Vehicle Overview

The Camaro is a rear-wheel-drive performance car whose lineage dates to the 1960s. Offered in coupe and convertible body styles, the Camaro is available with V-6 or V-8 power. A high-performance ZL1 edition powered by a 580-horsepower, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 is also available in either body style, and for 2014 Chevrolet has resurrected the Z/28 model as a coupe with a 505-hp, 7.0-liter V-8. The Camaro competes with other retro-inspired muscle cars including the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang.

  • Camaro convertible gains structural reinforcements like a tower brace under the hood, a reinforcement brace for the transmission and underbody bracing

Camaro ZL1
Available as a coupe or convertible, the Camaro ZL1 aims straight for the Ford Shelby GT500 with its 580-hp, supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that makes 556 pounds-feet of torque. All that power is routed to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic with three different modes: Drive, Sport and Manual. The manual transmission also comes with Launch Control, and GM’s Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension is standard. It includes three modes: Tour, Sport and Track.

  • Distinctive front-end styling sets the ZL1 apart from regular Camaros
  • Aluminum hood has a carbon fiber insert
  • High-intensity-discharge headlights and 20-inch wheels
  • Heated leather seats with microfiber inserts and ZL1 logos on the head restraints
  • 7-inch touch-screen radio with Chevrolet’s MyLink multimedia system
  • Rear parking sensors and a backup camera

Camaro Z/28
The original 1967 Z/28 was designed for racing, and Chevrolet says the 2014 edition also focuses on track capability. It comes only as a coupe with a six-speed manual transmission and aerodynamics optimized for high-speed driving. It saves weight by using a lighter battery and making air conditioning optional.

  • Powered by a hand-built 7.0-liter V-8 that generates 505 hp and 481 pounds-feet of torque
  • Rides on lightweight 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires
  • Brembo-brand carbon ceramic brakes
  • Recaro-brand seats
  • Air conditioning and six audio speakers are available

  • Overall it's a very good car for what it is.

Overall it's a very good car for what it is. Wish it had more torque than horsepower The blind spots are pretty bad but you get used to it. Love the styling of the car but it could be better on performance but for a V6 it's not bad

  • I love my Camaro.

I love my Camaro. I got it with 30,000 miles and I am now at 89,000. It has been extremely reliable. My only concern now is the Active Fuel Management system as I have an automatic transmission system.

  • Lock in car no way out dead battery/ alternator

My alternator went out as i was sitting in my yard. I was locked in my car. one of chevy finest security features. I couldn't get out everything in that car is run off the battery even the door locks u can't unlock manually. To get out i had to climb thur my trunk. And pull the emergency trunk cable to pop my trunk. If i would have went into a lake or something i wouldn't stand a chance of making ot out alive

  • Great car

Leased a '13 2SS convert from mid '13 to mid '17. It was a great car that needed no repairs in about 50K miles. It was however not that comfortable for long trips. That's the only bad thing I can say about it, that and the need for premium fuel.

  • It lived up to the hype 11 year old me hoped for

The 5th gen camaro is a special car. It performs and handles extremely well. The interior quality is a little iffy but is laid out well and overall looks very nice. Visibility is awful at best. The clutch pedal and shifter feel are very easy to learn and direct. 11 year old me fell in love with these cars and I’m still in love now that I own one.
