2023 Cadillac XT5 review
First of all, I purchased the XT5 Sport AWD with the Platinum package, sticker $69,530. Truthfully, this is a fine ride, and a pleasure to drive. Everything is at your fingertips and easy to use. A couple of items I miss would be the floating high beams that come with intellibeams, the accent lighting in the interior was a nice feature. My final complaint, not enough USB ports. It could use a couple on the dash just below the radio.

Too many places baited me with low online prices, only to pile on thousands in hidden fees once I showed up—things like mandatory down payments, wear-and-tear charges, inspection fees, and dealership add-ons. But from this experience, I learned a lot about how dealerships really work and gained some valuable knowledge: never fully trust the prices posted online without confirming the true out-the-door cost in person. After five frustrating in-person visits, I was ready to give up on traditional dealerships and just overpay at CarMax to avoid the headaches. That’s when I spotted a listing on Cars.com from Island Subaru. The vehicle photos clearly stated “No hidden fees, no extra fees – fully transparent OTD price.” Skeptical after so many bad experiences, I decided to try one last time and walked in without an appointment or even a phone call. Right away, I met sales representative Christopher Chavous (everyone calls him Chris). He was patient, professional, and didn’t bombard me with unnecessary questions or personal info. He showed me the Crosstrek I was interested in, sat with me for two detailed test drives, and explained all the features thoroughly. The standout moment? Chris gave me the true out-the-door price immediately—no games, no surprises, exactly matching the online listing with zero hidden fees. In an industry full of tricks, this level of honesty instantly built trust, which is everything when buying a car. After some fair negotiation, the manager approved a solid discount, and we sealed the deal that same day. Since it was Saturday and close to closing (they couldn’t finish the NY inspection), they went the extra mile and loaned me a brand-new Subaru Crosstrek to drive until Monday when my car was ready. Finance manager Yuri Miyakawa handled the paperwork smoothly, got me a great rate, and made everything straightforward. But Chris truly went above and beyond—he guided me through the entire purchase process and even helped set up my first car insurance. The initial quotes were sky-high for a new driver, but Chris personally called the insurance company, advocated on my behalf, and somehow got my rate reduced to half the original quote! I drove home in my Certified Pre-Owned Subaru Crosstrek Limited with just 9k miles, at the exact negotiated price, with all documents perfect, a full tank of gas, a fresh car wash, and three free oil changes for the first year. Island Subaru transformed a potentially nightmare first-time buying experience into something positive and memorable. Their transparency, honesty, and outstanding customer service set them apart. The Luxury and comfort leveli is not the same that. people got from the early 2000's and earlier models.Disappointing and makes you wonder why you are paying an upcharge over a basic gm or chevrolet of same size just for the name

2023 Cadillac XT5 review
This is my second XT5. Had a 2017 and never had a problem. Just got my 2023 XT5 Sport, and wow, maybe too much power for a senior citizen, but I love it. A few changes from the 2017, but love the car. I put other vehicles like the Jeep or GMC as beasts, my XT5 is more like a cat, still get where I want to be with luxury.

I caught on that it was the wrong dealership because of the HORRENDOUS, DISCOURTEOUS customer service I received! The woman that answered the phone had no empathy for my situation. I informed her that I was getting “steering assist reduced” messages, my thermostat was not working and my AC was not working - unfortunate for me because we were in the middle of a heatwave!! She told me there were no appointments for two to three weeks and even if I brought the car in then - there was no guarantee as to when it would be attended to. Also, no rentals for another month! She then put me on hold. I was on hold for so long that my call started bouncing all around throughout the dealership. I grew impatient and frustrated, so I hung up and called back. She answered and literally told me she forgot about me! The whole time I was holding I thought she was trying to get me in sooner!! SMH That’s when I realized that something was wrong because I have NEVER EVER encountered such rudeness and disregard at the Freeport location. I asked if it was the Freeport dealership and she said “no - this is the FARMINGDALE location”. I replied “that explains it” and I hung up! When I called my correct dealership - Paul Conte Freeport - the greeting alone by Christine gave me warmth. Initially, I just asked if there were any available appointments that day. Christine informed me that they were swamped. When I told her what was happening with the car, she POLITELY asked me to hold and when she returned shortly after, she told me to bring the car in right away!! At the dealership I spoke with RYAN. He is AMAZING - he is so professional and has such a pleasant personality (like all the others in that office). After checking the car he informed me that I would have to leave it for at least two days because they were so busy. With concern, he asked me if that would be too much of an inconvenience - I replied that it would not be. He explained everything to me thoroughly and arranged for an Uber to pick me up. I felt well taken care of - two days sounded way better than three weeks at Sarant Cadillac. Much to my surprise - after being home for a couple of hours - Ryan called me and told me THE CAR WAS READY!!!! I was shocked and soo thankful. It really made me feel like a valued customer!! I’m not writing this survey because I was taken care of in such a short time frame - I’m writing it because of the OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE, PROFESSIONALISM, TRUE SINCERE CONCERN FOR MY WELL BEING IN MY VEHICLE, THOROUGHNESS, COURTEOUSNESS, THOUGHTFULNESS, (I really could go on and on LOL) that I received. Now that I’ve experienced elsewhere, I know without a doubt that PAUL CONTE FREEPORT/SERVICE DEPARTMENT is truly OUTSTANDING - NO WHERE ELSE CAN COMPARE!!! I will Forever be in Awe of Paul Conte Cadillac in FREEPORT!💖 Extremely Grateful XT5 Owner, PATRICIA JENKINS

I always enter a new dealership with hesitation; will they have integrity while conducting sales, or be xxxxxxxx going for the quick buck? East Hills was great to work with: clearly a professional and efficient dealership and Paul Whaley, my salesperson, was incredibly thorough in answering my questions and fully accommodating, but never pushy. Karen Rose in Financing was just as through, accommodating and patient with my questions and her pup, Mia, was a joy to meet. Raul, not my salesperson, made for very pleasant conversation during my wait. While I just purchased my car, I've no barometer to guage long-term support/customer care, but I've no worries that East Hills will be just as accommodating (and if not, I'll update this review). When it's time for my new truck, I'll surely return.

Got the XT5 Sport from Paul Conte Cadillac in Freeport, great dealership & great car. has nice power and handles well. reminds me of GMC Acadia Denali I used to have. drove the loaner 26 model for a couple of days, and it has much better electronics + heads up display.
