2021 Cadillac XT4 Review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2021 Cadillac XT4?

The Cadillac XT4 is a five-seat, small luxury SUV that competes with the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Volvo XC40. All XT4s are powered by a 237-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive models are available, as is an adaptive suspension.

What’s New on the 2021 Cadillac XT4?

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity and a power liftgate are now standard. Sport trim levels now have red brake calipers, and Premium Luxury and Sport models add heated, power-folding side mirrors with an auto-dimming feature for the driver’s mirror.

What Features in the 2021 Cadillac XT4 Are Most Important?

  • 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot (data subscription required after trial)
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Available wireless device charging
  • Available dual-pane panoramic moonroof
  • Available lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control

Should I Buy the 2021 Cadillac XT4?

Despite its small footprint, the XT4’s interior is roomy and benefits from easy-to-understand controls. However, brake-pedal feel isn’t the best, and the front seat cushions could be longer. The competition in this corner of the market is strong, so it’s worth checking them out before making a purchase.
