Don’t buy from them or have your car serviced!

Don’t buy from them or have your car serviced! Dave smith was purchased by Sonic motors and now they won’t honor the lifetime oil change we purchased. I’d never give a company like that my business!!! Pretty deceiving to keep the dave smith name, have a customer schedule the free oil change then once it’s done tell us you don’t honor it anymore and charge us 81 bucks. Terrible customer service

A service department we trust!

We are very impress with the service department, Dan was our service advisor who was very courteous and trustworthy! We brought our car in for the 40,000 service. The service techs did a a wonderful job, thank you! Previously we had been told by a tire store a few months ago we needed a repair done, we waited and said we would have it looked into by the dealership. So we ask Dan if he could have the technician look into the questionable repair for us also. There was not any repair needed. We were lied to by the tire store… we are so grateful for the honesty and will continue to make this our future dealership. The distance is worth the peace of mind. Thank you so much! Diane

Poor communication, felt like I was not a priority, took several days to get information, no pictures because salesman was "off" and car was being detailed, then after I contact sales asking why I'm not getting any contact, I get a text with "oops, sorry, but it was sold last night". Sad that Dave Smith hires sales staff with lack of follow through and honesty.

Worst experience of my life!

Worst experience of my life! Avoid service department. They treat you horrible when they make mistakes and you find them. A simple oil change gone to disaster due to tech error & a oil cap forgotten put on after ok change. Their error became my fault! Oil causing issues no help. Truck breaking down constantly now sensors flying up Jennifer service Dept boss is horrific person! Avoid them! had they k a week still didn’t fix problems! They clear codes then let you drive away without repairs. Then blame you! Warranty repairs even!

Shady, Poor Ad and Sales Practices Ruined My Day!

It was the worse car shopping experience in 40+yrs. They do not sell their cars for the advertised price. That price is ONLY if you finance and this is not disclosed. Ad said $15K when I asked questions about price and financing, they would not disclose what their interest rate is without personal information. All dealers know what their interest rates are - this is shady. I was paying cash and said so, so I didn't really care about financing. I drive the car, like it and want to buy it. Now the car $3K more because the ad price is with financing - NEVER Disclosed even though I said the price the car and asked about their financing. I believe that I was targeted because I'm older and female. The manager was a terrible at his job and just made me furious when the salesperson went to get him when I went to walk out. I did not like having my time wasted, nor do I like the fact that it ruined my day and my record for always enjoying buying a new-to-me car.

They charged my daughter two hours of time to fix a problem that we had identified prior to making our appointment. 1 hour labor charge for diagnostics (same diagnosis as what we told them prior to the appointment) and 1 hour for installing an update. Ridiculous amount of time. Took total advantage of the situation.

Service department did not rotate my tires. My tires had been rotated at 5000 miles and this service took place at approximately 24,000 miles. I was unaware of this until I decided to review all of the service paperwork later. My cabin air filter was in backwards and the piece that secures the filter was missing. I suppose that some of the service techs are careless. Make sure you check their work and that they rotate the tires. I am having to buy a new set of tires earlier then I would have had to if the tires had been rotated.

Best car buying experience I've ever had!

Travis Beck was wonderful. He listened, didn't pressure us, was straight forward, gave us options and sealed the deal. We weren't planning on buying tonight but he found us the perfect car and Jon Allen got us the perfect deal. We couldn't be happier.

We bought a 2011 Ford Escape with only 60,000 miles from...

We bought a 2011 Ford Escape with only 60,000 miles from Dave Smith at the beginning of 2020. We started hearing a knocking sound and took it in to their service department to be looked at in May 2021. They told us we needed to replace the engine. We got the engine replaced and was quoted $3,000. It took them a month to complete because they dropped the first replacement engine and broke the components and had to get a 2nd replacement engine. They said this 2nd engine was $200 off. When they were finally done, we went to pick up the Escape and the bill was for well over $3,700. When I said something the service writer left and came back a few minutes later with an updated bill of $3,300. That’s fine, but within 2 weeks it started making a rotational grinding noise, so we took it back to Dave Smith. They had it for 3 days and came back to say it was both left hand wheel bearings. We were quoted $1100 for them to repair. After some research, we saw it was almost twice the average cost for that repair. We took it to a local brake shop for the repair and they said the wheel bearings were fine, and to take to a regular shop. We took it to a local mechanic, and they found it was the left transmission bearing was bad, possibly caused by Dave Smith’s engine replacement. They had it confirmed by a transmission shop that was the issue. I should note that both the mechanic shop and the transmission shop stated the wheel bearings were fine. Now we need a new transmission. We have been trying to contact Dave Smith’s Service department to try and get this remedied. We have had our calls ducked and have had multiple voicemails ignored.
