Honda’s first in-house electric-vehicle effort, the 0 Series, is still about a year away from production, but the company is already fiddling with its Prologue, an electric SUV based on the Chevrolet Blazer EV. Introduced for the 2024 model year, the Prologue gets a new electric motor for 2025, increasing both its power and range.

How Much Is the 2025 Prologue?

The 2025 Prologue will go on sale later this year, and its starting price is unchanged from the 2024 model’s. Built in the U.S., the Prologue qualifies for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Pricing for the full lineup (excluding the credit but including the $1,450 destination charge) is as follows:

  • EX: $48,850
  • Touring: $53,150
  • Elite: $59,350

Honda includes the buyer’s choice of three charging packages with every Prologue: a Level 2 home charger, a $500 credit toward its installation and $100 in EVgo charging credits; a portable Level 1 and Level 2 charging kit, plus $250 toward the installation of a home charger and $300 in EVgo credits; or just $750 in EVgo credits. All three options also include 60 free kilowatt-hours at Electrify America charging stations.

What Are the 2025 Prologue’s Powertrain Specs and Range?

The Prologue is available in front- or all-wheel drive, the former with a single electric motor and the latter with two motors, one powering each axle. Only the front motor is updated on the 2025 model; the same unit carries over at the rear. Generating 220 horsepower and 243 pounds-feet of torque, the new motor betters the 2024 model’s by 8 hp and 7 pounds-feet. Those are minimal gains, but Honda says they’re accompanied by an additional 12 miles of range, boosting the Prologue to a best of 308 miles (official EPA ratings are not yet available for the 2025 model).

AWD is available for $3,000 on the base Prologue EX and mid-level Touring trim; it’s standard on the range-topping Elite. For 2025, AWD Prologues now enjoy a total of 300 hp and 355 pounds-feet of torque, gains of 12 and 22, respectively. Riding on 19-inch wheels, Honda says the EX and Touring can now go another 13 miles, for a total of 294, while the Elite’s heavier 21-inch wheels limit it to 283 miles (still an increase of 10).

Safety Features and Trim Levels

The Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety tech is standard on the Prologue. It includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, blind spot monitors with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, rear parking sensors and road-sign recognition.

Even the entry-level Prologue EX is generously equipped, featuring LED exterior lighting, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, keyless start and remote start. Heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver’s seat are standard, as are dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless device charging, six speakers, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Stepping up to the Touring adds front parking sensors, a panoramic moonroof, a hands-free power liftgate, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. In addition to AWD, the Elite includes a 360-degree parking camera, head-up display, ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
