2024 MINI Hardtop review
A brilliant mark of automotive excellence. An abundance of personality, only to be outdone by my 9lb chihuahua. - 135 horsepower is more than plenty on the freeway, and far too much for the city. - The design of the interior cabin feels I am already in the future, as opposed to the present. - The cabin is also very quiet. I hardly hear cars and noise around me - the sound quality from the sound system is spectacular, and the audio from phone calls is unbelievably clear. - I've never driven a car with better handling. I would say it is in a Goldielocks zone of having enough wiggle for comfort and stiffness for performance.

2021 Tesla Model Y review
The moment I got the demo car onto the highway, I thought to myself, “I LOVE this car!” Which rarely happens. I test drove both the Model 3 and Model Y in snowy conditions, and had not a single bout of fear that I may lose control. 2026 BMW i4 Gran Coupe review
I had casually considered electric cars the last few years and this year took a hard look at electric options, specifically BMW i4 xdrive 40. I couldn't be more pleased with the "electrifing" power of the i4, which seems faster than my two previous M340s. BMW offers the advanatages of an electric vehicle with its trademark high performance and sporty handling. Every friend who has test drove my i4 has been VERY impressed.

2018 Tesla Model S review
After living in a city and not owning a car for 10 years, this has been a pretty amazing car since my first ‘99 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I bought my 2018 Tesla S 75D used in April 2021 for $52k with about 35k miles on it. I saw similar models go for as high as 65k when used car prices went berzerk shortly after and now down to the 30s… But what I love about my car, that is a unique option for 2018, is having both the retractable sunroof and FSD capability. 2018, if my memory is correct, it is the last year a sunroof was available and the first year that the car had the hardware to handle FSD level software. And speaking of FSD, I do think calling it “Full Self Driving” is not really an appropriate description, it still gets a lot closer to autonomous than any other car brand out there currently (Jan 2024), and I don’t think it gets the credit it deserves. I can’t/shouldn’t lose focus of the road, but it does make longer drives a breeze. I don’t trust it completely and sometimes I intervene at times, but for the most part it takes a lot less mental energy out of driving and makes it that much more enjoyable. It’s as close to being a passenger while driving as I’ve gotten. As far as cons, I don’t have the long range battery and I live in the NYC area so when it is cold out especially, I might only get 3/4 of the estimated miles in actual miles. Fortunately it is garage kept at an apt building and probably doesn’t get below 50 degrees in there, and I lay $40/mo fixed to use the shared EV chargers in the building. There’s only few times I’m going on long enough drives to need to charge as long as I remember to charge it fully before going…. But looking back, I do think the longer range option would have been worthwhile. Some other highlights/things I like: - Premium sound option is great, has a small sub on the trunk and high quality mid/high end with a good EQ, so you tweak it to your liking and the quality will hold up all the way to level 11 (a Spinal Tap reference and one of many, many “easter eggs”). - This year was before the yolk steering wheel and pop out screen.. The screen in this year is gigantic, and the brightness adjustments and dark mode option make it less distracting than it sounds. - It’s FAST. I don’t have the ludacrous mode option but it’s still 0-60 in 4.2, and is oh so smooth and quiet on its way up. It also has a lot of “jerk” when you’re wanting to go from 40-60 or something like that too. (Fun math nerd fact- Jerk is the 2nd derivative of velocity and first derivative of acceleration. It’s how quickly acceleration accelerates.) - It’s a big car. The passenger space feels more like a 7 series BMW than a 5 series. And since it’s a hatchback style, it can haul a lot of stuff and some larger items more easily when you fold down the back row. Overall, I think it’s the best sedan on the market, and until another brand matches or surpasses Tesla’s “autopilot” capabilities, I’ll hold onto mine for as long as I can.

2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV review
The car is a floating couch it’s so comfy! The tech is so cool and the big screen gets compliments all the time. Once you get use to its little quirks it’s an awesome car. I wish it charged a little quicker had better speakers and was a little more powerful but those three are fair trade offs for the value and comfort. Looks super cool too my nephew calls it a space car haha.. Good job Chevy!

2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E review
I recently purchased a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, and it delivers exactly what I was looking for—performance, style, and modern innovation in one package. The acceleration is immediate and strong. The instant torque gives it a powerful launch, and the responsiveness makes every drive feel engaging. Whether merging onto the highway or navigating city streets, the Mach-E feels quick, controlled, and confident. Handling is solid, and the ride is smooth without sacrificing that sporty feel. It carries the Mustang character well, just in an electric form. The design also stands out—especially in classic Mustang blue—with a bold, athletic presence that turns heads. Inside, the technology is a major upgrade. The infotainment system is clean and intuitive, and the cabin feels modern and comfortable with premium touches throughout. I’ve driven other EVs like the Tesla Model S Plaid, Rivian R1T, and Nissan Leaf, and each has its strengths, but the Mach-E strikes the best balance between performance and everyday usability. I originally ordered an R1S in Jan 2021 and waited nearly 3.5 years for it to be ready. When they first opened up test drives I nearly canceled my order due to the ride quality of the early builds. However, once it became time to take delivery, the software improvements drastically changed the character of this truck. It honestly sealed the deal given how much better it was, and there was yet another release to address ride quality after delivery which turned this into an extremely comfortable vehicle—on par with the X7, Q7, etc… The air suspension is truly a boon to the capabilities and ride quality as well. Ride quality aside, the performance is unbelievable both in terms of handling and acceleration, especially given the size and weight. On top of that, the ability to go from sport mode and a 3s 0-60 to off road mode with nearly 15” of ground clearance really puts this vehicle in a league of its own. The interior quality is very good, especially compared to Tesla, but not quite luxury-level, though all the details still make it feel special. There are a few rattles here and there, but nothing too out of the ordinary, and all the materials feel nice. Additionally, the range is dead on, and I usually get 2-3 mi/kwh, which is great for a 7000lb suv. In terms of the footprint, the vehicle is both agile and easy to maneuver, yet has tons of interior space and storage. The glass roof really adds to the openness as well, and the heat in the cabin from it hasn’t been bad comparatively. The one gripe I do have is that the suspension is very noisy, and there’s not any remedy for that. Gen 2 is far quieter, but all in all it’s not a deal breaker given how capable and versatile the vehicle is. All the pieces of this vehicle combined really make for such a special package, especially given that they’re still in the early years and not ubiquitous (yet). This is my 9th car and I’ve had many BMWs, a Tesla, and a M-B, yet this one always makes me smile every time I see it and get to drive it. It truly feels like a remarkable machine (and is incredibly fun too).

2023 Lexus RZ 450e review
Absolutely love this car! Smooth, quite and just the right size. Beautiful interior and exterior. Some people complain about range but for me this works great. I'm getting between 3.7 and 3.9 kwh and a range of 255. It's a 2023 RZ450e AWD premium with 18 inch wheels. Not the longest range and not the fastest but true quality.

2022 Tesla Model Y review
The is the FUTURE of automobile transportation! Absolutely FABULOUS car! No more gasoline, no more scheduled maintenance. If you hit the accelerator hard, you'd better have your head against the headrest or you may be injured. Zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds for my 2022 Model Y Performance. Fast charging Tesla Superchargers are always available across the country making long, cross country road trips a pleasure. At home I can charge 300 miles of range over night for $8 of electricity. Yes $8! Super Chargers cost more, but the speed and convenience is well worth the costs on road trips and it's still a fraction of the price of gasoline. I honestly look forward to getting into this car and driving it. I've owned a Mustang, BMW M3 and 5 Series, a Porche, Jaguar, Mercedes SL550, and many more cars. None were as fun to drive as the Tesla Model Y Performance. This is the future of automobile transportation and getting better every day.

2023 BMW i4 Gran Coupe review
I have the M50 version of the iV. I love the independence and drive of the electric car. It has super power, sometimes surprising do. It accelerates instantly and with tons of power. I also love the hatch back; lots of room in the trunk space. My issue with the car is primarily the fact that it really is a sorts car: quite low to the ground, which isn't the easiest at my age (71) to get into. Because of the demand for the car when I bought it, I had to make a decision without really test driving it. The i5 wasn't yet available, and I wanted electric but not the huge iX, so the iV was my only option for an electric at the time. The tires on the car are mounted on 19" rims, so the tire face is thin. This means that the tires puncture or tear quite easily, like just gently scraping a curb. I just bought a set of snow tires with 17" rims but all-season tires are not yet available (hope they will be soon!). This had added a significant unforeseen cost to the annual maintenance if the car. Good car if you aren't troubled by these issues but maybe pass on the iV of you are and head to the i5 or another manufacturers EV.

2023 BMW i4 Gran Coupe review
I've had EVs since 2012. First was a Nissan Leaf, then a VW eGolf, then an Audi A3 etron. Those were all outstanding cars, but compared to all of those the i4 eDrive40 is in a different class. It's very responsive and quick. It feels extremely high-tech and plays Hans Zimmer iconic sounds. When we've gone on longer trips, consistently gets 280-300mi / 100% charge. Unless we're on a trip, I only charge it to 80% and it gets about 220-240mi on a charge. It's amazingly smooth and solid, and the interior is top notch. The M-Sport Pro package with custom color and leather made it at the top of the price range, so from a value perspective it seems excessive.

2025 BMW i4 Gran Coupe review
I test-drove the Tesla Y and the BMW i4. Both had great acceleration and many desirable features. However, the BMW felt more luxurious, higher in overall quality, and newer in design. I have been driving the BMW i4 eDrive 40 for about two weeks. Because I am new to EVs, it took me a while to learn the many features. The dealer process took several hours to explain things and I returned briefly several times to request further explanation on specific points. Owners should be conversant with cell phones and computers to use the features. I am still waiting for the QMerit Level Two Charger to be installed but regular 110 Volt house current has been adequate to recharge the car after a normal commute. The car is actually a hatchback, with the trunk being capable of lifting high. The rear seats fold down, so the trunk is quite voluminous. I didn't like the vertical grills at first but they are growing on me and I consider the car beautiful inside and out. It is a pleasure to drive. I am already wedded to electric cars and doubt I'll ever get another ICE car.

My i4 eDrive 40 is a great car. Plenty of pep. Comfortable interior. Quality construction. GPS/Radio Controls/various interfaces ... not so good. You have to know what you are looking for, and ofter, go down too many levels to get to the proper input/output. More switches and dials would be better.

2026 Volvo EX30 review
Ultra Trim No more gasoline for me. This car is extremely fast and nimble. It's small and that's a plus in city streets It is VERY quiet and the Harman Kardon sound system is very nice. There is a learning curve with this car and as I get more used to the system, the more fun this car becomes. I am using level 1 charging so I just plug into a standard 115V outlet and that is plenty sufficient for me.

2022 Kia EV6 review
This car is amazingly fun to drive: it has a ton of power and torque, and handles like a sports car. I have the Wind AWD w/ Tech Package. The cabin is a good mix of touchscreen and physical knobs/buttons. The Meridian sound system provides fantastic audio. There is a lot of space with the rear seats folded flat.

2021 Tesla Model S review
purchased used with 2,200 miles. At first, I hated it, I've never had an all-electric car and the batter was dead. Luckily they sent someone to jump it. I was still thinking it was a mistake, until I actually drove it and got to know it and learn it. Drives totally different than my corvette. Now I like the Tesla better than my 650hp corvette. It hugs the road like nothing, takes off like a bat out of xxxx. I felt safe and comfortable hitting the pedal to the floor and feeling the rush of this thing taking off and just hanging on to that jet style steering wheel.

Took a while to adjust to electric. Driving is a breeze. Have the full package. Still in process of practicing with the FSD capabilities and use the auto pilot on the interstates. Always cautious around a lot of traffic. Not all cars are teslas and not all drivers are attentive. I enjoy every ride. Tesla just glides down the road. Comfort, safety and a pleasure to drive. Have taken Tesla on road trip from Florida to Colorado and back. Charging stations a plenty. Comfort even on long run days. Switched from FSD to me driving during the trip. I enjoy driving so it was not an issue to drive just a pleasure. Several updates since road trip and some minor issues were addressed. I am a retired truck driver so I do like distance between me and other vehicles. Tesla performed well with cars, cars with trailers but not enough distance between Tesla and big trucks. Passing a truck was an issue for me. I have talked to others they don’t see the problem. Have to get too close to rear of truck to pass and wants to cut in too quick in front a a big truck. Haven’t tried this since last update. Need the space and distance on interstate to test. Too much traffic for me to test it out. Do not have the Tesla charger at home but use a ccs adapter for 40 amp. Charges in about 2 hour time. Charge up to 80 percent on road trip charged. 100 percent and charged at between 30 and 40 percent. Long range average about 250-300 miles between charge. Ran speed limit. I am a little disappointed in other Tesla drivers not sure why but when I look at them and their Tesla they just stick up their nose and look straight ahead. Not that way. Love to share my Tesla have taken my neighbors for rides. Kinda selfish though don’t allow anyone else to drive just ride. Big smile on my face right now. Just talking about my Tesla makes me smile. Can look out my window there Tesla sits. I need a smile all I do is look outside.
