Key Points

  • The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA starts at $42,750 (all prices include $1,250 destination charge).
  • More exterior and interior appearance options allow for greater personalization
  • Up to 34 mpg on the highway

The current-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA is entering its sixth model year, and there are no major mechanical changes to the little SUV for 2026. There are, however, a handful of new appearance packages that give buyers more options for customizing the look of their subcompact Mercedes-Benz SUV. Highlights include the new Midnight Edition, which adds 20-inch AMG wheels and black exterior accents, and the AMG Design Package Plus for the AMG GLA35, which adds nonmetallic gray paint, black trim, black wheels and red brake calipers.

Release Date and Pricing

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is on sale now. Full line pricing is as follows:

  • GLA250: $42,750
  • GLA250 4Matic: $44,750
  • AMG GLA35: $59,800

Trim Levels

Other than their number of driven wheels, the GLA250 and GLA250 4Matic are identically equipped. Standard equipment on both includes 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate and push-button start. Inside are synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Buyers can upgrade the GLA with two trim packages. The Exclusive adds automated parking, a hands-free power liftgate, keyless entry, wireless phone charging and 64-color ambient lighting. To the exterior of the vehicle, the Pinnacle adds a panoramic moonroof, puddle lamps and adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel. Cabin upgrades include a head-up display, augmented-reality navigation, a 360-degree parking camera, a 10-speaker sound system and gesture control.

The AMG GLA35 announces its additional power with a unique exhaust system and corrals it with sport-tuned all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, a stiffer suspension with adaptive dampers, 19-inch wheels and upgraded brakes. Luxury upgrades to the AMG include keyless entry, a panoramic moonroof, a hands-free power liftgate, heated front sport seats, a 12-speaker Burmester audio system, wireless phone charging and 64-color ambient lighting.

Here, the Exclusive Trim adds adaptive headlights, road-sign recognition and augmented-reality navigation. The AMG’s Pinnacle Trim includes a head-up display, a 360-degree parking camera, gesture control and puddle lamps.

Standard and Available Safety Features

Standard driver-assistance technologies on the 2026 GLA-Class include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitors, a driver attention monitor and automatic high beams.

Automated parking is standard on the AMG GLA35 and available as part of the GLA250s’ Exclusive Trim Package or in the Parking Package, which also includes a 360-degree camera system. Also available across the lineup, the Driver Assistance Package consists of adaptive cruise control, blind spot intervention, lane departure steering assist, automatic lane changes, front cross-traffic alert, emergency steering assist and road-sign recognition.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

Every 2026 GLA is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In the GLA250 and GLA250 4Matic, the 2.0-liter generates 221 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque. As Mercedes-Benz’s in-house performance division, AMG massages the four-cylinder to the tune of 302 hp and 295 pounds-feet in the GLA35. Mercedes calls its AWD system 4Matic, meaning the only difference between the GLA250 and the GLA250 4Matic is that the former is front-wheel drive and the latter AWD. The AMG GLA35 has standard AWD.

The GLA250 returns an EPA-rated 26/34/29 mpg city/highway/combined, while the AWD GLA250 4Matic is rated at 25/33/28 mpg. With its extra power, the AMG is good for 22/30/25 mpg.
