Expert 2024 Lincoln Corsair review

Our expert's take
By Cars.com Editors
Full article

What Is the 2024 Lincoln Corsair?

The Lincoln Corsair is a five-seat compact luxury SUV that is Lincoln’s smallest, most affordable vehicle. It shares its basic platform with the Ford Escape, but with luxury-level styling, trim and features inside and out. The base powertrain is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.

Also available is a Grand Touring plug-in hybrid version that’s powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that teams with an electric motor, a continuously variable automatic transmission and standard AWD. It’s rated at 266 hp, with an estimated 27 miles of electric-only driving range. Corsair competitors include the Acura RDX, BMW X3, Cadillac XT4, Genesis GV70, Infiniti QX50 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class.

What’s New on the 2024 Lincoln Corsair?

The Corsair’s entry-level trim has been renamed Premiere for 2024, but there are no significant updates. A refresh last year added a larger standard touchscreen, subtle exterior and interior revisions, and the availability of Lincoln’s ActiveGlide hands-free driving system.

What Features in the 2024 Lincoln Corsair Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 13.2-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Satellite radio
  • Voice recognition
  • Navigation
  • Three USB ports
  • Wi-Fi hot spot
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Remote start
  • Nine-speaker stereo system
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure steering assist
  • Automatic high-beam headlights

Available features include:

  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Heated rear seats
  • Leather upholstery
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • 14-speaker Revel audio system
  • ActiveGlide hands-free driving assist system
  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Rain-sensing wipers

Should I Buy the 2024 Lincoln Corsair?

The Corsair is a worthy choice for compact luxury SUV shoppers who want a smooth, unflustered ride and a cushy cabin. Though it handles just fine in everyday driving, and its powertrains provide more than sufficient acceleration, the Corsair doesn’t aspire to be sporty, which helps it stand out compared with European rivals. However, the Corsair’s prices climb alarmingly quickly as you ascend the trim ladder and add options; at the higher end of its model range, the Corsair is an uncompelling value proposition when pitted against class rivals that are a bit more spacious inside.

  • Stay away from Lincoln!

Stay away from Lincoln! Purchased a 2024 Lincoln Corsair in May of 2024. Nothing but headaches! Battery keeps going dead and Ford's response is the the car is not being driven enough. It is driven most every day. 50 thousand for a car which Ford will not admit there are problems with and will not stand behind their product. Shame on Ford and Lincoln!

  • Got the 2024 Grand Touring loaded up and all the features

Got the 2024 Grand Touring loaded up and all the features on the vehicle work well. Also got the optional perfect position 24 way seats and they are great, and the massage feature works great too. Adjustable rear seats allow 4 adults to seat comfortably in a smaller SUV. the only thing Lincoln needs to change would be to get 35 miles of range out of the battery, when its warm outside you get around 30 but when it's cold you get 20 to 22 only. if you are not use to tech the 13.2 inch infotainment screen may take some getting used to. the transition from the electric motor to gas engine is flawless and does a great job at working well together to give you the cars power when you need it in normal mode.
