  • I have purchased several cars in my lifetime. My experience with BMW of Salem was fantastic. I was initially contacted via email by Ryan when I inquired about a used vehicle for sale. The follow up was appreciated and setting an appointment to test drive the vehicle. When we arrived to the dealership the car was parked out front and ready for us....no usual waiting for this or that. Ames took us out on the first test drive and was very pleasant. I worked with Ryan, Ames, TJ and Keith and they were exceptionally great communicators, kind, and professional. Which we appreciate. After our initial test drive with Ames we made a verbal offer then wanted to take a 2nd test drive. They made sure we had everything we needed to make our purchasing decision. They walked us through everything and even checked on us several times as we waited for Keith to free up to complete our purchase paperwork. Keith went above and beyond agreeing to go on the 2nd test drive with us since he was the most familiar with our used car Ford F150 purchase. After our purchase was completed Keith helped us pair our phones and went over the features of the truck we purchased even though this was not within the scope of his job description. He truly went above and beyond for us. TJ made sure our numbers were correct, explaining the difficulties and limitations of our purchase since we were WA residents and they could not register the car for us. Ryan made sure we were gassed up, cleaned up, keys ready as soon as our paperwork was completed. Their pricing was fair and they worked within our budget and constraints being from Washington. They set the bar for dealership etiquette, customer service and great overall service. Keep up the good work fellas!
  • Our car went in for a service issue that was supposedly fixed before we bought from Tigard. Not trusting Tigard we went to Salem. The service department, our service rep was Aaron, very helpful, honest and loyal to BMW. The only options was to ask for help due to the never ending safety issues with the car we needed to get out of it. James, Brian and Craig were the best to work with. With James being the sales manager and finance manager, while the fiance manger involved in an accident. After the horrible experience with working with buying from Tigard BMW, James stepped up to remedy the car that Tigard should not have sold as road safe. We bought a new X5. They understood what we had been through with dealing with Mr. Higgins at Tigard and how he had tarnished the reputation of BMW. Salem did not have to help us out but they believe in the company they represent and work for. Thank you Salem from the bottom of our heart.

  • Purchased a 2022 Jeep GC 4xe and regret it.

Purchased a 2022 Jeep GC 4xe and regret it. I have have nothing but problems with the vehicle requiring repeated visits to the dealership. I have always wanted a Jeep GC and now I cant wait to go back to a Toyota 4runner. I like the style and size of this vehicle and the concept of choosing electric, gas, or hybrid is amazing IF it worked. The money saved on gas, sometimes, does not amount to the time wasted going back and forth to the dealership and the frustration that they cant seem to fix the issues. The check engine light repeatedly coming on has been the most consistent issue followed by the vehicle not charging and constantly saying to service the system. Then there was heat and air conditioning units not working and now I'm dealing with the transmission "overheating" when the vehicle is driven for more than 45 minutes to an hour. The dealerships keep the vehicle for days just to tell you there is no fix OR that they need to order a part that may take 2-4 months. But "it's safe" to keep driving it in the meantime. It's absolutely ridiculous! Jeep could and SHOULD do better. Will never buy another Jeep again.

  • I recently sold my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe after

I recently sold my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe after owning it for just over three years. While there were things I genuinely liked about the vehicle, ongoing issues and overall frustration ultimately led me to move on. The SUV looks great—there’s no denying that. The exterior design is sharp and modern, and the ride quality was one of its strongest points. It was smooth and comfortable, especially on longer drives. Inside, the cabin gave an upscale impression at first glance, with a clean layout and solid tech features. But over time, that impression wore off. There was extensive use of hard plastics on the center console and doors, which didn’t match the vehicle’s price tag. Unfortunately, the problems outweighed the positives. The hybrid system was the biggest headache. I dealt with a string of recalls, requiring multiple dealership visits. In one case, a recall was completed and still didn’t resolve the issue. Acceleration was inconsistent and choppy, especially during the switch between electric and gas power—something you’d expect to be seamless in a plug-in hybrid. The infotainment system added to the frustration. It frequently shut off and rebooted itself while driving, which was not only annoying but distracting—especially when using navigation. There were also noticeable build quality issues. The trunk area constantly rattled due to loose interior panels and headliners. Despite several complaints, Jeep made no effort to address or fix it. It was an ongoing source of noise in what should have been a quiet cabin. To top it off, I had to replace both the tires and shocks after just 45,000 miles of regular driving—far sooner than I would expect for a vehicle of this class. In the end, while the 4xe had strong curb appeal and a comfortable ride, the constant issues, lack of refinement, and unreliable hybrid system made ownership more stressful than enjoyable. I was excited when I bought it, but selling it felt like a relief

  • I’m writing this as a warning to anyone considering the

I’m writing this as a warning to anyone considering the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. While marketed as a premium plug-in hybrid SUV with off-road capability, my experience has been one of repeated mechanical failures, a critical safety defect, and a complete lack of accountability from Jeep and Stellantis. I leased the vehicle in July 2023. Within days, the car began showing warnings related to the hybrid system. It wouldn’t shift out of park, and over the next several months, it repeatedly failed to start. The vehicle was in and out of service for nearly three months total across multiple dealerships for issues including battery failure, wiring harness replacement, software updates, and a faulty auxiliary pump. Jeep eventually offered a goodwill settlement, which I accepted in August 2024, hoping that would mark the end of the problems. It wasn’t. In May 2025, while driving 20 mph on a paved suburban road, the driver-side rear lower control arm fractured without warning. The rear wheel shifted and I was barely able to stop the vehicle. Had this occurred at freeway speed, the outcome could have been deadly. This is a catastrophic suspension failure on a car with fewer than 29,000 miles and no accident history. The vehicle had been serviced just five months prior with no mention of any suspension issue. Despite the severity of this failure, Jeep denied warranty coverage. The dealership cited small surface “witness marks” on the control arm—minor nicks that supposedly proved an impact caused the failure. The damage they pointed to could easily result from regular road use, and in fact, the more visible damage on the failed part occurred after it was dragged on the pavement after the failure. Jeep ignored all other facts: no collision, paved-road use only, and the vehicle being marketed as a trail-rated, off-road SUV. If a part this critical can fail under normal driving conditions, the vehicle has no business being on the road—let alone advertised for rugged terrain. I filed a formal complaint with NHTSA due to the clear safety implications, and a case with the National Center for Dispute Settlement. NCDS ultimately closed the case, stating it did not qualify because Jeep denied it was a warranty issue. Jeep’s national customer service has now closed my case without resolution, and my outreach to their senior leadership, including the CEO of Jeep and SVP of Customer Experience, has gone unanswered. I’ve paid out of pocket for repairs and now face a $5,600 lease termination fee to escape this dangerous vehicle. Jeep refuses to take any responsibility or offer reasonable support. If you’re thinking of buying or leasing a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe—or trusting Jeep to stand behind their vehicles—think again. I’ve never felt more let down by a manufacturer. The brand has shown a complete disregard for safety, quality, and customer care.

The vehicle broke down after 950 miles of use. There was a broken connector from the main wiring harness to the electronic power steering. Eventually this turned into a lemon law and the car was repurchased.

  • In November 2022, I started leasing the 2022 Jeep GC 4xe

In November 2022, I started leasing the 2022 Jeep GC 4xe Overland, only to end up stuck with a problematic vehicle for 39 months. Over the past year only, I brought the car to the dealership more than ten times for various issues. In some cases, I was informed that the problems were acknowledged but that I would simply just have to live with them. On top of that, the vehicle has had numerous recalls. One of the most frustrating experiences was spending nearly three months—half of November, all of December, and half of January—without heat in my car during Chicago’s harsh winter. During this time, I was also unable to use the vehicle’s electrical features and had to solely use gas, which defeats the whole purpose of the "4xe." After having the car at the dealer for 22 days, I arrived to pick it up only to find that the heating issue was still unresolved. I even attempted to return the vehicle for free and end the lease in October 2024, but was told I still owed "too much" on it. This entire experience has been beyond frustrating, and I can confidently say that Jeep offers the worst product quality and customer service I’ve ever encountered. I will never consider purchasing or leasing a Jeep—or any of its sister brands—again, and I will be sure to share my experience with others to warn them against making the same mistake. If you're interested in knowing what dealer that was, it's Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Schaumburg, IL 60195.

  • 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid model may sound fancy

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe hybrid model may sound fancy with all the bells and whistles that are included on this model. but the reality is another when it comes to the power train and performance. I tested this jeep for over 3 weeks and sadly to say it's a total disappointing SUV. Yes,it's very elegant, yes it's big and roomy, yes it has a button and feature you can ever dream of...But the main thing is the cheesy and half baked concept for hybrid! Let's start with the charging of the battery at home with a 120v outlet and the included power charger....This SUV took 12 hrs to charge and who knows how much electricity it cost me to charge it for that many hours. So,after leaving the SUV to charge all those hours,I checked the display on the panel of the dashboard and it reported the following. **408 miles on gas before empty **24 miles on electric before empty Yes u read that right 😔 Just imagine my disappointment to see the cheesy battery 🔋 only able to drive 24miles and the after it was empty this vehicle never moved more than 1% to 2% max with the so called wanna be Prius system 😂 Then to top it all off ,let's talk about the lawnmower sound of the 2.0l turbo engine.. yes,it sounds exactly as a lawnmower!!!!! It's totally annoying and my honda lawnmower is actually quieter!!! The so called power rebel generator while braking or driving on hwy...it's a total joke 🤣 ....if you are willing to keep hearing the switches between the 1% batt and the cheesy 2.0 lawnmower, then go for it and don't come back and complain about it!! 🤣 Over all...$67k for a crappy engineering is a lot of money which might as well get something made by Toyota who knows what hybrid is all about, since they were the pioneers of the technology!

  • A legitimately high-end vehicle supported low-end

I have had several hybrid SUVs, Lexus and Mercedes, and this is at the top of the list for me. The hybrid drive is seamless, smooth, and responsive at all speeds. This is the largest hybrid SUV I have owned and yet, it is the most fuel efficient. Amazing mileage around town (50+ mpg) and highway cruising with the little 4-cylinder is very efficient. At highway speeds the transmission keeps the small internal combustion engine from working too hard but when power is needed for passing the combination of torque from the electric power plant along with the turbocharger provides instant responsiveness. Inside, the SUV is roomy and luxurious. The finishes benefit from the Italian roots of the owners to provide a beautiful harmony of design with soft supple leather and rich hardwood trim. The electronics work extremely well from the MacIntosh sound system to the driver assist and lane-keeping features that virtually drive the vehicle for you. The seat air conditioning and built-in massagers make even long driving trips relaxing. Yes, there have been some recalls, expected in an early edition of a new model. The only negative has been in servicing the recalls. Jeep dealers are still basically just old Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge operations that are not prepared to handle high-end vehicles and the customers they attract. Too few technicians, and poor scheduling between the service writers and the shop. The service waiting areas are designed for truck drivers not owners of luxury automobiles. Stellantis may have upgraded the vehicles to a much higher level but their achilles heel is the dealer service network.

  • Beautiful and comfortable

I'm a low mileage driver. This is the most comfortable vehicle I've ever owned. More features than I need but love the comfort. The air cooled and heated seats are amazing. The seat massage is great. Sound system is amazing. Everything about this vehicle is amazing. Had it nearly a year and only put gas in it four times. Most of my driving is local so I use the electric mode a lot.

  • Summit 4xe trash

Ok I have had this SUV for almost 7 months. I glad I leased it so I can give it back as soon as possible. In almost 7 months. The steering wheel was replaced because the so called leather was coming apart and then I to get 4 recalls done and now my leather on the driver seat is coming off. The suspension sounds like it's loose. I'm not happy at all with this cheap built SUV for the money they are asking for a Summit Reserve 4xe. This not worth the money. I'm glad I don't buy it. On the sticker it says NAPPA LEATHER SEATS. THAT has to be a lie with the way my seats look in under 6 months that when it started peeling. I will never buy an American car or truck again. So far this truck is trash 🗑. Japanese or a German car or Suv for me after this junk.

  • Not ready for production

These vehicles were clearly not ready for production. Tons of recalls and they still can't fix them properly. Market value is plummeting because of it. Beyond that the hybrid system in general is garbage and extremely inefficient. Ford made a better system 10 years ago when the technology was new. Stellantis needs to buy these back.. unacceptable.

  • Great Vehicle but electric savings not justifiable

The new 4xe is very well designed. Performance is great. Can’t believe the acceleration in electric mode. Interior is very comfortable and functions well except for not being able to use Car Play on the the in-car hotspot. Kind of defeats the main reason for having an in-car hot spot! Our disappointment however is in charging. It is difficult to find public chargers at convenient locations where we are traveling and also very slow. (Over 2 hours to get 25-30 miles of driving.). Also cost of charging is not really as economical as originally thought. Few free chargers available. Our in home charging cost is around $2.85 and public charging is about the same on average. This compares to our current cost of $3.50 a gallon in Florida. The savings is just not worth the long wait to charge on a long trip. However the savings on short trips using in home electricity is good, but just not a huge monthly savings. If Jeep can improve charging capabilities in future years it could be an excellent vehicle.

This plug in hybrid has a number of serious electrical problems that are catastrophic causing the vehicle to shut down completely in traffic, so you have no lights, no heat, in some cases no safety flashers, and it is immovable as the transmission locks up in drive where you cannot even push or pull it off the roadway exposing the driver and any passengers to a high risk of getting hit in or even worse outside the vehicle by trying to move it when other cars that cannot see or anticipate a stalled auto on the roadway
