The money pit that wouldn't quit
The Dodge Dakota was nothing special. Just a mid sized truck. Like most dodge trucks from the 90's it had a bulletproof engine that could most likely last a million miles. Now only if the rest of the truck could have lasted half as long then maybe Toyota would have had a run for their money. If you are the kind of person that does not mind running around in a truck that has A/C and a Radio that are just for looks and may or may not break down on you depending on the amount of duct tape and zip ties you have stashed in the back seat. You have found a winner!
Worst vehicle ever!
In the first 12 years I owned the vehicle, it went through 3 timing chains, a complete AC rebuild and about 16 sets seized of front calipers. Got tired of throwing money at it and parked it 10 years ago. Though it still runs and drives, It's just yard art now. I'm too scared to put it back on the road, or sell it, because it's just going to be a dangerous money pit for somebody,as the brakes can't be upgraded to work properly. So I'll just let it rust in peace.
it is good on gas and good for work. we pulled a tire and rim that was stuck in the ground out. Its good to ride around in
