The Ultimate 'Riding' Machine
March 12, 2019
They took some of the 'driving' out of the ultimate driving machine, but it's still a fantastic car. A bit isolated from the road these days as compared to previous models I've owned, this car has a lot of whiz bang technological features and the interior is the best in any car under $100,000. The ride is perfectly comfortable and solid, everything works flawlessly and the engine is powerful, smooth, quiet and still delivers an average of about 24 MPG in mixed driving. The only thing I would say is missing is the classic BMW feeling of being connected to the road and having the car behaving in responsive and predictable ways. Heated seats all around and heated seating wheel and windshield are things you never knew you couldn't live without. Also, navigation system is terrific and reconfigures itself instantly if you miss a turn or just ignore it because you basically know where you're going.
