I've had two excellent experiences with Shockley Honda when buying a car from them. The first was a little over a year ago and the second experience was last week. I found an excellent 2018 CR-V at a very reasonable price, but had a disabled trade-in over 65 miles away. Shockley not only gave me a fair amount for the trade-in, but also arranged to both deliver my "new" vehicle and pick up the "old" vehicle, saving me quite the effort to arrange things otherwise. My sales guy was Chris Collinson and handled everything from start to finish. There was no high-pressure sales or hidden add-ons. There was no pressure to use their financing when I told them I had my own. I appreciate the respectful way I was treated. It really seemed like I was his only customer that day when I knew I wasn't. Plus, it didn't stop there! Chris made the delivery from Frederick to Parkville himself and has followed up with me to make sure all is well and that I am happy with the car and his service. 2019 Acura MDX review
My current car is a 2019 MDX. I absolutely love it. My previous car was a 2012 MDX. The only reason I don’t have that car is my daughter “totaled it” 2 days after getting her license. BUT my daughter walked away, unhurt, no broken bones, no concussion, not even a bruise. I thought the car would look like a mangled mess, just looked like it went off roading. I had no idea these were TANKS on the road. I will continue to drive these now that I know. The 2019 is very similar to the 2012, but love the apple car play, lane assist, and better gas mileage.

2024 Acura MDX review
We’ve owned Acura’s since 1991. Have had sedans and SUV’s. Both MDX and RDX. This is the best one yet. The technology is unbelievable. The ride is superb. The comfort and roominess are second to none. The safety features are remarkable. Can’t say enough about this vehicle.

I don't trust used car salesmen or dealers. I believe their general reputation for hype and dishonesty is well deserved. My experience with South Street Auto was remarkable not only because it contrasted with nearly every other used car dealer I have visited over many years. It was absolutely positive. This is a professional operation. Here are the details in brief. I went there on a Saturday to look at a 2004 Volvo, which was advertised at a price $2000 below book value. The test drive was good, and the car seemed to be exactly as they advertised. They said their mechanic had checked it out thoroughly. But I wanted my Volvo mechanic to inspect it. They were very accommodating. We agreed that I would tentatively buy the car, and they would wait to put through the paperwork until they heard from me by the end of the day on Monday. On Monday my mechanic found three items of concern: a noise in the alternator that sounded as if it were near the breaking point, a leak in the power steering reservoir, and a crack in the seating for one shock absorber. South Street Auto was surprised by the finding, but readily acknowledged that these were meaningful concerns. I proposed a compromise: they would replace the alternator, and I would repair the other two problems at my mechanic. Within an hour the salesman had the owner's approval for this compromise. They replaced the alternator with a new one the next day while I waited there. Bottom line: South Street Auto is a company with honest, decent salespeople who treat you with respect, and who are willing to admit a mistake and to help in correcting it. The car is terrific, and was a great value even with the $450 in repairs, and the experience buying there was first rate. Let me note that I am a real buyer, I am not a relative or friend of anyone at South Street Autos, and they did not ask me to write this review (and don't know I am writing it).
2011 Acura RDX review
Best Ever. 260,000 miles. Faults, Front Axles and universal, good for 60,000 miles, P2263 check engine alarm due to part failure for turbo actuator. I have bought 6 front axles for this vehicle. It will not pass vehicle inspection with the check engine alarm.

2018 Acura RDX review
My third RDX.Purchased in 2018 Was the last year of the 6 cylinder.My first was 2008 turbo 4 cyl.awd.Great car and peppy.Second was 2013 6 cylinder.Even better than the 4 cyl turbo. Now 6 years into my 2018 rdx I have no regrets.Love the peppiness of the 6 cyl and I'm using Michelin Cross Climate 2's for 2/3 of the year and michelin iceX for winter driving in NH. I know I could get better gas mileage with a hybrid but am unwilling to go to a lesser performing vehicle. I never have dealer service but go to a local mechanic for all maintenance. I love this car! Has 105,000 miles.

2024 Acura Integra review
I traded a bmw 330 for this. I am very happy. The bmw was unreliable and a joy to drive. The integra is reliable an almost as fun, and much cheaper and more confortable. I wish i had considered the integra before.

2023 Acura TLX review
I had a 21 TLX advanced with the 2.0 L four-cylinder turbo and in 2023 I traded it for the TLX type S. What a shockingly different car. Granted the car probably has about 75 hp less than it should from the factory but, it’s easy to tune and mine is in the 435 hp range now. It was a great car to begin with and now it’s even better. There are a couple nagging issues with it: the brakes rattle, the Brembo brakes upfront, the pads on the inside, rattle like a bad ball joint whenever you hit a bump. The dealer couldn’t fix the problem and Acura told them “that’s the way it is, they are performance brakes“ well that’s a bunch of hog wash so I fixed it myself. Just an inexpensive shim on the inside pad and all was fixed. There are some long-term issues that IJust an inexpensive shim on the inside pad and all was fixed. There are some long-term issues that I am concerned about: the rear suspension plug for the adaptive suspension can get corroded over overtime and the entire car needs to be stripped apart to replace a wire harness. I haven’t had an issue with this, but I did grease my rear plugs just to be on the safe side. And these cars are known to have transfer case issues, resulting in a transmission replacement. Again, I haven’t had that issue, but the car only has 9000 miles on it. Just things that I am concerned about long-term as it seems Honda/Acura reliability, even though better than anything out there, isn’t what it used to be. But this is a fantastic car! And I would absolutely buy it again.

2020 Acura MDX review
Purchased a 2020 Acura MDX in August 2024. Very reliable, luxury, decent on gas that has a nice V6 engine. I like the 2 screen display, the on and off button for the radio is fairly cheap. Love the LED front lights! So far so good!

My PMC edition is #66 of only 200 made. The NSX color of Long Beach Blue is unique to the RDX PMC and looks fabulous. This mid-size SUV does everything well. I'd find it hard to have made a better choice for myself. And, I am a former NSX owner as well

2018 Acura MDX review
I purchased a used 2018 Acura MDX Feburary 2025.I have owned it for just over a month. Driving and handling are very solid. The interior is great--especially the seats. You will read several folks discussing the entertainment system and other controls. Really nice features, just learn how to use them correctly. The only issue I did not like was the "lane assistance" feature--so I turned it off. If you are in the market for a luxury SUV go test drive one yourself. Price, quality, and reliability are hard to beat.

2016 Acura RLX review
Bought this car 2 years ago. Very underrated car! Driven this car 3K miles round trip 3 times in 24-hour trips, seats were very comfortable, very quiet even with the stereo off, 29 mpg. It makes me smile every time I drive or look at it. This car is worth the look. I HAVE the Technology Pkg in pomegranate red/seacoast. A fun drive, especially in Sport mode. Voice-activatation sometimes "mishears', but the ACC, BSI, CMBS work impressively. A/C cools cabin in 3-5 mins in 115F in LAS summer! KEEP it maintained and you will have a very reliable car. Performance is impressive, tech is off the hook! Worth a test drive....

I was shopping for a very specific Corvette convertible and found a 2006 available at South Street Autos. Since I am from central New Jersey and was facing a 3 hour 25 minute drive to Maryland(according to Mapquest), each way, I called hoping to get some information about the car that was not listed on the website. Wayne was extremely helpful and courteous on the phone, answering all my questions. Most cars look great on the internet and then you get there and it's not what you expected or hoped for. Wayne and John were totally upfront and honest about the car. They were very understanding of how far away I was and were kind enough to pre-negotiate the price on the phone (most dealers would not do this) and provide me with an "out the door" price so that all I had to do was make the drive there and hope it was everything they said it was. Well, I made the trip and it was as beautiful in person as it looked online and was EXACTLY as they had described it. Because we worked out a price that was fair to everyone and the car was what I was "sold" on the phone, I bought the car on the spot and am thrilled with my purchase and the quality of the car. I would definitely make the 6-7 hour round trip again to buy a car from them, it was well worth it! Thank you for your honesty and fairness!
2009 Acura TSX review
This car is basically a suited up Honda Accord of it's time. It was actually sold as an Accord in Europe during this time. It's a great vehicle with amazing reliability. However, right around 150-160K miles you will most likely need to re-do the timing chain as I did recently (~$1500). A very common issue in this 2.4L motor. I bought my 2010 with 30K miles on it out of a lease and currently have 160K miles on it. I've only had to do regular maintenance and the car still runs great.

It is a very nice vehicle… a few exceptions… no heated steering wheel, no remote start no foot controlled rear lift gate and a few other amenities that comes with many other comparable vehicles. The trim levels do not make a lot of sense like aspec is considerably more expensive but only a few amenities and the advanced is almost 20k more for a few options that are stock with Lexus and other high end suv…

I was interested in a Nissan NV 2500. Viewing several of these vehicles on cars.com and other sites. I decided to make the trip to Trust Auto in Maryland from West Virginia. About a 4 1/2 hour trip. I had talked to David on the phone to make sure the Nissan was still available and explained when I could be there to look over the vehicle. We made the trip in good time only running into one delay. Upon meeting David he brought the vehicle up to the front of the dealership and told us to inspect it, which is what we did. I had two top mechanic with me. While we knew the vehicle had been in an accident, the repair work was very well done on found a few bolts missing. One in the valance and the other from the inner fender. This could have been from the accident or just from being a service vehicle. A little over 94,000 miles on it. The detail shop did a great job on their work. Very chean for sure. After running the computer test, we took the Nissan NV for a test drive. It did not disappoint. Extremely happy with everything we saw and felt during the test drive. Steering was solid and tracked well. No pull to either side while driving. Throttle response was perfect as well as the braking system. The comfort of the Nissan NV was Avery pleasant surprise. The ride was almost as good as my Lincoln MKZ, almost.😎 Much like a 2006 GMC dually I had in 2007. Very nice. When returning to the dealership myself and the two mechanics talked things over and decided to go to the next step. After a little negotiation we settled on a fair price and made the purchase. David was very kind to us and I feel like we got a great deal. We finished the paperwork and was ready to leave but we were blocked in by another vehicle. I backed back into the parking spot when one of the ladies that worked there said she would move the vehicle so we could be on our way. She came back within a few minutes moved the vehicle and with a big beautiful smile waved goodbye to us as we left. That truly made my day😇. Trust Auto in my opinion is a great dealership and when I need another vehicle, they will be the first ones I will go to. 2023 Acura TLX review
TLX platform is absolutely excellent. The car has fantastic road feel thanks to double wishbone suspension and redesigned chassis. The DCT transmission feels precision and having 10 gears puts you in the perfect torque range almost always. The engine is a Honda K engine that can handle 1k hp. I have fwd which is absolutely perfect, simple car. The SH-AWD system is truly best of its kind. The fact that this almost perfect platform was discontinued is a sad commentary on the state of cars.

2023 Acura RDX review
We bought our 2023 Acura RDX Tech model at the end of March 2023 as a Certified Used Car. It had 13,200 miles at the time of purchase. We truly enjoy the car, but there a couple of minor issues that we hope that get resolved when we have it serviced in the near future. The window seal at the driver's door makes a whistling sound above 35 mph. There is a loud clunk that occurs when we first start the car and put it in reverse. We believe that the clunk is coming from the sunroof mechanism, not the transmission since seems coming from above the rear seats. The infotainment/navigation system is difficult and distracting to use. We were aware of the complicated infotainment system before we bought the car, and we decided we could live it. Fortunately we are able to overcome that issue by using Apple CarPlay. The car is very comfortable and handles well. Looks great. We appreciate all of the luxury features.

2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid review
Wanted to make the change from myAudi A6 Quattro to an SUV, My wife has the Lexus 450h. After driving several models (mostly new) of SUVs, my research lead me to Acura and the 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid. I found only 5 in the entire nation and flew from CO to CA (Oakland Acura) to buy it. First off is Acura’s great CPO program. Next is the refined styling and features (I have the Advanced package). The hybrid engine is smooth and I get from 24-27 mpg in combined driving. The acceleration and shifting is very smooth (I think my wife likes my Acura better than her 450h as she is very complimentary of the vehicle when she get in). The adaptive cruise is OK but I find it a little awkward and I am OK not using for the few times I am on the open road. I find the engine shut off at stops to very responsive when I accelerate and I don’t even realize it is present (maybe that’s the benefit of the hybrid vs the non-hybrid model). The Sh-AWD works very well in the CO snow and I have no problems getting anywhere. Originally looked at other brands (Audi, BMW, Lexus) but glad I found Acura and the Sport Hybrid MDX. Would gladly buy again. One item of note is the Hybrid is NOT for towing! If you want to pull anything, might need something else.

2018 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid review
This is my second MDX, and my first Hybrid. It's great but...at 27K miles the transmission required warranty replacement. The Black Copper Pearl color is head-turning gorgeous. Infotainment not so good, but Android Auto/Apple Car Play is a good workaround. solution
