What Is the 2019 Lexus NX?

The Lexus NX 300 compact luxury SUV and its hybrid variant, the NX 300h, slot below the RX in Lexus’ lineup. The NX 300 gets a 235-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a six-speed automatic transmission; the NX 300h’s hybrid drivetrain includes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors for a total system output of 194 hp. Both models seat up to five people and compete with the Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50 and Volvo XC60.

What’s New on the 2019 Lexus NX?

Models built after Oct. 1, 2018, include Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity. Meanwhile, the subscription-based Lexus Enform Remote feature adds functionality, allowing users to access remote start and door lock features using a smart watch in addition to their smartphone.

What Features in the 2019 Lexus NX Are Most Important?

Besides standard Apple CarPlay for 2019, all NX trims include a host of electronic safety and convenience features, including a Wi-Fi hot spot (subscription required after initial trial), pedestrian detection with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. The hybrid NX 300h has standard all-wheel drive and gets an EPA-estimated 31 mpg combined – 6 mpg better than the front-drive NX 300.

Should I Buy the 2019 Lexus NX?

The NX offers a high-quality interior with a surprisingly roomy backseat in a reasonably sized and easy-to-handle package. While the NX 300h gets better mileage, its drivetrain responses and mushy brakes diminish the driving experience. The SUV’s touchpad interface isn’t great to use, either.

  • Reliable car I owned

Get settled in for the long haul as this Lexus NX 300h makes for a great road-trip car. Both the front and rear seats are comfortable and supportive. Combine that with a plush ride, a quiet cabin and strong climate control system.

  • Do not recommend, defective car!

This is my second Lexus NX 300 H 2019, unfortunately, it is the second defective vehicle I got, it has the same major defect, not sure why Lexus keep building defective cars, Lexus of Escondido was able to buy it back from me the first defective car and now I got a second defective car, it does exactly the same, dinging sound when you come up to the vehicle and you open your door dinging sound, when you stop your vehicle turn the car off, engine off, and open the door, the dinging sound comes on, however when you stop the car, keep the engine on, Open the door, no dinging sound, it is pretty dangerous as you could walk away from your car with the engine on because no dinging sound, there is some major major problem with the software it works backwards. As when the car is running and you open the door the dinging sound should be on, but when you turn the car off and open the door there should not be dinging sound, as it is very annoying, huge inconvenience as you could not be on the phone nor arriving late at night as you going to be waking up all your neighbors, so to avoid that you have to leave the car running, but then you could walk away and forget to turn it off, again Lexus has been building defective cars, it is my second one exactly the same model and the year and exactly same problem. Would not recommend this model to anyone until they going to fix the problem!

  • Love her!

I did my research. Was it worth the extra money over the similar Rav 4.. YES! I downsized from an older RX 400 so the size is taking some getting used to. The seats are extremely comfortable, the steering and brake system are fantastic, the interior is stylish and quiet with very little noise from outside. Sound system and easy to use finger pad are on point. Only thing I’m not loving, this push start ignition is good, but there is no where to put my key ring. I’m always taking up a cup holder (minimal complain I know)! I feel like there is little storage in the cab, no place for sunglasses, keys..etc. also. I’m having a hard time figuring out the programming of how my texts can pop up, (user error I know, but I’ve spent lots of time on youtube and in the manual to figure out how to program everything.) I was hoping I could get Alexa to work since it said Lexus and Alexa are now compatible, apparently the iPhone version is not ready yet. But I’m knit picking . MOST IMPORTANTLY this car has brake assist that truly saved me from becoming a pancake this morning! All the safety features I never had are wonderful. I feel safe and that’s most important, especially here in Southern California- crazy drivers!

  • Perfect combination of size, comfort & performance

Handles well, is extremely smooth on the road and is deceptively roomy for those occasional Home Depot runs, etc. The hybrid makes it easy on the gas budget. Great car.

  • This was the best in customer service

Best Lexus yet. Tony Viveiros was so helpful in choosing the right car for me. I just love it . I had no idea what a hybrid would be like. I would recommend this car and dealership to every one. Very professional and knowledgeable.

  • I love this car!

This car practically drives itself with its lane safety and front radar features that force the car to stay in one lane and never have a rear end accident. Not to mention the cruise control that allows the car to accelerate and decelerate on its own.

  • Good ride - but Not sure worth the extra $$.

Great car - a little noisier than I would expect from a Lexus. A little small for me (~6 feet) Perfect for my wife (~ 5'5") Do NOT take Yokohama OEM tires arriving on most models. AWFULLY NOISY for bad traction, bad treadwear and mpg performance. We had them replaced w Michelin option in first two weeks! (Better - still not best -Continentals would still be better....) Car is just SUPER cool around town. Great on highway, but a bit tiring on longer trips. NOT quite as comfortable and refined as old Lexus 400H. Fundamentally, qualitatively less car than 450Rh.

This car is slightly smaller than my previous RX400h. Easier to take care of and easier to park. Has more features to learn. Rear camera, and surround view is an awesome feature for driving, as well as parking.
