
I bought my car in 2014 with 5 miles on it. I changed the oil, had the CVT fluid changed at the intervals recommended by Nissan and I never had any problems with my car. Someone hit me and totaled my vehicle the end of September 2023. My car had 159,999 in the odometer at that time. I was trying to make it last as long as possible. I know what others say about this car but it was a great car and I’ve never had any issues or problems with it. Sad to see it gone.

2007 Volvo XC90 review

2007 Buick Lucerne review
Worked on one for a friend and this car is smooth and easy to work on. It's big and roomy and very stylish even today. The only thing I seen that I did not like was it doesn't get good gas mileage and it's a V6. Kinda to much weight for a V6 to be pulling but once you get it on the highway it's definitely a cruiser and smooth.

2003 Ford Taurus review
Bullet proof engine, parts are cheap as dirt, labor is cheap, very reliable and starts up every time you need to go. I always carry OBD2 scanner. If any check engine codes pop up I scan myself and know what sensor or part to buy. So far just new EGR valve I installed and Thermostat as well based on codes I recently fixed. Reliability always depends on maintenance. With fresh engine and ATF oil change , spark plugs, air filter, new brake pads and machined rotors, she drives smooth as silk. I highly recommend this car. 147K and drives like new.

2007 Dodge Nitro review
I bought my 07 dodge nitro slt with 82k miles on it 9 months ago for 9k plus tax. Currently have 90k miles on it and overall it’s been an alright car for me. I’ve had to do a bit of work on it but im a mechanic so it’s not that expensive for me i’ve had to replace the oil sending unit, bad spark plugs that were causing a misfire when my engine was cold, the muffler and tail pipe rotted out, the trailing arms rotted out, my left signal had a bad ground so watch out for electrical issues they get pretty expensive if you’re not a mechanic and live in a inspection state like i do. I’m not counting oil changes/brakes because that’s basic maintainence with any vehicle. But outside of that it’s been a decent car for the price i love the 4 wheel drive and the higher up in the air factor i never get stuck in the snow and you know how bad it snows in buffalo. Outside of that the engine and transmission are pretty solid on these cars if you don’t drive them hard they can be a pretty solid daily driver and the frames are pretty well made mine hardly has even surface rust on it if you don’t mind the bad gas milage and bumpy ride it’s a nice little suv for the price.

1993 Chrysler New Yorker review
We bought the car for my son. Nice car with low miles for the yr.(104000). I was able to do some minor repairs to make it more reliable and it is running great. A couple of hints from an old Mopar mechanic. He said to make sure you come to a complete stop at stop signs because of the electronic transmission that they used this yr. Also they suggested to be easy on the electric windows in the winters if they stick. I guess they break the mechanism if they are frozen and you try to open them. The car really does drive nice and gets good mileage.

2003 Saturn L review
Pushing 80 yrs old [young?] I find the L300 a very nice place to be driving from Az desert to the Ca coast...it also get pretty good MPG...Great air and power everything, like the sunroof too..1st car with leather, it felt more comfortable to sit on, seemed softer...over 84,000 now and all is well...can't complain even if it dies in the next 30 or 40 thousand miles...
