Expert 2026 Honda Prologue review

Our expert's take

Full article
honda prologue elite 2025 eterior front angle oem scaled jpg

Key Points

  • The 2026 Honda Prologue starts at $48,895 (all prices include $1,495 destination charge).
  • No changes for the 2026 model year
  • Up to 308 miles of range

Honda and its luxury brand, Acura, took a cautious step into the electric-vehicle market with the Prologue and ZDX, a pair of SUVs. The Prologue is based heavily on the Chevrolet Blazer EV, the ZDX on the Blazer EV and Cadillac Lyriq. While Acura is discontinuing the ZDX for 2026 after just one model year on the market, the Prologue is sticking around, holding down the fort until the automaker’s all-new EV, the 0 Series, goes into production. But with that big project on the horizon, Honda is leaving the Prologue unchanged for 2026.

Pricing and Release Date

The 2026 Honda Prologue is on sale now. Pricing is below; note that all-wheel drive is $3,000 extra on the EX and Touring and standard on the Elite.

  • EX: $48,895
  • Touring: $53,195
  • Elite: $59,395

Trim Levels and Safety Features

The most expensive vehicle in Honda’s lineup that’s available in all 50 states, the Prologue comes well equipped from the start. The entry-level EX trim rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and features keyless entry and start, remote start, LED exterior lighting, heated mirrors and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Inside are a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, six speakers, an 11-inch digital instrument panel, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-In and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Honda Sensing suite of driver-assist systems is standard on every 2026 Prologue and includes forward collision alert with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering, blind spot intervention, rear parking sensors with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, road-sign recognition and automatic high beams.

To all of that, the Touring adds front parking sensors, a panoramic moonroof, a hands-free power liftgate, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. In addition to its standard AWD, the Prologue Elite includes 21-inch wheels, windshield-wiper de-icers, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, 360-degree camera system and head-up display.

Powertrain Specs and Range

Front-drive Prologues have a single electric motor generating 220 horsepower and 243 pounds-feet of torque. With AWD, the SUV adds a second electric motor that increases total output to 300 hp and 355 pounds-feet.

All 2026 Honda Prologues have an 85-kilowatt-hour battery pack. Honda says the 2026 EX and Touring have the same estimated range of 308 miles with FWD and 294 miles with AWD as the 2025 model; with its larger wheels, the Elite can travel up to 283 miles on a charge (official EPA estimates are not yet available for 2026). On a DC fast charger, the Prologue can juice up from a 20% charge to 80% in as little as 35 minutes. Towing capacity maxes out at just 1,500 pounds for all trim levels.
