December 26,2025 (Pending Snow Storm) One of the most overused phrases from a car salesperson is : “Our Service Department is the BEST!”. A pending snowstorm, like everyone else I depend on my car too much! Unfortunately, it’s towards the end of the work day and it’s an issue I can’t avoid. We all have certain family and friends that you have on “speed dial”. This is the sentiment I hold for Jamie Nussbaum and his wonderful staff at East Hill Subaru in Roslyn, New York. I made the call and Lisette answered. She immediately understood my issue and responded, “ You know there is a snow storm coming. You need to bring your car here and we’ll take care of it”. Lisette is another example of a true professional that takes great pride in her position. I arrived and was greeted by Service Advisor Justin Peralta. He did the intake and assured me the car would be thoroughly checked out and I would be updated throughout the process. In a short period of time, Lorrie Santiago came to inform me that my car was ready. Lorrie Santiago is always congenial, professional and laser focused on the task at hand. Lorrie’s area is highly efficient, the paperwork and fob were all ready to go. Lorrie informed me of what was completed, asked if I had any questions and personally thanked me for bringing my car to East Hills Subaru. Lorrie is very proud of this organization and it shows every time! Integrity begins at the top! Jamie Nussbaum is an extremely professional individual.His affect is always pensive yet gregarious in nature. Jamie’s attention to detail is reflected in every aspect of his Service Department. The amount of pressure with work orders, pending projects, emergency customer drop-ins could make this Service Department of “FRENETIC HOT ZONE”. However, to the contrary, Jamie’s strong but calming presence guides his ship through another day of success for his entire team. Philip Saccio and Justin Peralta are top Service Advisors. I’ve been most impressed by both of these professionals. These men take their positions most seriously. The initial intakes are thorough, the process is clearly layed out with potential cost and a clear timeline is presented. Philip Saccio and Justin Peralta assure me they are dedicated to success. The man behind the curtain where all the magic happens is Sandro! I call him the “Economist-Master Technician. Sandro always has a smile along with being extremely gifted. His videos that he takes of the work he performs are extremely informative. Sandro will always give suggestions to keep my vehicle at its peak performance. Sandro’s economic background is always integrated into his technical practice. It appears Sandro’s daily mission is to be the best “Economist-Master Technician” every day. Mission Accomplished Sandro! Finally, I have to acknowledge Jamie Nussbaum. He always takes a compliment and deflects to include his team. His conversations with me always demonstrate a pride he has of everyone on his team. I understand his pride in working with these great professionals. I was about to give up but saw a 2014 black on black durango R/T from Croton auto. Called on a whim, didn't think I would really purchase but with the staff going beyond how could I say no. Good deal good car and Great experience from financing to test drive. Gave me a couple hundred off the price before I could ask for it, then gave couple more off again when they couldn't find the second key. I was in and out in about 3 hours and that was because of an issue with my insurance company. I didnt mind driving all the way up from long Island because they really showed me they wanted to earn my business. I don't write too many reviews but I had to give xxxxxxto Croton. Thanks guys.

2023 Subaru Forester review
Likes: spacious interior despite modest exterior dimensions, easy to maneuver, great visibility all around, comfortable ride, good traction, handling, and braking, nice interior finish on sport model, strong steering responsive headlights yet they don't blind opposing traffic, very good optional Harmon sound system, numerous effective safety features, low insurance premiums, adequate acceleration..a few cons: actual economy slightly under EPA estimates, seat may be a bit too firm for some but easy to address by adding a thin seat cushion, mandatory sunroof on all but the base model..I wish Subaru would just make that a single option..rough engine start-stop ..however I disable it each time I start engine so it can be a non issue...no reliability issues yet but since this has a cvt and fairly complex safety features, long term reliability is unknown..

2023 Subaru Forester review
This is our second Forester. Our first was a 2011 Premium we bought as a CPO in 2014 and unfortunately went through the headache of excessive oil consumption within months of buying it. Subaru did eventually replace the engine short block on their dime, but only after repeated oil consumption tests and being told by the dealer service department that it was within normal limits. Calling Subaru of America was the only way we got it resolved. I was impressed that they approved the service, and that's the reason we bought another Subaru. We also have a 2018 Outback Premium in our garage--no oil consumption, and no major issues except replacing the radio for failed lighting behind the volume knob and a minor leak in the oil pan (no dripping underneath the car though) at about 42k miles. We like our 2023 Forester Sport overall, and first and foremost we like its excellent safety ratings and features. I will say the ride is much firmer than our Outback which is only a couple hundred pounds heavier. Wish it had a little more storage in the center console and beneath the climate controls. We look forward to many years of driving with the Forester (and our Outback). Based on our experience, I do feel getting a Subaru-backed extended warranty is worth it for peace of mind (we bought them for our first Forester and now our Outback and both eventually paid for themselves). You DON'T have to buy the warranty when you purchase the vehicle. Call different dealers in your state and ask for their price on an extended warranty for your vehicle--we saved hundreds of dollars by doing this. 2023 Subaru Forester review
The radio and the heat settings leave a lot to be desired. If you’re looking for a heater setting, you won’t find it. Nothing annoys me more than unrequested updates on flood watch/warning. it just can’t be tailored to exactly where you live. But every 6 minutes is a bit of overkill. And our previous Forester had a tray in the middle storage (glove box). Even though we asked our salesman about that, we have heard nothing. Missing the change tray a lot.

2023 Subaru Forester review
LOVE this car, maybe a little biased since this is my 5th Forester, my 2nd Wilderness. My first Wilderness was totaled in a head-on collision when a young driver spilled coffee and veered into my lane and struck me head-on. That was my 1st Subaru Forester Wilderness and IT SAVED MY LIFE. Full curtain all-around airbag deployment with a roll, the Wilderness coming to rest on it's right side, me still strapped into seatbelt, and the Subaru automatic crash notification with a live person on the speakers asking me if I was ok and needed 911! Smoke still coming from the airbag deployments, and there is a live person coming over the speakers asking me if I'm ok. It was surreal. SUBARU FORESTER WILDERNESS SAVED MY LIFE! TYVM Subaru! LOVE this car! Gets 25+ MPG with conservative driving, a great ride and suspension, superior traction in mud and snow, load-out practically anything/rack bikes (or whatever on the roof racks), sleep in the back with ample room, superior rear-gate lift mechanism with memory, seats super-comfortable and easily adjustable, solid rear-seat leg-room, easy rear-seat fold-downs for massive cargo area that takes my full HVAC tool load-out for servicing ice baths all over the NorthEast US. A great value, especially CPO with +10K mileage (vs. new) MONEY WELL SPENT! SUBARU FOR LIFE

I'm compelled to share my good experience at this Carmax dealership. I ordered my car from their Fayetteville store with a free transfer. They kept me informed through text and email of the transfer status. I could have waited for a call but since I knew it arrived I called to schedule a test drive. I had applied online for financing and was approved with little detail but when I called to see if they would transfer to Fayetteville they asked similar questions and got the finalized approval. The salesman on the phone had an instant approval with 3 term options and the corresponding interest rate. He told me what the payment would be. In the end the payment was exactly as they quoted by phone. I expected to be in and out but spent 4 hours there. That probably wasn't normal though. The salesman Bob and I talked too much and he messed up our address in the computer. It happens. The other slowdown was the slight difference between the drivers license name and the credit app name. Oddly enough those small mistakes cost us an extra hour and a half. It happens. Meanwhile during the test drive I noticed a vibration on the highway over 60mph. They decided to have it looked at while we were there and rebalance the tires as well as resurfacing the front rotors. I was honestly surprised that they did the rotors. I didnt mention anything about them. I thought it was just the tires. In the end the vehicle took longer than the purchase process. It was quite an operation they had. They've really streamlined their processes. The financing, trade-in process, transfer process, detailing process, service process etc. Were really wild to see in action. The things I loved: The approval and disclosure process of financing. The transfer process. The minimization of paperwork. The teamwork process of communication. The dealership itself. The cars are all open to look in and sit in without a need for a salesman to get keys. No need for proof of income with fair to less than fair credit. Free coffee and bottled water. Fixing issues on the car while we complete the purchase and paperwork. The cons: small mistakes made very long wait. I'm quicker than them at moving the process forward. No negotiation price is a little high. Tips: as with everything in life do your due diligence. Inspect the car thoroughly. Utilize their carfax and recall information. Consider selling your car elsewhere for more money if you paid off your trade. Push along the process if you want it to go faster. Dont buy their gap insurance. Its overpriced and negates a good deal. Consider an outside warranty company for a better price. Realize a well placed call will hurry the process and verify what one person told you as being true. Place a hold on a vehicle you like for 7 days for free. Apply online to streamline the process.
