I have just purchased my 2nd Kia Optima from Ray Skillman Kia/Mitsubishi. I came back for a second round partly because of the quality of the first Optima, partly because of the sales experience, and partly because of the fine service to my vehicle. Re. the first purchase, I found myself with a car I could not live with. I purchased a new car that was, after 6 weeks, obviously the wrong car for me. The driver's seat was so uncomfortable, I was beginning to have back problems. I needed to be "rescued" from a bad purchasing decision, a purchase which was made from another Skillman dealership. That salesperson worked with Skillman Kia to find a solution and arranged for me to trade for a new 2014 Optima. I had to absorb the considerable depreciation from trading a new car after only 6 weeks' ownership. Skillman Kia made it work, and I found myself with a great new comfortable car. I honestly didn't think they would be able to get me financed, but they did! My 2nd Kia purchase came about as I was having the 2014 serviced. While waiting, I struck up a conversation with a young new salesman, and he convinced me that if I was interested, they could put me in a new 2018 Optima. I was skeptical at first, given my negative equity in the 2014 Optima. I decided if they could get me the exact car I wanted, the model, trim level, even the colors, at a price I was comfortable with, without continuing my negative equity situation, I would go for it. I honestly didn't think it could happen, but that's exactly what they did. By going to a lease, they made it a reality. The exact car I wanted was found, but it was over 150 miles away, in Ohio, I had to wait a day and a half for it to arrive, but it was worth it. It's exactly what I wanted! I know several of the sales staff worked very hard to make it all happen. I was even given a new Optima to drive while my car was in transit, rather than remand my old car back to me. I was offered a number of optional items for the car, but never pressured to take any of them. And everyone on the staff I came in contact with was very helpful and friendly. Same goes for the service department. All of my routine service was performed at the dealership, with zero complaints. Those kinds of experiences will keep me coming back for more.
