Subaru Who Knew?
November 5, 2018
Recently, my beloved VW TDI was recalled due to dieselgate. Four months ago I reluctantly began to consider replacements. A lover of German automobiles, I narrowed the search to an Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC 300, and threw in the Subaru because consumer reports haunted me. My husband and I were in Montgomery from Charlotte for Thanksgiving and capitalized on the free time to look at the vehicles. After test driving both the Mercedes and the Audi the decision was made to go with the GLC. However, I had already spoken to Kyle from Montgomery Subaru so as a courtesy, decided test drive the 2.5 and 3.6 Outback. When we arrived both Kyle and John greeted us at the door and offered water to the weary travelers. (It doesn't sound like much but after an 8 hour car drive, 2 hours in a Mercedes dealership with not even a water fountain offered, it was a huge deal). The car I asked Kyle to test drive was waiting for me at the front without having to look on the lot. (Another huge win over the Mercedes dealer) Now on to the car. The Outback drove well, had all the extras I would have had to pay extra for on the GLC, and was $15k less than the GLC. However, I am still not convinced and I have a few months to look. Kyle sat my husband and I down with John and there was no looking back. Zero haggling, a price that was 6k less than anywhere else I looked, and most importantly respect. I have been in sales a very long time. I will always do business with someone who treats me the way I treat people. Kyle, John, and Tim in financing convinced me I was not a Mercedes driver. I drove home in my new Outback elated I made my first impulsive buy!
