2020 Volvo V90 review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2020 Volvo V90?

The Volvo V90 is a full-size luxury wagon with room for five. A 250-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive are standard, while a 316-hp, supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with all-wheel drive is available. Both engines work with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The related V90 Cross Country delivers a hint of off-road ruggedness with unique styling cues, a higher-riding suspension and standard all-wheel drive.

What’s New on the 2020 Volvo V90?

There are no significant changes this year.

What Features in the 2020 Volvo V90 Are Most Important?

The Volvo V90 is both a stylish and practical alternative to the traditional luxury SUV. Premium features include a digital instrument panel, a Harman Kardon stereo, navigation, a power liftgate, four-zone automatic air conditioning and a panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade. Safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and Pilot Assist.

Should I Buy the 2020 Volvo V90?

You won’t see many V90s on the road, which can be a good thing for someone looking for a unique and versatile luxury vehicle. Interior materials quality is good, but the backseat cushion is low and there’s a large tunnel that takes up rear foot space. The V90 Cross Country offers SUV cues without having to move to an SUV.

Love this car!

Gorgeous inside and out! I love the comfort of the interior, the drive is so sporty and the exterior is so stylish. Great technology too- easy to use.

4.9

People stop me to ask about my V90 Inscription.

Front seat comfort is excellent. Interior material is high quality and well built. Exterior paint and finish is first rate. Originally, I thought that the IPAD-like center info system would be difficult to use, but after a short time I found it actually very easy to use. For a 4 cylinder, the power is fine but the MPG is somewhat low (around 18-20 mpg city, 27-29 mpg highway; the 15 gallon fuel tank limits highway travel).
