You can see the shear number of people below that were involved happily. I was never told the line "we just need you to come in..." once. I initially walked in late in the evening with no appointment with my 88 y/o Mom who I wanted to make sure she could get in and out of the MDX I had my eye on. Liz was kind enough to bring the MDX next to our car to see if Mom could get in and out with her walker. Liz was patient and friendly with my Mom and knew it was important to me to have her comfortable and safe. I made an appointment for the next day to properly test-drive various MDXs. Liz listened to my preferences and concerns then remembered a specific MDX they had on the lot, so she brought it over for me to see. She warned me as she wasn't sure if I'd like the interior color...I took one look and said “I love it” - Red Italian leather! The 3rd MDX we test drove was the charm! Next, I talked to the finance manager, Mandy Matanga. Mandy was friendly and fantastic to work with as she gave me the best deal to fit my budget. First time I went in, was just looking to see what was on the lot and was greeted, and after that, not another contact with anyone. When I came back to test drive a few vehicles, got a great sales guy. Overall selection of vehicles is quite nice, and most of the vehicles are almost new to very good condition. Though Carmax likes to display the image they sell cars that have or haven't had any issues, you'll find you'll need to look closer. Most are bought at auction after coming off lease or from being a fleet vehicle. Which is a good thing, as you the regular maintenance was done on them and often the vehicles have original warranties still in effect depending on what vehicle you are looking for and what year. The sales guy was low pressure, and when I came in the next day to buy, I was given another one since he was completing a sale on another customer. Wasn't an issue, as he or the guy that took over were truly "car" guys. The liked cars, had sales experience, but weren't "car" guys. The experience was good overall, but the highlight was completing the deal. Paperwork was done quickly (I had preapproval from my credit union with EFT) and finished the paperwork in about twenty minutes. Amazing, got the vehicle at just an average price, but go the mileage I wanted, with original warranty and extended warranty at the price I was willing to pay. SO overall, win for me, and though I was never a Carmax fan (still rubs me the wrong way their colors are almost best buy colors when their parent company was circuit city....). But I will say my mind was changed.
