2009 Subaru Outback review
We drove the car for 11 years & the only thing we did was change the oil/filter & replaced the tires. I believe there were three recalls. Two of which were air bags on the passenger side. Great vehicle with excellent mpg. One of the best cars that we've ever owned. We didn't purchase another one due to the tow capacity limit.

2014 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen review
This car is amazing. I bought it at the end of Feb 2021 for $11,000. That was about 4-6 weeks before the price of used cars skyrocketed. The first time i took it to a mechanic for some scheduled maintenance i found out that i have a “Unicorn.” It is quick and handles like a dream. I love that i don’t have to fuel it up as much as the gasoline version. The six speed manual transmission is amazing. A fun fact about this car is that it isn’t actually a Jetta. It’s a Golf. My manual 6 speeed TDI sportwagen is the most fun car i have ever owned.

I had very limited time to pick out a car. I was looking for something reliable with low mileage that would last me awhile. With gas prices being super high, a car that was good on gas would be an added bonus for my wallet. After doing some research on Kelley Blue Book, Clinton Motor Cars showed up with a 2010 Toyota Corolla that had 68k miles in an elegant gray color. I reached out to Ryan and was able to go take the car for a test drive on the next day. We drove an hour and a half from Cape Cod to their shop because their prices were unmatched in our area for what we wanted. My partner was hesitant to go through a dealership because of their reputation, but the guys at Clinton Motor Cars changed his perspective. Ryan and Tony were able to answer all of our questions and make the car buying experience better then we ever could have imagined. They found us a payment plan that worked for us even when it seemed impossible. They made us feel welcome, taken care of and they even hooked us up with their insurance guy who gave me a quote almost 2k less a year then the competitors. Its been one week since that test drive. My car is sitting in my driveway. It was registered, insured, and inspected all before leaving the lot! I will definitely be referring all family and friends in search of a car to Clinton Motor Cars. Only complaint about Carmax is that I feel the cars are a bit overpriced, but it's worth it in the end for there customer service!

2017 Subaru Outback review
I went from owning a 2003 Monte Carlo SS to a 2017 Subaru Outback. It was worth every penny. My Subaru is not only reliable, functional, and cute; it also saved me from being injured in a bad crash. This past fall a six point buck hit my car head on and I never saw it coming. It was a fatal crash for the deer, but not for me. As heartbroken as I was to see my car crumpled on the front, I was so glad it wasn't me. It was a repairable fix and made me really appreciate my car.

2018 Subaru Outback review
I have the 2018 Outback 3.6R Limited, at 110,000 miles I replaced all struts and wheel bearing, the ride still isn’t the best but air pressure in tires kept at 39 psi has improved the ride significantly. I had a 2021 with the 4 cylinder engine and the reason I got rid of it was the cvt is fragile and doesn’t handle much weight or towing plus the screen and push buttons for everything, very distracting when driving and looking for the right soft touch function. I have had much better results going backwards to the 2018 6 cylinder engine and heavy duty cvt. It uses a 5W30 engine oil which is a million times better than 0W20 which honestly is really thin and breaks down quickly.

I had a wonderful experience with carmax in Westborough. Very friendly staff, very clean. They don't harass you. Upon entering the building, I was greeted and directed to the vehicles I was interested. I ventured the lot on my own and able to check out the vehicle. All the details were located on the window or they have touch screens with the info of the cars on the lots. Chris C was my sales person, he was very quick to respond to questions I had after I left the lot and also gave me detailed information about the cars I was interested in purchasing without haggling me to buy the more expensive car. When I had a question for him he would always answer it and send the brochure or the car detail info so I had it. The day I made my decision I was driving off the lot in a preowned vehicke within a few hours. I was extremely happy with my experience and would recommend Carmax in Westborough for anyone searching for a preowned vehicle. And i had been to other dealerships for test rides.
2017 Kia Soul review
I have owned a Kia Soul Brownstone Edition for 6 years now. It hasn't given us any issues aside from a brake ABS failure in warranty. However, since Kia skimped out on immobilizers, I wouldn't get one without push button start, which is most of them, unfortunately. While they extended the warranty on the engine, they have plenty of fundamental issues with it, and also, my Kia after 4 years, has noises in front and back suspension sway bars, and the strut tower bearings make noise. While these don't need to be fixed, they make the car sound like crap. I just drove a 2019 Kona with the same amount of miles, and the suspension on that was just fine. Might be due to the larger wheels and smaller profile tires, I don't know. If Kia ever sells the EV soul in the US, I'd get that. So far, they've been good.

2017 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen review
Purchased used S 5-speed manual with 33,000 miles on it about four years back. Just passed 100,000 miles last month. Only one problem so far, with the passenger door latch assembly. We get about 37 MPG mixed city and highway, and 45-50 MPG in interstate highway driving. FWD and snow tires work fine here in Wisconsin. The turbo motor and 5-speed provide all of the acceleration one will *actually* need, and also provide those great economy numbers. As part of the Golf platform, it's a solid car and the handling is good. The ride comfort is also good, maybe enhanced by the taller 16" tires on the S version. Simple controls, without an overly complicated radio / info system. Manual ventilation controls (knobs) are a huge plus. With the rear seats down, it has about the same cargo space as our 2009 Subaru Outback: little narrower but also a little longer. Good outward visibility. Driver seat can get a little tiring after a long drive (4 hours or more) but it's comparable with other highway vehicles we've owned. Reasonably quiet inside considering it's essentially an economy vehicle. A very nice economy vehicle, though. We like it enough that we're considering getting another one before there are no more good wagons in the market.
