It took me a long time to be able to afford this car, and I had a lot of other sports cars but the hype around the 911 being the true ultimate sports car is not exaggerated. True: it's a little loud, you hear the tires and the road dirt... but you also hear the exhaust and feel the back of your seat. The base model is way more than most people need, and provides everything the much more expensive variants do... and a lower price. Every single component from the vents to the motor are over-engineered and built to last. The 992.2 is the last of the great 911s complete with analog gauges and a real shift lever.

It’s not a car that requires a ton of dinero to keep up ..
I’ve had 4 thru my lifetime .. I’ve had a 308 GT, M6, SL500 and a host of others and always come back to a 911. It’s a week end take it never out of town car...

If you are looking for a sports car that can be driven daily and is extremely reliable then this is the car for you. Sure, there isn't loads of space but the care fits lives a glove. Kids also love riding in this car. This car adds so much joy to the mundane task of driving. Can't recommend it enough.

My '02 Porsche Carrera was great looking, handled great, amazing grip at the track, but it was a very unreliable car and very expensive to maintain both on parts and labor it was a nightmare, it had a manual clutch part that had a defective design I had to replace it twice, very uncomfortable for the passengers, only if you have small kids or invite Circus midgets to ride on the back, they would fit there, has terrible rear space, and the design of those seats are a nightmare. My local euro specialist repair shop, had many used Porsches that the owners preferred to don't come and pick them up because of the very high cost of repair. If you are planing to own a Porsche buy it new and keep it before you run out of warranty.

Best sports car you can buy

The GTS is the perfect 911. Having owned a standard 991 the GTS is leaps and bounds. Was hesitant about the new "we all have turbos now" but you get bigger turbos in the GTS and the car is amazing. Insure you get the manual. Yes the PDK is quicker on the track but the manual is best for daily driving and you feel even more one with the car. This is my 14th Porsche and by far the best.
Cons: Hate the ebrake...bring back the handle; no launch control for manual cars (I haven't found it yet anyway).
