We were treated as if we were buying a brand-new Volvo. This time my husband and I worked with a new sales associate, Bea-Alice Sesay. Bea is courteous, personable, and answered all our questions (or checked with other DarCars staff for us). She responded quickly to emails and made our experience pleasant. This is my first all-electric car. Bea and her colleague, Manny, showed me all the car's features and spent time helping me understand the electronics. Great experience at Don Beyer in Dulles. I drove about 4 hours from Roanoke to get the car I was looking for at a reasonable price. I might have bought it sight unseen, but have been burned by less truthful dealers in the past and wasn't willing to take the chance. On arrival I found exactly the car they had advertised in great condition. There weren't any scuffs or scratches that they were trying to obscure and there weren't any smells they were trying to perfume over. Within 30 minutes of getting to the dealership we had a deal. Everyone there was very friendly and professional. All car buying takes longer than I want it to, but they made it as comfortable and efficient as possible and I drove away happy. When the salesman Lonnell Bond found a beat up old coffee mug I'd accidentally left behind in my trade in vehicle, he promptly mailed it back to me! In the future I would buy a car sight unseen from Mr Bond and have him ship it to me. There are very few dealerships I would trust with that.

2024 Volvo S60 review
After needing to replace my Infiniti Q40, I landed on the stylish Volvo S60. Coming from a 350bhp sports sedan, the S60 feels more like a smooth touring sedan rather than a performance machine—it’s a different breed, a more refined one. Comfort & Space At 6'1" and 240lbs, head clearance and shoulder width are non-negotiable for me when choosing a car. Many options, like the BMW 3 Series (which made me hit my head on entry/exit) and the Toyota Camry (too narrow in the shoulders), didn’t make the cut. The S60, however, offers ample leg and shoulder room, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. Performance The S60 is quick and smooth. My Infiniti was undeniably fast, and while the Volvo doesn’t compare in raw power, I never feel underwhelmed. It’s got enough pep to confidently pass traffic, and—based on experience—it’ll leave an X3 or X5 behind at the merge lane. 😄 Interior & Features The cabin design is sleek, luxurious, and built with high-quality materials. Everything feels solid, and the cupholders fit two large Owala or Yeti containers—something my Infiniti couldn’t manage. However, storage space is lacking; there’s no dedicated sunglass holder, and finding good spots for keys and wallets isn't ideal. Fuel Efficiency Fuel economy is impressive. Even with a heavy foot, I easily get 25mpg mixed, thanks to the mild hybrid setup. The power assist eliminates turbo lag, making acceleration smooth and responsive—while you won’t rival a true sports sedan, you won’t feel sluggish either. Driving Experience & Safety Highway cruising is effortless, and overtaking slow drivers is no problem. The self-driving functionality is excellent—on par with Subaru's Eyesight system, which outperforms Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Toyota, and GM in my experience. Tech & Infotainment The Android Auto Operating System is sleek, and voice commands with "Hey Google" respond quickly. Google Maps, climate controls, and music apps like XM and Spotify work seamlessly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t cooperate with Waze or some other apps, which is disappointing. Apple CarPlay is available, but oddly, Android Auto isn't—a baffling omission. Supposedly, an update is already available, but my car won't update ITA so it requires a service center visit, so I’ll find out in about 9,000 miles when I take it in. A few frustrations: - No split-screen on the entertainment console—you must choose between the map or the radio, not both. - The gorgeous dash display will either show Google Maps with navigation or… nothing. Seems like a missed opportunity. - Heated seats aren’t standard, even in the Plus model. This car comes with a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and air purification, yet somehow, no heated seats? - The phone app for remote start is quick and easy, but you can’t adjust climate settings, which is frustrating. Final thoughts: Overall, I really like this car—it’s smooth, comfortable, stylish, and incredibly safe. The price is competitive, making it more affordable than some standard sedans. Sadly, 2025 will be its last production year in the U.S., but since the engine and drivetrain match the V60 and XC60—and the model remains available overseas—parts availability shouldn’t be a concern.
