2017 Ford Explorer review
I have owned Toyota and Honda vehicles for years. I love the space and comfort of my Ford Explorer. However I'm at 68k miles and just had to have my transmission rebuilt. If I didn't love the comfort and ride of this vehicle so much, I would trade it in tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed and praying this vehicle will hold out to 200k miles.

2017 Ford Explorer review
I have had several Explorers all have been great vehicles. My newest is only a couple years old. I also still have a great running 26 year old with almost 200k miles. Never had a big or expensive problem with either. I can say the same for the BMWs, Mercedes and Infinity’s I have owned…Once these expensive vehicles warranty expired everything but their engine seemed to fall apart. My Fords are reliable and never break down (knock on wood) Not flashy like the imports but solid.

I showed up and was greeted by Robert Jefferson, who was only on his third day at the dealership, but you’d never know it. I asked to see a specific vehicle, and he had it pulled up and ready for me right away. Any information I requested, he found quickly, and he even got the manager’s approval for me to take it for a blast on the freeway. Robert was easy to work with, never pushed any sales tactics, and didn’t try any of the usual “4‑square” nonsense. I came in strictly to negotiate an OTD price (as you all should), and he respected that. We got the numbers almost exactly where I wanted them, and he moved me over to the finance manager to wrap things up without any delays. From the moment I arrived to the moment I drove off in my new vehicle, the whole process took maybe 2 hours. Fast, smooth, and exactly how I like it. Robert is a super cool guy, and if I’m ever in the market for another Ford, Citrus Motors will be my first stop.

2017 Ford Explorer review
Bought this car in 2019 as my daily driver. It has enough space to transport my large and was very reliable until about 160,000 miles. Gasket seal and O2 sensors failed causing me $800 in repairs. Not super expensive, but like the previous review says check to see if there are any open recalls. Currently at 230,000 miles and still driving. If you follow the suggested maintenance schedule you'll be fine. If not, you'll be in for some trouble.

In my review, I shared that I felt pressured when I was informed that a protection package valued at $4,200 had to be included in order to move forward with the deal. Today, March 1, 2026, I received a call from Tustin GMC management apologizing for the miscommunication. They explained that it was not their intent to pressure me, and that the final price presented actually included an extended warranty rather than a mandatory protection package. I appreciate the clarification and the outreach from management. I accept their apology and want to acknowledge their effort to address the situation and make things right. 2017 Ford Explorer. I love my car. It runs great but I have had battery problem and trim has blown off my car on freeway. Have not had a lot of problems with it.
