I have a 2021 Jeep renegade that I bought in November

I have a 2021 Jeep renegade that I bought in November 2023 for $24,000 and change. It had 4400 miles on it. Of course, at first, I loved it. The auto four-wheel-drive, the big screen navigation /stereo system. the fact that the back seats lay down. If you take the headrests off, they lay flat. Then I drove it for awhile and here is the lists of ‘add ons’ it should have. 1)The door pockets up front are just to small. 2) The center arm rest console could be bigger. 3) The dash is too deep. Jeeps dash should be shorter, like a truck. 4) The seats should have seat warmers (even my old Nissan Juke had seat warmers) 5) The hatchback has no interior light so in the dark, you need a flashlight to look for things, remove groceries etc. 6) There is space for a spare tire but since this edition came with ‘flat free’ tires (idk the actual name for them) that space could have been made larger for storage. 7) When the back seats are up, the storage behind them is very small and limited. I realize this is a smaller SUV but I expected a larger space back there. 8) I have almost 14,000 Miles on it now as of 7/27/2024. I do feel the transmission either slip or shift sometimes. 9) It took me over a month to learn that if the car is cold, it will not start unless your seat belt is buckled. That’s a fact. 10) It handled the very very well in the devastating ice storm that payed a 1/2 inch layer all over the Pacific Northwest last winter. That auto 4 wheel drive truly works! 11) I had to buy seat belt extensions for the back seats as It was difficult to engage the seat belts into the locking belt.. It sits deep into the seat and I have grandchildren who like to lock thier own belts in. They can be found for sale at most Auto Stores for around $20 each. I recommend you get them. That’s about it. Overall, I love my Jeep Renegade. I think the price is very high considering the items missing but overall, I am going this will last me a good 10-20 yrs…

The three years I had this car, I didn’t run into any major issues. The Uconnect radio that Chrysler uses could be better but other than that it was a C great suv to me!

2021 Jeep Renegade review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2021 Jeep Renegade?

The Jeep Renegade is a subcompact SUV with seating for five people. It comes standard with a 180-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. A 177-hp, turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder is also available. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are offered, and competitors include the Chevrolet Trax, Honda HR-V and Hyundai Kona.

What’s New on the 2021 Jeep Renegade?

New standard active safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking (Trailhawk excluded), lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist and blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. A 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system with satellite radio and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity is also standard. New 80th Anniversary, Jeepster and Islander editions add features and unique trim.

What Features in the 2021 Jeep Renegade Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Cruise control
  • Heated side mirrors
  • Dual-zone automatic air conditioning
  • Push-button start

Available features include:

  • Panoramic moonroof
  • Leather-trimmed seats
  • Heated front seats
  • 8.4-inch touchscreen multimedia system with navigation
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Adaptive cruise control

Should I Buy the 2021 Jeep Renegade?

The Renegade drives well and has a quiet cabin filled with clever design details. For anyone who’s serious about off-roading, the Trailhawk model is one of the most capable subcompact SUVs you can buy. We’ve found the nine-speed automatic transmission to be balky at times, so a test drive consisting of city, suburban and highway driving is recommended before purchasing.
