What Is the 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport?

The Nissan Rogue Sport is a five-seat subcompact SUV that competes against the Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona and Mazda CX-30. It’s powered by a 141-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are offered.

What’s New on the 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport?

The base S trim level has 17-inch aluminum wheels, and the mid-level SV trim gains heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and remote start.

What Features in the 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • 17-inch aluminum wheels
  • Cloth upholstery
  • Air conditioning
  • 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rear automatic braking

Available features include:

  • 19-inch aluminum wheels
  • Power moonroof
  • Leather-trimmed seats
  • Bose premium stereo
  • 360-degree camera system

Should I Buy the 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport?

The Rogue Sport offers good occupant comfort, is a great size if you live in a city and can have many convenience and advanced safety features. Just be sure to take it on higher-speed roads if you’re considering one; we thought its drivetrain didn’t offer much power under full acceleration. Road noise is also an issue.

Have owned a 2021 Rogue Sport for 6 months. I’ve noticed a lot of people commenting on acceleration issues while merging on HWY. unless mine is in eco mode I have no problem merging at HWY speeds.

  • Great little SUV!

We traded in a Subaru Impreza hatchback on the 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport SL with premium package. The 1st thing we noticed during the test drive, was how much quieter the car was compared to the Subie. It is not a fast car by any means, but it also doesn't deserve some of the review commentary that I've seen. The ivory leather interior make the inside feel so much brighter and airy in nature. Both my wife and I love the exterior styling, as well as the pearlescent white paint job. For a moderately priced vehicle we think the car has a near luxury feel and appearance. Happy with the purchase so far!

  • Nissan Rogue Sport 2021 Review

I have had this car for just one year. The ride is rough. Already, left front daytime running light is on one minute off another. The left front driver door lock sometimes does not open with key fob or inside door button panel. You think you’ve locked your doors when you get out, not knowing the driver door is not locked. This is dangerous. Someone can get in your car. Or, if someone is after you and you need to get in your car quick and lock it, you’re in jeopardy if the door doesn’t unlock. The seats are made with a cheap material that can tear from almost anything. You feel every bump. There are gaps within the area where the body frame near the tires and and mudguard areas. It looks as if it could separate. The CVT transmission creates a very slow stop/start. Getting onto the highway will require flooring the gas pedal, which can damage CVT transmissions. However, once the car get rolling, highway or streets, it’s pretty fast. Beware: This car has had recalls already. I have never used the “sport” feature. This might help with the speed.

  • Love my Rogue Sport

The car drives and rides well. The horizontal adjustment on the driver seat makes me very happy. Back cameras include sides and the warnings when cars/people are near are a blessing.

  • Performed great in the mountains

I was a little worried about the 4 cylinder engine in the mountains on our vacation but was pleasantly surprised with the way it handled the small curvy mountain roads as well as the Interstates while maintaining 30.0 mpg all the way. We love the ride, performance and appearance of this vehicle.

  • My Third Rogue

I have had 2 full size Rogues. The Rogue Sport is a bit smaller but has everything I was looking for, a backup camera, blind spot warning and a warning if the car ahead is too close. As a bonus it also warns if you are crossing the lane line and it has a camera that watches for pedestrians and will put on the brakes. Love the new color, Scarlet Umber
