I have bought and leased cars from Al Smith since 1970; I don't even know how many it has been in that time, but for more than a decade in late 1990s and early 2000s we leased a new car from Smiths every 18 months. I have never had any problems with service, treatment, etc., and cannot recommend the dealership highly enough. In late 1970 I stupidly bought a car from a Chrysler dealer closer to home, and had numerous problems over the first few months; it had to be towed four times. Each time, the dealer was unable to fix the problem; they installed four new carburetors to no avail (seems someone with any knowledge would suspect the problem might be elsewhere). I mentioned it to someone from Al Smith's shop (I still had a car I bought at Smiths) and he put me in touch with a factory official who agreed to meet me at the local dealer from whom I bought the troublesome car. The offending dealer's service manager wanted to install yet a fifth carburetor and was abusive and argumentative with the factory official, until finally the official ORDERED the service manager to replace the onboard computer. I had no trouble with that car after that! I never set foot in the "local" dealer again, and have been with Al Smith since. I regret that I bought that one car elsewhere after already having had good experiences with Al Smith. I know Jim Smith well and knew his late father, Al, also. Both are men of integrity and honesty, and run (and ran) the dealership with those traits.

I purchased a 2009 Lincoln MKX on May 6. We drove from Gray area to Knoxville 2x before we made our puchase. Both times we were able to look inside all vehicles, drive anything we were interested in, no pressure, very relaxing and pleasant experience. I drove my MKX home after a 30 minute process, with a full tank of gas, and lots of friendly smiles. The 30 day warranty applied to the MKX. 2 weeks later, the TPU case leaked terribly. Called and talked to claims, took the car to auto shop, got it repaired, and I myself have NEVER had such a great and easy car buying experience as I have at Doug Justus. A few weeks ago my parents and I were shopping on the internet for a 2nd car for me to goto work. I'm a teacher that takes care of my parents and it was just getting too hard with a combined household and only 1 car. After calling around to numerous dealerships we finally got in touch with Deanna who was the most polite and honest person we've ever talked to! She promised she'd get us with a great salesman and would greet us when we got there. After arriving and being greeted by Deanna (such a sweetheart!), we were introduced to Trevor. He was AMAZING! He never pressured us and he educated us the whole time, explaining everything so we knew what was happening and didn't feel like we were being "sold," but rather "helped," along the way. He explained up front about pricing and how payments work, so were weren't surprised when it came time to sign paperwork and helped us find a car I absolutely LOVE!!! My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said 'yah right, there's gotta be a hitch somewhere'. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again....curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was 'check it out'. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans....I started falling in love with minivans....I started buying minivans....all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up - because at this point, I still felt a little 'leary' about the whole deal'. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it's not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn't have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan....it's so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings....I found the new 'her' a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days...they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top.....they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed...minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire....they kept their promise, three hours later she was back with a brand new tire, not one, but TWO brand new back tires. And they put an extra Carvana cup in the car for me. They swapped the minivans and off the old one went and there I sat with the new one. Smile ear to ear. I worked with Carvana on 6 items that we believed needed repair before committing to keep the vehicle. Carvana went above and beyond. I got an estimate for the repairs at a local shop, Carvana approved it, and within a few weeks, all repairs were completed through Carvana and I have the perfect vehicle, no hassle, no hidden agendas. And every person I dealt with on the phone or in person were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND JUST THE BEST!! My Carvana experience was the absolute best. I will never go back to buying a car the old 'car dealership' way. And ironically, we had bought our other vehicle from a dealership just 3 months before being introduced to Carvana. I will give one warning about buying a vehicle through Carvana this way....it can be addicting..lol :-) Yes, I still shop Carvana cars every now and then....I don't even need a car, I just love seeing what Carvana has because it was sooo simple :-) Thank you Carvana for a trememdously wonderful experience.

My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

It’s great for commuting to work and back but can’t go too far due to the range being limited. The seats are somewhat comfortable, not too bad. There is virtually no leg room in the backseats. It definitely is for small kids only and no adults. Over all it’s great for a one to two person commute around town and work. Nothing more than that.

This is a review of my SELLING experience to Carvana. I listed my car on Craigslist and was approached by an outsider buyer named Jan. She introduced me to Carvana, which I never heard of before, and it's process. She was very helpful and walked me through the process. The first deciding factor for selling to them was that they offered me the best price (vs. CarMax, Auto Nation, Trur Car). Then I realized the process was super streamlined. All I had to do was upload my documents and, after approval, schedule an appointment for the pickup of my car. Carvana sent a truck to COME TO ME to pick up the car. The driver (Lauren?) was very courteous and pleasant to work with, too. The pickup process, which included a one-mile test drive, took no longer than 20-30 minutes. Immediately after loading my car to their truck, I was handed the check, which I immediately deposited without any issues. My selling experience from being contacted by buyer to getting the check took just 10 days! (Would've been even faster if I was more timely with uploading my docs.) I'd highly recommend Carvana for selling your cars!

This is the perfect commuter car. I charge it up at night and drive all day. And if you drive the car in eco mode, the range can be extended as much as 25 miles. Also, it’s way too cute. Look at most electric cars, except for the Tesla, they are butt ugly. The BMW electric falls face first into that aforementioned category. And, no one can say the Nissan Leaf is a good looker. The Fiat 500e is just too cute, pulled straight from the ‘50’s. I can’t say enough about my love of my 500e.

If you want a good used car and outstanding customer service, this is the place to go. They sold me a nice used 2013 RDX and said it was a 4.5 out of 5. It turned out unbeknownst to them there were some issues. One by one they took care of them quickly and eliminated all the known issues. Honestly, the test drive sold me on this car. I looked at cars that were $10k more than this, yet in comparison this car performed just as well or even better. Smooth acceleration, quiet ride, easy maneuvering, and a quality, polished interior. The infotainment system is also easy to use and has the up to date necessities like Bluetooth streaming, voice command, and satellite radio. The only downsides I've experienced is that it's got a small, not-so-versatile interior and the range is on average 100mi, so it's only ideal for short commutes. Overall a great performing car with a lot of personality!

David Farar, my salesman, was friendly and helpful. He answered my questions, and if he was not sure of some detail about the 2018 Equinox, for example, the new color Sandy Ridge Metallic, he found the answer. When I was unsure about the details of the sales/buying process, he explained until I understood. My contacts with the managerial staff (Kyle Kempton, I believe) were also transparent and helpful. The follow-up after the sale has been very good, even to include a bag of cookies and help programming my garage door opener.

Fiat 500e Real World Review

Good and Bad. We just bought a used 2014 500e with 28k miles. Dealers are currently offering nice pricing as many 2014's are coming off-lease and being turned in. We paid $7500 + tax. which seems very cheap for car that cost $30K a few years ago. The limited market and relatively high production volume keep the current resale value low. The car is blast to drive at lower speeds... It's very quick and can zip in and out of traffic lightning fast. It feels light, nimble and could probably beat many expensive sports cars up to about 60mph. If you install a 240v fast-charger in your garage and only commute in the city or shorter distances -- the car is fantastic. BUT If you have to travel over 25 miles on the freeway to work, I'm sorry to say the car is a joke. I simply would not recommend this car for commuting! The problem is that once you exceed 50mph, the battery charge diminishes shockingly fast, to the point where you may be scared you won't make it. It almost seems as though the car needs some kind of overdrive system because it uses tons of energy at 65mph, even with little throttle. In the city, it has regenerative braking to help recharge, but on the highway the motor eats battery power like crazy. The fully-charged "96-mile range" can only last about 40 miles at constant 65mph. If you commute on the freeway, you'd better have a fast-charger at work or you may not make it home.

I live in the hills of Los Angeles. I can only go about 50 Miles to leave and get home. So if you have a daily commute that's short you will love the car. Battery is the problem!

My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Fiat is the cutest car on the road today. You can't help check it out when it passes you on the road. I watch drivers turn their heads when they see a Fiat....especially a red fiat. Love this little car. Would love to dress it up in Disney Mickey Style. I highly recommend this FUN Car.
