2022 Dodge Challenger review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2022 Dodge Challenger?

The Dodge Challenger is a two-door coupe that seats up to five people. It has a standard 303-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. V-6 Challengers can have rear- or all-wheel drive.

Four V-8 engines are also available, including a 485-hp 6.4-liter and a supercharged 6.2-liter that makes 717, 797 or 807 hp, depending on the model. A six-speed manual transmission is available on select V-8-powered trims. Competitors include the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro

Should I Buy the 2022 Dodge Challenger?

If you’re looking for a powerful, fast muscle car with throwback styling, the Challenger — especially in higher trims — is likely to satisfy. We recommend skipping the V-6 for one of the available V-8s, however, because the base engine just doesn’t deliver the experience this car is trying to sell.

2022 Dodge Challenger

Just hit 10k miles. I have bought so many brand new cars in my life and this is the only car that has not had to go back to the dealer for warranty repair. So thrilled with it. Drives great, plenty of power and so responsive. Good looking too. Very comfortable in the front seat. All around a great car. Dodge has me for life!

1972 now a 2022 a 50 year later present.!!!

I owned a 1972 Challenger and 50 years later ordered one as a retirement present ( 2022 Chandler ScatPack Widebody with Shaker Hood). A nice ride for a muscle care, powerful with the 6.4 liter engine, a great look and highly recommend getting one if interested before this style goes away.
