I strolled on into the office, about a half hour before closing on a Thursday, just wanting to take a peek at a ride I saw online. I expected to get the 'We're about to close' treatment, but Isaac did just the opposite; he brought me to the vehicle I asked about, started it up, and we proceeded to chat. Having never- and I mean *never*- financed anything before, Isaac took the time to explain my options, and walked me through the whole process. While we talked turkey, he introduced me to John, the big kahuna, who was also incredibly friendly and helpful. Between the two of them, this former avoider of everything credit (cash only since forever) was able to find fantastic financial terms, and get my wife into a primo 2009 GMC with low miles- awesome all around. I first owned a 2013 impreza. I totaled it at 103,500 miles and bought a 2018 impreza with 7800 miles. You would think after 5 years Subaru would get their bluetooth connectivity issues fixed. But obviously not. I'm playing music in my car get out of my car with it still running, get back in my car put it in reverse and my phone randomly disconnects and will not reconnect until I restart the car. And heaven forbid you take your seat belt off a split second before you put it in park because it will beep like crazy even after it's in park! So stupid! I feel like my 2013 impreza was a little quicker as well. My 2013 had all the recall/lawsuit problems so hopefully the 2018 is better build quality . Other then those small problems it's been a great car and I like it.

Fabulous car, some downsides

To be honest, the car is great. It looks and feels great in and out. The seats are stylish and the dash is sleek and has a large touch screen (mines a Sport model). However, there are downsides. I love how cool the screen is, but not having buttons feels dangerous. I have to look down too much to hit the buttons since I can’t feel then like a regular radio/whatever. Secondly, whoever thought it was a good idea not to make he cup holders round is crazy. Half is curved, but then it’s straightens out to look like a short bullet shape. What this means is that no cup is secure and the drinks bounce around and when you learn about it it’s from spilling coffee all over in your brand new car cuz you went over train tracks. Third, the transmissions jerks sometimes when you let off the accelerator. When it downshifts you can feel the car since back as the transmission starts to stop the car when it should be saving energy by coasting. These I’m told are normal traits in the car. Lastly, the 28mpg city rating is false. I get 20 in the city driving like a grandpa. Apparently these things suck when the engine is could and my 2 miles commute sees the worst efficiency I can imagine for a brand new 4 cylinder with such a good rating. All in all though, I like it and it’s a sexy car.

Well, I had another chance to use this dealership and I must say, Grand Prix's motto "We will satisfy you" definitely applies here. Unfortunately, our new Subaru Legacy, which me and my mom love, was recalled with about 51,000-52,000 2016-2017 Legacy/Outback models due to a possible problem with the steering problem. Unfortunately, this meant that my car would have to go into the dealership for service in order to fix it. Thankfully, I found Subaru of North America very proactive in getting information about the recall out there to the customers and at least I knew that Grand Prix would help me, as I had previous experience there when I shopped for our Legacy 3.6R Limited and found it to be an excellent dealership. Thankfully, this carried over to the service department, where a friendly and helpful representative was able to get me an appointment two days after the recall went out at 7:30AM, get me a loaner car (ended up being a rental from Hertz paid by Subaru, as the dealer ran out of loaners), and also have my car towed to the dealership two days before, as Subaru advised owners not to drive it. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by a gentleman named Kevin, who was helpful and pointed me in the right direction to my Service Advisor, Steve Shoum. I found him to be excellent and better than the Service Advisor who helped us at the luxury car dealership where we serviced our former luxury car, as we found Steve to be very friendly, knowledgeable about cars, and able to speak to the customer without making them feel stupid or being snarky, like at the dealership where we serviced our previous car. While I did have to wait a bit as Hertz in Hicksville did not open until 9:00AM and they needed to pick me up, as Grand Prix ran out of loaners due to the recall, things were still fine, as I found the service center to be very nice, as it looked upscale and delivered on being somewhat upscale, with many plush and comfortable chairs, large screen TVs, nice restrooms, free wifi, plenty of literature, and a very good selection of complimentary food and beverages, like bagels and all of the fixings, coffee, soft drinks, and fresh fruit. Throughout the process, I found all of the employees other than Steve who I have dealt with previously in the sales department, like Vinny Ortolani, the General Sales Manager who came by to say hi to all of the customers and chat, Emily, another Service Advisor, and all of the other employees to be very warm and efficient, which was fantastic! My car was at the service center for a week, as the part for the steering column was on back order and they wanted to inspect the car, but Steve continued to keep me updated throughout, which contrasts to our previous Service Advisor at the luxury car dealership, who left us in the dark and made it hard to call him, as we usually got his voicemail when we called the dealer. Also, he rarely called us with updates. Grand Prix also proved to be very accommodating, as Taylor, the representative in the Sales Department, was very helpful as she had my car wait in front of the Sales Department as I had to pick up my car a little after hours due to work. This was appreciated, as I feel like Grand Prix understands not everyone operates on their schedule. There was one minor hiccup in the experience, as the car was kind of dirty when we got it back, but it was resolved perfectly after we complained, as Dan Ross, the General Manager of the dealership, was understanding and wanted to make sure we we satisfied, as he offered us two vouchers to the Hicksville Car Wash, which was appreciated. Overall, I thought that Grand Prix's Service Department was excellent, as it put where we took our luxury car to shame thanks to their fantastic service and I would definitely recommend Grand Prix when I need to service my Legacy!

I have been very happy with this car over the past year and 10,000 miles. It is surprisingly fun to drive...even more so in the winter with tires one can trust in ice and snow (OEM tires wouldn't stop the car on wintry road and I replaced them). Great city car and good interstate road trip car too, sometimes getting high 30s mpg at 70 mph. Engine always willing. Handling is great. I can load my bike in back without its front wheel, seats down, or a mower with the handle folded down. Infotainment center is bland, but I have a newer Honda where I find the same to be aggravating. The Impreza is quite low to the ground, so I need to consider that around snow berms and rutted roads; the Crosstrek is the answer to that, if you drive in rural and rougher roads. It is always a treat to get in the driver's seat and go for a spin.

First Subaru but not first AWD

I bought this yesterday Feb 1 2019 with 20,700 miles on it from the dealership at Southpointe Hendricks Subaru in Durham, NC. I think the dealership did not give a great deal. charged more than they should have. I got black Premium. The car seems higher than the sport model i tried in a different place which had everything on it. This one doesn't have the blind spot or auto braking before a collision and I think I should have had that. The car drives well but has a lot of body roll and some engine noise. Though outside noise is negligent. Brakes well and corners well as the turning radius is smaller than the legacy. It doesn't feel as planted as my BMW 2011 3 series with X Drive but that is a different category of car altogether. But for all the other cars in it's price range drives very well and looks stylish and classy in black as well as the AWD which even in if you have some snowy days in the winter is useful as well as in the rainy days in all the other seasons. I cannot say much of reliability as i have not owned it but one day. Hope it is. All in all, the affordability and the AWD and the safety that drew me to the first Japanese car I have bought. And no, not a BMW but drives well and I am satisfied.

I honestly hated this car. The only time where I loved it was in the snow...because it just never got stuck. Like I could have snow up to my fenders and still mash the pedal from a dead stop and not slip once. Like it was kind of unbelievable in the winter. But with having standard awd it's kind of expected. But everything else...it's uncomfortable, the electronics tended to just stop working...regularly...like the radio would shut off at random, the back up camera would stop working whenever it felt like...radio presets would reset, the screen would stop working...just a headache sometimes. The check engine light would pop on every once in awhile seemingly for no apparent reason and then go off without warning. It got TERRIBLE GAS MILEAGE...like literally terrible... For a four banger I literally only averaged like 23 mpg....on a good day got 25...never higher than that...and I do ALL highway driving. I bought a f**king Challenger and that thing averages 30 mpg...and has DOUBLE the power. It's insane. And I don't understand it. And the car is ungodly slow and I HATE the CVT trans...it's literally the worst thing ever. I wanted a manual but I settled for the cvt because I didn't want to wait a week when I needed a car at the time. It is what it is. If you don't care about fuel economy, performance, working radios, electronics in general, and just something that you can get from point a to b with little to no issues then get a subie...But if you actually care about all that stuff then I'd stay very far away from this car. Maybe I'm being harsh, but I don't really car. Literally the MOST BORING car I've ever owned...and I used to own a 1998 Ford escort that broke every other week and that thing was still more fun than this... Just happy to be out of it. Someone else's problem now.

The car met all of my travelling needs. It's a great commuter and capable of some adventurous dirt paths. Getting ~30mpg for AWD all the time is great. Subaru's eyesight makes the driving experience assuring and the Apple CarPlay integrated in the head unit makes media consumption super easy.

This newly-opened Subaru dealership is DEFINITELY the one to go to if you are looking to buy a Subaru. The staff has set out to change the paradigm of car buying/selling, and have done away with all of the superfluous nonsense that one normally has to deal with in order to finally come to an agreement on the terms. They bottom line it for you without the back and forth hassle of taking trips to the ???back office??? (that doesn???t exist) to speak with a manager (who actually went home 4 hours ago). They truly have changed the experience for their customers. Fair. Honest. REAL. Three words one NEVER commonly uses to describe a car salesman, or the dealership for which he/she works. But it's true. I leased my new 2019 Legacy from them, and they REALLY took care of me. I don't care where you live - this dealership is worth the trip. And once you experience what it's like to buy/lease a car with this professional, motivated, and innovative young staff, you will not likely want to shop anywhere else. They kept every promise they made, didn't try to sell me something I didn't want (or need), and answered every question I had. A special shout out to Michael Dymnicki for all that he did to help us, and for knowing us BY NAME whenever we stopped in to see if my car was on the lot yet. He was just so, so nice. Thanks, Mike! And another thank you to Nino Tiburzi (sorry if I spelled it wrong) for making the process so much less painful, and for keeping all of your promises to me. Thanks Nino! And finally, thank you Andrew Carlson! You made the final stretch of the process so much easier. I just recently purchased a 2019 Subaru Ascent Touring from Liberty Subaru (my second Subie purchased from them). The service was stellar, as I expected. Dan (Meola) checked up and checked in many times during the pre-order and sales process. My salesperson, Brian Goon was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and helped me configure exactly what *I* wanted in my Ascent (no easy task, since we were trying to assemble a pre-order before the accessories list was even finalized). When the car was finally delivered to Liberty Subaru, even before I signed the paperwork, Brian spent nearly an HOUR explaining EVERY button, knob, switch, setting, dial and readout inside and outside of the car. No, seriously, it was a 100° day, and we started on the outside, where he showed me how to remove and install the hitch cover, how the approach lighting and door lock/unlock sensors worked, where the cameras were, how to fold the 3rd row from the back, where the power was in the back, how the lift gate worked, etc, etc - in the brutal heat. We then moved on to the interior, where he explained everything on the inside from the simple stuff like how to operate the seats to the more complex stuff, like every setting in the Infotainment system, and the readouts on all three LCD displays. He then went through what every manual in the car was and pointed out the ones that were the most important (Eyesight, folks. READ THE EYESIGHT MANUALS), even though he'd already given me a crash course in everything in the manuals. Moving on from there, Tom in Finance finalized my financing - always a pleasure to deal with him!!! I had THREE order changes on my vehicle (I requested all of them) that affected financing, and Tom worked with me through every one of them! He helped me get the best rate and terms and found what *I* wanted for financing to make things work for me! By the time I'd left (after my first "off-road" trip onto their front lawn for a photo), Starlink was set up and done, they'd already cooled the car for me, and I felt comfortable with driving my new purchase!!! I'm tagging Ed Vogel in this as well - he was NOT my salesperson for this sale, but did help with some additional communications during the process and checked in with me to see how everything was going. Ed was my salesperson for my first Subie - a 2010 Subaru Outback. Ed and Brian are night and day in some respects. Ed is more laid back and quiet, while Brian is more enthusiastic and "excited". But, from there, it's all similarities... they both would only sell me exactly what I wanted. Neither of them ever pushed me to anything else or to buy anything I didn't want. Both of them answered every question with a ridiculous level of honesty that's rare to find in many car dealers. They both would answer questions and then wait for me to decide what I wanted. Different approaches, different people, but amazing experiences with both of them. Ed makes you feel comfortable and at ease while Brian feeds your excitement about your purchase - all while both of them provide stellar service in their own unique ways. You can't go wrong either way!!!

So smooth. Went from my 2006 forester knowing I wanted another Subaru. My favorite car I've ever owned. Sporty, stylish, and still with the reliability and superior traction I've come to expect from Subaru.

Original equipment tires wore out at 20,000 miles. Replacement Uniroyal Tiger Paws went 42000 more miles. Was unable to meet factory specs for wheel alignment. Despite that replacement set of tires wore evenly. If you purchase a new Subaru require that dealership align and show you results are at factory specs before taking delivery. The radio controls are difficult to use. touch screen is insensitive in cold weather. Radio knobs taper away from you so are difficult to grasp. Overall electronics are way overly complicated. Handling is very good. I like the CVT trans. It matches the power curve of the engine. Very secure car at highway speeds. Great traction in wet/snow. Zero mechanical problems. Great carrying capacity. I am at 62000 miles and will keep the car for several more years. Remarkable fuel mileage of 34.5 MPG overall.

In 2005 I had an accident which left me permanently disabled. I was in a wheelchair and then a walker for a few years. Last March I treated myself to a Jeep Grand Cherokee for my birthday. Their associate Matt helped me pick it out and despite having som credit issues Roger got me a loan with better than expected terms ! A month ago I was rear ended and my Jeep was a total loss. As soon as my ins. check came I went right back to Matt and put a $2000 deposit on a Volvo. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll be in my new Volvo !

The sound, the handling, and the joy of driving this 2007 base model Impreza sedan is definitely a diamond in the rough for little cost of entry. Although most know and recognized the wrx and sti models for their performance this model still gives you decent power and similar driving feel along with that symphonic experience exhaust note minus the turbo of course.

I drove this Subaru Sport Premium for 6 years. My first AWD car and I loved it! This car blew my Mazda 3 wagon out of the water. There was no comparison for driving in snow, ice and rain in New England. It was the mid model and I was very happy. Cloth seats were fine and comfortable, ample storage. Bluetooth was bad, and generally the cars Tech was sub par. My major complaint was the advertised 26 city / 37 hwy MPG. This estimate IS criminally wrong. Not even close, after 6 years the best combine was 25 MPG and that included round trip drives from Boston to Montreal with NO stop lights for 100s of miles. Also issue with 'wheel bearings' at the tune of $500. According to the mechanic, Subarus are know for this issue and this was only one rear wheel, uugh. But this car did me fine for 6 years and choose to trade up to a new brand and leave the awful MPG and 'wheel bearings' behind. I'll see how the Buick Encore goes for 6 years.
