With very good gas mileage for its class, a roomy interior and good driving manners, the 2017 Lexus NX 300h hybrid is a sensible small luxury SUV, but its optional multimedia interface is maddening.

What We Don't Like

  • Frustrating Remote Touch interface
  • Limited power reserve for high-speed passing
  • Some interior trim, buttons could be nicer
  • Wind and tire noise on the highway
  • Apple CarPlay, Android Auto not offered
  • High-pitched whirring sound when slowing down

Notable Features

  • Five-seat compact SUV
  • Gas-electric hybrid drivetrain
  • All-wheel drive standard
  • Wireless device charging available
  • Automatic emergency braking available
  • Gas-only turbocharged NX 200t offered
