I purchased my new Ram after a friend of mine bought one and told me about their service. My entire deal was struck over the phone and I picked up my truck without even test driving it. But that is a quirk of mine! They were Southwest Autoplex back in December but were already changing over to Sterling motors. They gave me lifetime free oil changes and since I only get to Jennings when I have court, they agreed to take me to court if I dropped the truck at their dealership.
Very impressive to me.
It has been my experience when dealing with the service department that they need a total reorganization to improve customer service. The service at the Chevrolet and Cadillac dealership in Jennings does not favorably compare with other service departments that I have dealt with in other cities. There is little coordination between the parts and service personnel to show when a part has been received for a service. They fail to notify the customer that the part has been received so the customer can schedule their vehicle in for the required service. When talking to the service representatives, their reply is that they are too busy and understaffed to follow up on each customer. The parts department doesn’t always inform the service department that the part has been received. So the customer keeps waiting to be called by the service department. This call is usually not made. I would hope the management at the Jennings Chevy dealership make a change on how the service department operates to provide better customer service in the future. A larger service department would help tremendously.
I have purchased several vehicles from this dealership both used and new. Out of all the vehicles I have purchased from them, I had an issue with one and it was immediately taken care of. Prices of vehicles are pretty decent...being civil and friendly without demanding a lower price can go a long way. I've never had a problem negotiating prices with them.
I drive a 2004 Chevrolet Venture which was purchased at John R. Young Chevrolet. I was visiting my grandkids in Metairie last December when the engine overheated and the engine had over 191,000 miles on it. I brought it to a large mechanic shop recommended by Triple AAA. They recommended a new or rebuilt engine which would cost more than the van was worth. I contacted John R. Young's service department and they sent their wrecker the next morning all the way to Metairie to bring my van to their shop. It turns out the damage was limited to the head gasket which needed replacing. I am still driving the Venture and have put an additional 15,000 miles including a trip to Denver recently. No Dout About It - I will continue to do business with John R. Young Chevrolet and you should too!
I have repeatedly been a customer at John R Young over the past 20 years with no regrets. I have dealt with the sales staff, service department and body shop over the years. I have always received excellent customer service and superb vehicle maintenance and repair. Most recently my vehicle was hit from behind. They made the whole ordeal stress free as they perfectly repaired the damage including the paint job and dealt directly with the insurance company for me. In addition, my car was ready in less than 2 days. This dealership will always get my business.
Well Jane if you aren't satisfied. I call sour grapes! Great dealership. No pressure ever, Service department always fixes ONLY what you want fixed. Why drive out of town to get a Chevy or GMC? I live in town. I keep all my business local. Support your own. Anybody can type words on a web site. Those people are honest, friendly, and I'll never buy or deal with anybody else.
I recommend this car dealership. We had a pleasant experience .Ms. Nicole was helpful and straightforward. She let us look around at our leisure and did not stalk us through the parking lot like most car salespeople you encounter. She answered all our questions. I have yet to encounter a car dealership that I think trustworthy and totally honest but I would go back here again and ask for Nicole!
