2012 McLaren MP4-12C review
I own Exotic car dealerships. I personal own a 2021 Ferrari F8, 2024 Lamborghini technical, 2020 McLaren 720 Spider, C8 Z06 and 2012 and 2013 mp4. Honestly the MP4 is just and all around amazing amazing car. I would have to say that this Truly, the best exotic car made for under $350,000. As far as performance on the street the only stock exotic that’s gonna be fast is another McLaren. Being in a business, I don’t keep cars long. I’ve owned my MP4’s over 5yrs. It’s very hard to compare anything to this car unless you’re spending $250 or more. Stop listening to the Internet regarding reliability, there were a few issues that happened in 2012 and 2013 when they first came out and there were absolutely no McLaren dealerships and nobody had the info to work on this car. That’s all changed . As far as I’m concerned, it’s almost maintenance free. A few annoying issues that seem to happen on all McLarens but nothing Major basic xxxxxxxx stuff. Most issues the MP4 had all happened within the first 1500 NO different then other exotics. Keep the oil clean, keep The battery on a tender, let the car worm to normal operating temperature before doing excessive acceleration. If you don’t absolutely abuse the ca you will be very surprised how reliable this car is. take advantage of the prices, at some point people are going to wake up and realize the car is worth double today’s price Compared to the competition.

I was able to contact a salesman after hours by text and arrange for a viewing the next day. When I finally arrived on Saturday evening my selected vehicle was standing by for a viewing and a test drive. Afterwards we did the paperwork and I was helped by the salesman in making a domestic wire transfer through my banking app on my phone. No cash or checks necessary! Once the wire went through the service department changed the oil, detailed the vehicle and set the tire pressures. I was able to make arrangements for a delivery to my home saving me a trip and several days of anxiety. My salesman kept me informed at every step. The vehicle I chose was in great condition inside and out which speaks to the quality of the vehicles on the lot. I feel like I got quality service even though I didn’t purchase the most expensive vehicle on the lot, by a longshot. I also had the opportunity to purchase a great warranty for my vehicle, which I found to be surprising that it was available at all. I look forward to working with Kearns again in the future for my next big purchase.

2014 McLaren MP4-12C review
2013 with 10K miles. Orange with $40K in carbon upgrades, including seats. Dealer maintained. Perfect used condition. Incredible performance. Well balanced at the limits. Excellent driving position except that mirror is too low for taller driver - partical block of forward view and unable to properly adjust. Comfortable (carbon) seats, although less padding and unheated. Controls laid out well. Impressive fuel economy at 65-70 that falls off rapidly with higher speeds or acceleration bursts. Under hood is very hot, even on mild days, radiating heat and off-gassing. Bluetooth interface has to be relaunched with each start and difficult to switch between users. Radar detector is obnoxious - still trying to figure out how to turn off. Highly recommend checking lithium battery condition prior to purchase - replacement is $7K. Moderate road noise with some carbon fiber chassis creaking on rougher roads. Stiffly sprung so poor roads/construction are a bit jolting. Oddly, only one illumination from headlights - can't toggle between low and bright. Have been flashed so they might be on bright all the time. Hate to think of diagnosis/repair cost. Surprisingly inexpensive to insure. Overall, this is an incredible vehicle for the money whose body shape seems timeless.

I had the pleasure of purchasing a pre-owned classic Ferrari from the team at McLaren Boston, working primarily with Jonathan, Bob, and Corbin through the various phases of the deal. They are consummate professionals, and will go to great lengths to make a customer happy, as they did for me. Jonathan's assessment and description of the car over the phone and through email was accurate and honest, and the car presented better than expected upon seeing the car at their facility in person. Speaking with Corbin at length on their shop floor, it is evident that his expertise extends far beyond the realm of late model exotics, and is backed by contacts and experience with some of the finest classic and exotic names in the northeast. Negotiation on price and terms was a breath of fresh air. Very straight forward, and resolved within a matter of minutes without pretense to very fair terms, having been searching in the market for the past year with a more intensive focus the past six months. Jonathan also put forth the extra effort to locate and secure some invaluable original documents and historic records for the car, which was a most welcome surprise on the day that we closed the deal after a successful PPI. Was shopping a new or slightly used 23/24 BMW M8 Completion Convertible. Southeast Auto had two listings. Called and spoke to Rich. What a pleasant client experience. When I’m shopping vehicle in the $150K plus/minus I admit to being apprehensive. Rich, who in fact is the owner, answered all my questions excepting the one he did not know, Rich sent an email that more than satisfied my question i short order. Was the beginning of a trustworthy client/seller relationship. Bar none this was the best automobile acquisitions I’ve experienced with 67 (no exaggeration) vehicle purchases I’ve very made.Very luckily to have the opportunity to meet and work with a seller exudes honesty and integrity in my experience.
