2015 Toyota Highlander consumer reviews

We bought this car new in March 2015. It currently has over 205,000 miles, and I am selling it to buy a Grand Highlander next week. I still drive it back and forth from Iowa to Florida 3 times a year, and never worry about it making it. It handles great in any snow Iowa gave me, and last trip to Florida I averaged over 25 mpg traveling about 75. I have done all my scheduled maintenance at Cedar Rapids Toyota, changing the oil every 10,000 miles, and 1 tune up with spark plugs at 120k. Total repairs, (not maintenance), was under $450. 1 rubber seal for sunroof, 4 tire pressure monitors, and 4 sets of lug nuts, as they were rusting on. Truly the best and most reliable car I have ever owned. One reason I am trading up to a Grand Highlander is to get all the new safety features. My oldest daughter is buying this, because they know it surely has another 100k + of life left in it.

It’s been a very reliable car the past 7 years. No issues mechanically speaking. Body style is great Mine has no safety warning features. My dislikes are the huge side mirrors and window frame. I’m 5’1” and they are a huge blind spot issue for me. Even my 5’10” son has issues. You cannot see the curb on a curve and you have to be extra careful to watch for pedestrians at thr crosswalks. And the nav screen/system and back up camera are USELESS during a sunny afternoon. The angle they installed it and without something to shade it makes it impossible to use. Actually dangerous at times. The only other thing is the road noise. It’s not terrible but next car I’m going for will be a quiet ride.

All four power locks went out before car was 5 years old and Paint started peeling off in chunks. The color “blizzard pearl” been part of a repair program for most Toyota makes, except the Highlander. Neither the dealership or Toyota will do anything to make it right. I love this car when I bought it and have been disappointed with it pretty much every sense.

Toyota Highlander, Limited Platinum is gorgeous, materials, like Lexus. They did not cheap out like other car brands. Love the reliability, design, features, interior, is luxurious looking without the crazy price tag. This is the way to go, especially if you want a reliable, resale, dependable, value for the money, vehicle for the family. If your starting a family, this is the way to go. Would buy again!!!!

This car has been a good choice for me, because it fits me. It’s easy to drive, maneuver, and park. It can carry pretty much anything I want to take with me. People, luggage, furniture, groceries...no problem. So far I have had no mechanical issues, and I don’t anticipate that I will. Great purchase!

this car has met all the needs, we have a big family, everyone can sit comfortably and not on top of someone, we are going to enjoy this car everyday, thanks to the whole team at Toyota

Owned it for 6.5 years. In all that time the only complaint I had was the side mirrors created a huge blind spot when turning.

Need trailer hitch, should be on vehicle as standard equipment . Dealers should do a better job. I recommend this vehicle. Navigation updates should be at dealer expense.
