What Is the 2024 Cadillac XT6?

The 2024 Cadillac XT6 is a three-row luxury mid-size SUV with seating for six or seven people, depending on whether a second-row bench or dual captain’s chairs are ordered. Available with front- or all-wheel drive, the XT6 comes standard with a 237-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Optional is a 310-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 that packs more straight-line punch. The XT6’s competitors include the Acura MDX, Infiniti QX60, Lexus TX and Volvo XC90

Should I Buy the 2024 Cadillac XT6?

The Cadillac XT6 is right in the thick of the luxury three-row SUV battle. Working in its favor is an ample lineup of tech and safety features, not to mention a fuel-efficient turbo four-cylinder that’s decently powerful for most driving situations. This engine gets decent fuel economy, though it misses a beat (or two) if you’re after swift acceleration. The optional V-6 does have the edge in performance, of course, and it doesn’t equate to a massive drop in fuel economy, either. Cargo room with every seat occupied gets tight, however, and the interior ambiance isn’t really opulent enough for the prices Cadillac asks. Thankfully, the XT6’s infotainment system is excellent, and it responds quickly to touchscreen commands.

The XT6 was intermittently failing ever other day with an unbelievable amount of safety problems for driving. It would stall when engine should restart at a stop. Transmission would completely disengage and drop back into gear with the engine revving on a slow curve, the front crash, avoidance system shut down the car dead pulling into the driveway with nothing there collision avoidance? A great deal of warning lights would be flashing. I spoke to a dealership and they did a prior history check in the operational electronics had significant failures prior to me getting the vehicle. I had to get the vehicle towed back to the dealership due to be completely unsafe for predictable driving.( beautiful SUV.) unfortunately seems to be a lemon thanks Gm engineering failure.

No issues and it is much better than electric cars. Safer and much less expensive to own. Also much more convenient for normal driving .Not weekly range anxiety as I had when I owned an electric car. Never buy electric again.

  • We recently downsized from an Escalade to our XT6 Sport

We recently downsized from an Escalade to our XT6 Sport with Platinum, Technology, and Driver Assist packages. It is the perfect balance of luxury and sport and is a great family vehicle while still being fun to drive. The gas mileage is definitely an improvement and the ride is smooth. I love the panoramic sunroof and suede upgrade, my husband loves the fancy brakes. Our youngest son is 6’5” and I wasn’t sure he’d fit in anything other than a full size SUV back seat though he does fit fine. Highly recommend this for family or fun! While I prefer the luxury look on the Escalade, the sport package is more aesthetically pleasing to me on the XT6.

  • The best car I have driven in many many years.

The best car I have driven in many many years. I feel very safe in this vehicle. I love the power it has without hesitation. The info tainment is easy to learn and fun, and I love love love the Bose speakers and the ride is so smoooooth, like floating on a cloud, just watch your front in when a huge dip is in front of you the front end is low. I was also impressed with the lock out lug nuts, which was a total surprize to me but what an awesome thing to be on a vehicle, im impressed. The moon roof makes you feel as tho you really are on a cloud and you can touch the stars. Everyone remember no car is perfect but this one is at the Top of the list of vehicles to own. I have driven a lot of new vehicles of all shapes and sizes all basic and luxury and premiums, but nothing compares to my XT6 sport addition the red brake pads stand out ladies so if your driving one of these you will get a lot of attention from gentlemen. Only draw back is it depreciates in value way too much to fast and the insurance is high but it is all worth it to know you are in a safe zone while driving in all conditions. Drives fantastic in the rain. I bought the blue one and I couldn't go anywhere without some one complimenting me on my car. I have met a lot of people while owning my car but no proposals yet. Lol 😁 I really can't say enough about this car, it's like finally Cadillac made all my dreams come true and then some and they have won a life long customer. Keep it up Cadillac but don't forget the poor man's budget. We all need a well rounded vehicle that can sustain us for years. My thanks goes out to you. Sincerely Kim Watts

  • It’s a very comfortable car overall.

It’s a very comfortable car overall. It rides like a Cadillac. The interior could have more, especially for the price of the vehicle. The 3.6 v6 gets great fuel economy, and is fun/sporty combined with the fast shifting 9 speed transmission. It has all the tech I’d ever need in a vehicle. Reliability (so far) has been great. Only oil changes, tire rotations, and an alignment to maintain that Cadillac ride. If I didn’t plan on buying a camper to tow, I’d definitely buy another!

  • Long time Cadillac owners favorite

This is our second XT-6. We had a 2020 and used it for frequent road trips in addition to local errands. The fuel economy for a car of this size and with the performance that is available from this powertrain is great. The car is comfortable to get into and out of for senior citizens. The amenities like heated steering wheel and seats is also nice in the northern climates. All in all a great car that is stylish and fun to drive. We have had seven or eight Cadillacs over the course of our 40 years of marriage, everything from an SRX to an Escalade and an XTS but this is our favorite for all around driving.
