My entry into the world of the roadster.
August 14, 2016
So, I've reached that age, and hairline where all good men decide to buy a roadster.
I started my search with the MR2. After having a 4Runner (the mule) for many years, I am convinced that the Toyota reliability is no myth.
However, I was tempted to go the Boxster, Z3, Z4 path.
After having a Z4 fall off of the market before I could get out to see it, I began looking back at that MR2 that started my search.
I called the owner, and arranged the test drive. Then I bought it on sight.
Sure there are more powerful roadsters, but it isn't about that. It is about fun. This is one fun little car.
It is remarkably comfortable as well. I'm not sure how, but the seats are road trip worthy, and leg room is ample. You don't feel confined.
I will say that there is no dignified way of getting into or out of the vehicle. Then again, as a middle aged, bald, white guy - dignity isn't my first concern.
Anyway, if you have the opportunity to buy one of these, you really should.
It is just a fun piece of solid engineering.
