Easy easy EASY way to buy a car!

My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
The perfect commuter car

While doing my research for an EV, I had a few criteria: 1) The price needs to be under $35K 2) The battery range has to be at least 120 miles. 3) It needs to have Drive Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control (which I used in my friend's Tesla and decided that they would make driving much safer and much less stressful). Leaf met all these criteria. With the $7500 CA rebate and 10K federal rebate, my cost ended up being only about 24K for the car. My commute is 15 miles one way. With the Leaf's battery capacity, I only have to charge once a week at the cost of about $10. But the best parts of the Leaf are its Pro-Pilot and Intelligent Cruise Control (the package cost $2200 at my dealership). I wouldn't get a Leaf without them. They make driving so much easier, safer, and more comfortable. The ride itself is very smooth in my opinion. I drive mostly in Eco mode, and the responsiveness is sufficient in my opinion. It is extremely quiet. When I make calls from my phone through Apple Car Play, people I call can't tell that I was calling from a car. The one-pedal driving is even much better than Tesla (according to my friend who owns a Tesla). While a Tesla won't come to a full stop until you hit the brake, Leaf will eventually stop once you take your foot off the gas pedal. It does take some getting used to, but once you get used to it, you'd never want to drive without it! I only gave 4 stars for the interior design, because it feels that there is no "uniformity" in the design. For example, to park, you push a button, but to activate the Eco mode, you pull a switch. It's a minor gripe, though.

Kevin Lambert was amazing to work with. Chris Casey, who finalized our paperwork made us feel like we was talking to a long time friend. This is our 5th vehicle we purchased from Chapman Nissan. They make you feel like you're part of their family. They're extremely caring and they make the best deals possible. We wouldn't go anywhere else to purchase a Nissan.

After about 40000 miles, it still performs like it did when I got it at 8000 miles. It accelerates from a stop strongly and handles well. The only issue I've had is some squeaking from the front suspension when the weather is cold. It still has about 90 percent of its original driving range. On sub-zero (Fahrenheit) days, the range goes to about 60 percent of what it has on an 80 degree day. Then, I wouldn't trust it to go any further than 35 miles on a full charge.

Selling to Carvana: super easy and no-hassle!
by Ajlee1216 from DealerRater.com

This is a review of my SELLING experience to Carvana. I listed my car on Craigslist and was approached by an outsider buyer named Jan. She introduced me to Carvana, which I never heard of before, and it's process. She was very helpful and walked me through the process. The first deciding factor for selling to them was that they offered me the best price (vs. CarMax, Auto Nation, Trur Car). Then I realized the process was super streamlined. All I had to do was upload my documents and, after approval, schedule an appointment for the pickup of my car. Carvana sent a truck to COME TO ME to pick up the car. The driver (Lauren?) was very courteous and pleasant to work with, too. The pickup process, which included a one-mile test drive, took no longer than 20-30 minutes. Immediately after loading my car to their truck, I was handed the check, which I immediately deposited without any issues. My selling experience from being contacted by buyer to getting the check took just 10 days! (Would've been even faster if I was more timely with uploading my docs.) I'd highly recommend Carvana for selling your cars!

I've never been more pleased with a car. Not only did I save tons of money - with the federal, state, and local rebates, plus avoiding gas stations for years! - but it handles well because the battery causes its weight to be low, and it accelerates fast because the power's electric and right there all the time! Great interior room, too - moved chairs in it.

Best service ever!
by TonyC2018 from DealerRater.com

Buying through Carvana was one of the best transactional experiences ever! I shopped for several months, test drove several cars to understand the models and features I was looking for. Then, boom, the car that matched come up in my search and I pulled the trigger. Within minutes, I had a value on my trade-in, purchased the car, (to include a very well priced extended warranty), and arranged for financing it through the Carvana website. And, while that was a very easy, non pressure experience, what made it really special was the delivery. Rachel, the Caravan rep, called me the day before the delivery to confirm, then called while in route to be sure not to leave me hanging. She was right on time, professional, and extremely upbeat. I had a genuine feeling that her priority was not only to deliver the car and pick up my trade in, but it was to make the final part of my experience a pleasure as well. Rachel was extremely knowledgeable of the process and did an excellent job of assuring I was informed of the "7 day, no questions asked, test drive" as well as the final paperwork to be processed. A few signatures and the trade-in was her's and the keys to 2014 BMW 535 were in my hands.

Too soon to tell as we've just purchased the car, but at this point the car feels solid and drives well, with good acceleration. Visibility is good. A bit tight in the cockpit with limited storage. Should prove to be excellent around town and on shorter (150 miles) trips or less. Looking forward to driving this car and not having to stop at gas stations!

Out of the blue I was contacted by a woman from Carvana on a Sunday when I actually had time to communicate. She and all of the subsequent reps who sent me information as I needed or requested it were professional and thorough. I was able to research the company online and was impressed with the entire concept of online selling and car buying and the ease with which I was able to find background information. Once I agreed to the offer I was taken step by step through the process. I was not confused even once by the process. I had nothing to do but gather my documents, upload them and then schedule a date for my car to be picked up and for me to be paid. The local rep. From Carvana came to my home exactly at the agreed upon time, was clear about what was going to happen, worked quickly and answered my questions. Once the papers were signed (I did not need to go to the DMV or AAA or to a notary) I received my check and my car was loaded on the one car hauler and driven away. I deposited the check that day and funds were available the very next day (which happened to be a Sunday). If I were not really strapped for time perhaps I could have made an extra $ 500-1000 overall by selling it to an individual but I would have worked very hard for that extra money and spent time I did not have available. Instead, I was not stressed by the extra work, my other responsibilities were able to be met and my car is off and becoming someone else???s beautiful Subaru. Thank you Jan and all the others who worked on the transaction. Judy R ...

The Absolute BEST way to buy a car!
by The Captain from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.1 (472 reviews)
This is how buying a car is supposed to be. Go online, get qualified, see the terms upfront, pick any car you like and then have it delivered to your doorstep. If you don't like it for ANY reason, you can return it in 7 days, no questions asked. You can either choose another car or just give it back. My BMW i3 was exactly as they described it (it even had additional options they didn't mention). I cannot emphasize enough how this is the future of car buying. No more dealership 'let me talk to the manager' games and wasted time. Also, the customer service was incredible. The girl that delivered my car at 11:30 am exactly as promised, was super friendly and showed a genuine interest in any concerns I expressed. There were some small blemishes on the interior and they sent out a car detailer to treat the problem. I was extremely impressed. She also promised a little care package and to my surprise, I received a FedEx package a few days later from Carvana packed with goodies! If you have ANY hesitation - don't - my Carvana experience was FANTASTIC!
Better by far than the original Leaf

This SV version of the Leaf gives us all we could ever ask for., almost. More range is exceptional. The e-pedal is easy to use and makes driving very relaxing. The performance is also exceptional. Fast as a rocket. The reliability of EV's is unmatched. No need for oil changes, filter changes, lube jobs. Brake pads last much longer than a ICE car because of the regenerative breaking built into these cars. We couldn't be happer with this car.

I love this place.. Best Car buying experience ever!!!!!

I purchased a car in Aug 2018, there was a delay with the delivery. No big deal they called me and offered me an Uber being the next day I didn't have a ride there. I didn't like it and it was returned it with no issues. 3 weeks later i ordered another car. I love the ease of ordering online and the description of the car isn't too far off. I received my second car and it had a small dirt area on the back. I made a joke about it with the delivery driver and he made a call and they gave me a detail on them. Then as I was going through the settings of the vehicle I noticed one of the the items they listed as a perk wasn't actually in the car. I called carvana and they admitted to their mistake and accommodated me with what they were able to offer. I have never been to a dealer that will admit their mistake and then try to assist you to make things at ease for you. If i am in the market again I will definitely come here. I would recommend them. Their customer service is great and even the warranty/claims area. I took the car to the dealer to get it looked over and when they found an item they called Carvana and it was taken care of without an issue. This was a hassle free buy. Thank you Carvana I do not remember my delivery driver name but he was the best. Thank you Michelle Benitez for all the great help and customer service you gave me. Not once did I feel like I was getting attitude from her because I was complaining about a misprint. Thank you for taking my concerns serious. JJ (Texas)

Who Knew Car Buying Could Be So Easy?
by JPaul7168 from DealerRater.com

I completely enjoyed my car buying experience with Carvana! The online process was so simple. After selecting the vehicle I wanted to purchase, it was just a matter of uploading a few documents and I had an offer on my trade-in and financing approval within minutes. I picked up my car at their Nashville location a couple of days later and it was delivered spotless and in like-new condition. The entire pick-up experience took less than an hour and that's including a 20 minute test drive. No hassles, no sales pitch and no pressure. I wish I could remember the name of the customer advocate in Nashville (I think it was AJ-but I'm not 100% sure about that) because he was excellent and deserves a shout-out in this review. The only extremely slight negative was that the 360 website tour of the vehicle that I purchased incorrectly showed heated seats as one of the features but the car does not have heated seats. Wasn't a deal breaker for me as the car was a great value for the features that it did have and it was otherwise exactly as advertised. Loving my nearly new car and would definitely buy from Carvana again!

2014 Kia Soul from Carvana, Awesome!!!
by gcousins70 from DealerRater.com
November 6, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.1 (472 reviews)
I love my 2014 Kia Soul. It's the 2014 base model but has features most base models don't. Cruise control, bluetooth, digital dash with outside temp., avg. MPG, fuel window by miles remaining, etc.. It's like new, has low miles at 35K. I read some reviews about the Soul base models 1.6L engine, that it was sluggish or lacking power, I find this not to be true. I think some reviews are too picky, it's not a dodge charger with a hemi but it has more than enough power for any normal driver. There are a couple of barely noticeable blemishes but this is expected from a three year old vehicle. The process was much easier than dealing with a dealer or individual seller. I financed through Carvana, very easy process. The car drives like new and to my surprise, the Soul has a ton of room for a guy 6-2. The delivery guy was cool and the vehicle was delivered three business days after I purchased it. I saved a lot of money. I did my research and local dealers are charging around $1k more for this vehicle plus you have to pay their dealer fees and deal with the bs games they play (aggravating). I also saved $500 from a friend referral, so I saved around $2K. I would highly recommend Carvana.
Love My Leaf

My first electric car and I adore it. Only negative is limited range on fully charged battery (66 miles). It's whisper quiet and super fun to drive. I love whizzing past gas stations. I have not used a public charger yet. Had an electrician install a 220 plug in my garage and I bought a level 2 charger. Do all my charging at home. There is one thing I was shocked to discover. I took my car in for general service since I bought it used. I was informed they could not service my car because they had no mechanic on staff certified to service the Leaf. Say WHAT???? I'm standing in a Nissan Dealership and being told they are not equipped to service a car they make. WOW....just wow!! I even made the manager call other dealerships to see if any of them had a certified mechanic. Only way over on the other side of town. How disappointing. So this is a very important factor to be aware of. Make sure the dealership has a certified mechanic on staff before taking your car in or it's a wasted effort. Thank goodness my car didn't have any issues. Was just looking for general service since I was the new owner of a used car

My Best Car Buying Experience Ever!
by FLaquaguy from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.1 (472 reviews)
I was in need of a used car. Obviously everyone wants to get a great deal so in order to do that the typical procedure would be to start scanning used car ads, the internet, calling dealers, looking through the newspaper, etc.. It was by accident that I found Carvana and I am so glad that I did. This time, I could go "used car shopping" completely from home and I could examine every car available, of which there were many, many cars, and I could look at the outside, the inside, the details of the outside and inside, the reports on the car- knowing what type of service has been done-accidents-anything, and then go through each and every feature that the car has. Being able to do this from home on my time and at my pace made the "looking for the car" simple, fun, and rewarding. Then, after finding the ideal vehicle for me, it was such a simple, easy, and actually fun process to put the car on hold, get all the paperwork in, and then have the vehicle delivered to my home. In the past I would have made two or three trips to a dealership and then spent HOURS going over paperwork, plus I would have had to endure the inevitable offers the finance manager would try to sell me when I finally got to sign papers. NONE of that happened with Carvana. I found the vehicle I wanted, put it on hold, filled out the paperwork and emailed it in, and the car was delivered to my home!! It was a fantastic experience!! Ordering a car off the internet was as easy as ordering a pair of pants! The best part was there was ABSOLUTELY NO RISK! Carvana gave me 7 days to drive the car, look it over, have it checked, whatever I wanted to do to be sure it was what I wanted and that I liked it before I actually owned it. If, for any reason, I decided I didn't want this car I could have Carvana pick it up no questions asked. If I had found a different car that I liked better, no problem. Carvana would let me change to a different car. After I decided to keep the car, Carvana provided an additional warranty at no charge so Carvana took all of the worry about purchasing a vehicle. During the time prior to taking delivery, I called Carvana a few times as I am one who asks a lot of questions and EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALLED, CARVANA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES WERE FABULOUS!! THEY WORKED AS HARD TO ASSIST ME AS THEY WOULD HAVE FOR THEIR OWN FAMILY!! In my 66 years on this planet, I've dealt with many kinds of people and I can tell you without any hesitation that Carvana is doing everything they could possibly do as a company to make sure their customers are satisfied and have an excellent experience. I can tell you that my experience was definitely excellent and I already have highly recommended them, and will continue to recommend them in the future. If and when my next car purchase occurs, I'll be calling Carvana!!

I really enjoy driving this car. It is perfect for my commute and learning the ropes about charging an all electric hasn't been that difficult. The interior is very comfortable, the color amazing and the style is great looking. Also the visibility is outstanding. Pro pilot assist is responsive, and the regenerative braking is pretty cool. I like being able to top off a charge at home with 110 overnight.

Chris Quinn 5 STARS x's 2!!!

I went car shopping for a new vehicle. I was greeted by Chris Quinn, who made us feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed us around and guided us through the available cars there. I must say that this was my best car shopping experience ever. Chris was very informative and he was answering many questions that we thought would catch him off guard. Chris was extremely patient & kind. Nowadays, it's commonly seen that car salesmen just don???t do enough and their only objective is to get money out of your wallet. But, a salesman like Chris delivers an incredible service and gives a very pleasant experience. Chris told us that he has been with Woodbury Nissan, in sales, for 27 years. That is dedication for sure and loyalty to boot. After I left the dealership, I went to my mother's house to show off my brand new 2016 Altima & of course now she wants one! Back to Woodbury Nissan we go :-). Chris was not scheduled to work that day so we were kind of bummed and worried we would not have the same experience we had earlier in the week. To our surprise, after making one simple phone call to Chris, he comes in on his day off just for us. I mean who does that?!? My mother being 73 years young & on an extremely tight budget was worried that there was no way she could get a car that was half decent for her budget. Guess what? Chris did it!! I was shocked, she now has a 2013 Sentra! She calls me everyday telling he how much she loves it. That makes my heart smile and I owe it all to Chris Quinn! I have 4 words for Woodbury Nissan, " Chris Quinn for President! " ha-ha We will be coming to your showroom for the years ahead. I don't normally go out of my way to fill out surveys or review cards, but I truly believe that Woodbury Nissan has a huge asset on their showroom floor and I felt the need to give back to Chris through this letter. Chris told us if we ever needed anything, just to give him a call. After 27 years, I know Chris is a man of his word and will be there for us!! Thank you so much, Barbara Hansen & Mom

I had my doubts about buying a car online for sure. I only considered it because I had a friend who used Carvana, and I trusted them. The price was better than anything we found shopping around locally, and the FEES were almost non-existent in comparison! At a local dealer, the price was almost $2K more than the listed price on the car. For Carvana, it was only the necessary tax and tags. I was FLOORED with the price. So great. The process was easy, the customer service was fabulous, the price was amazing, my car was delivered TO. MY. HOUSE. for free, and I will definitely do this again. If I had to pick something to change, I guess I would like more still photos of the car instead of just the 5 or so. The virtual tour of the car was cool, but more pictures of the inside would've been fun. I will definitely recommend shopping with Carvana to friends.

1 USB, BT, AUX cable, good sound, tight handling, surprising acceleration, generally good all around visibility, headlights could be brighter, pretty good front seat space and leg room, adequate rear seat space (but only for short to moderate range trips), surprising amount of trunk space. Adds about 60-70 miles from a regular home power outlet in about 12 hours. Saves about 7 cents a mile vs 2.50 gallon gas. HD radio works well. Heat and air is effective. Great commuting car.

The Nissan Leaf EV - A Nice Little Car!

This is my first electric vehicle. I love new tech & always wanted an EV, but the new ones are still too expensive for me. I recently purchased a 2012 Nissan Leaf SL, and am really enjoying it. It's a "1st Generation" Leaf (2011-2012), so it's got a couple drawbacks. It's got a 24 kWh battery, which only had a 75 mile range when new. It's got the 1st Gen heater, which sucks more power than later models. It's almost 7 years old, so the battery has lost a little capacity & only does 50-60 miles now (depending on how cold it is). Those are the negatives of an older EV. Now, the positives: It still drives like new. Ultra smooth & quiet. These EVs need virtually no maintenance. It's VERY peppy from zero-to-45, and not too shabby after that. There's literally NO noise produced unless you're moving or running something. It charges in about 12-14 hours from empty on a regular 110 household plug, 4-6 hours on a 220, and 30 MINUTES with the quick DC chargers you find in some gas stations. It's just a cool car if you're a tech geek. It's kinda like a video game because you find yourself adjusting your driving as a challenge to get the most range for your charge. Since I only have a 40-mile round trip to work, this car works great as a commuter vehicle. In a few years, I'll probably move on to a newer EV with longer range, but as a 'gateway' starter EV, an older Nissan Leaf is a great way to begin. The 1st Generation models can be had for around $7000 now (they were $36k new!), and are pretty widely available. Just make sure you get one that still has decent capacity left on the battery. At 7-ish years old, mine still has 11 out of 12 'capacity bars' showing on the original battery. That translates to around 80-85%. Still lots of life left. Avoid any that have 9 bars or less or have spent their lives in hot places like Arizona that kill batteries faster. Replacing the main battery is crazy-expensive (around $9k)! But one that's been well cared for can still provide you several good years for a pretty modest price.

I recently purchased a car from Highline Motor Cars in South Hampton. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Saeed was very professional. It was a pleasure dealing with him. There was no pressure from him nor were there any hidden fees. I really appreciated the calmness and honesty from Saeed from the first time I contacted him inquiring about the car, to the last hand shake before driving off in my new car. The car was just as described in the ad and was very competitively priced. I recommend this dealership to anybody in the market for a used car. Don't hesitate about this place. It's the real deal, family owned business. Very respectful, courteous, and polite. 2 thumbs up. 5 stars all the way!!
It's great. But it only has a 50 mile range.

If you have specific destinations. And don't make any side trips. You should come home with 18 to 21 miles left. The 2012 leaf has a 50-mile range. The car is reliable. But it's not built for long distances. When I bought it. I didn't understand range. So I get nervous if I go too far. The computerized voice tells me once the range hits 11 miles to charge it. And there are electric charging stations, but you have to buy a membership to use them. The price is cheap. And there are a few free charging stations. But you have to look for it. And I have charged it in the rain. But I take extra precautions like putting towels on top of the extension cord and putting a towel on where the plug goes in the car. I really think I should have gotten a hybrid. Because I use the gasoline-powered car to go longer distances. Overall, I still save thousands of dollars on gasoline by using the leaf. Maybe hundreds. And the car shakes a lot of the road is bumpy. So don't drink any water before traveling. But if the road is smooth, then the car is a great drive.
