What it is: This aggressively styled four-seat coupe comes with a choice of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive or a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with either rear- or all-wheel drive. It’s another step in Lexus' ongoing effort to attract younger buyers, and it also comes in performance-oriented F Sport form. The various versions of the RC compete with the Audi A5, BMW 4 Series and Cadillac ATS. The high-performance V-8-powered RC F is covered separately in the Cars.com Research section.
Forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane departure warning with steering assist, and adaptive cruise control are standard. Last year’s RC 200t is now called the RC 300 and retains a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive. V-6 versions gain 5 horsepower; the all-wheel-drive RC 300 is now rated at 260 hp, and the RC 350's V-6 makes 311 hp. The optional navigation screen grows to 10.3 inches. Enform safety and service features are now provided free for 10 years instead of one, and a one-year/4-gigabyte trial of the Enform Wi-Fi hot spot is included.
