Very basic, but extremely dependable

I've driven my 2000 Taurus for almost ten years now, having got it in 2009. It was a junkyard rescue, as it had a blown head gasket and dead transmission. All these components were replaced and I've put almost 130,000 miles on it since then. It's been my daily driver ever since I've had it; from Arkansas, it's taken me to New York once and to Virginia about five times. Also, fuel mileage is very overestimated; on the highway using cruise control, I calculated a minimum of 30 mpg, which is impressive for an old vehicle with a V6 engine. It is extremely well designed and very sturdy. There's a reason these cars were popular with vehicle fleets and still used by some government agencies; you can't kill them with a grenade launcher. They may be very ordinary looking, but if you want a solid, dependable used vehicle at a fair price, look no further. Also, parts are very cheap for repairs.
