2023 Toyota GR86 review
This is my 2nd Toyota 86 with my last one being a 2017 GT86. The new and totally improved 23GR86 is far beyond what I thought this car would ever be. This car is amazing for the price and if you truly love the feel of a sports car this is the one to buy! When searching, I knew that the FA motor was a good one but def had it's weaknesses that needed attn asap! I drove my car the way it was supposed to bbe driven and put 130k miles on it before trading it in on the new 2023. I had zero issues but also over service assuring that I ALWAYS had the best fluids in my car. I never even replaced my clutch just tires. The new 2023 GR86 is so much nicer then I expected it to be, it's an enthusiast car and now with the 2.4 mototr it has more then enough power to push you through the tightest of corners. It hadles like a dream and while it has a stiffer suspension then most like, you'll def appreciate when hitting the back roads with twists and turns. I drove the Supra to compare and disliked it in so many ways and all it is is a BMW. I'm 6'0 tall with long legs and have all kinds of room to stretch out. My shoulders are wide and fit perfect, it's not lacking in comfort at all with this year having heated seats in the premium. The headlights are badass and follow you around ever corner. The only thing I'm missing is fog lamps and there is no where to mount them. There is also no kits to install a aftermarket stereo and that really sucks. I have $7k in stereo and need a mount or it won't work. Other then that, if your on the fence, go test ride it! I have the manual 6 speed and it is amazing! The automatic has the paddle shifters and they work well but being such a sports car enthusiast, I only purchase manual cars. They start at under $29k and go up to $25k for a fully loaded automatic. I can promise you that it is worth every penny and the test ride will lock you in. DO NOT PAY OVER MSRP, there is dealers out there that aren't being greedy. Also PPF the whole front of the car or you'll have chips everywhere. It is the best investment and will make your car look amazing if done right.

What a great dealership! After being mislead at another local dealership (drove 2 hours to get to this one, rhymes with tow), I called to see if another vehicle was still available. To my luck, Brandon with Rusty Drewing Toyota answered and was nothing but exceptional during our visit! He quickly got me a response and made sure the vehicle was ready as I was pulling in. We ended up driving this vehicle home that same day because of Brandon and his EXCELLENT customer service and overall great experience at this dealership! Usually you get the overly sales pitched, on top of you, annoying and usually somewhat dishonest sales person at a car dealership, not at Rusty's! You will be treated like family! Offered, drinks, snacks, a play area for kids and down right honest conversations, where you know you get a fair trade, and a quality vehicle at a price you can achieve! Brandon did nothing but process this deal quickly (which I appreciated with two young kids under five and the hubby not with me that day), honestly and openly tell me about pricing and financing options, offered us a great vehicle and made it an easy process! He even has the best marketing, leaving you lots of his fun stickers so you know who to call and who to refer, which I have been doing since buying from Brandon at Rusty's! Our finance associate was also FANTASTIC! He was quick and kind in explaining details and options and made the process easy too! To top it off, during that time, they offered our family a trip to their "candy store and ice cream" at the dealership, helping to keep my kiddos and myself happy during a process that does take a little time. After finishing things up we were gifted a nice wine bottle and some more of Brandon's personal goodies (snow scrapper, car koozies, etc.)! I have never felt more VIP at a dealership! I wish we lived closer so I could service all my vehicles through this dealership. It's really like none other! You'll need to find my guy Brandon because he's the BEST! 2023 Toyota GR86 review
As a bachelor who seldom carries passengers or cargo, I found myself increasingly interested in a sort of "lifestyle" car that would make my daily commute more interesting. While the 2023 GR86 really comes alive when you want to drive it like a felon with a warrant, I also love it equally as much for its ability to putter around town undisturbed. The 2.4 liter FA24 engine is zippy enough for darting through any and all traffic, plus the lightweight chassis makes me think I'm in a psuedo-Mazda Miata coupe [albeit with gobs more storage space on the inside.] I love this super quick and telepathic steering feel, too. Being 5' 6", I don't think I could ask for any more car than this. The interior has good cupholders, a glovebox big enough for a Bible, and 360° visibility. The seats themselves are supportive, snug, and easy for ingress/egress, while the bolsters aren't hyper-aggressive like the Honda Civic Type R so you won't destroy them if you're driving the car 7 days a week. At the end of the day, who has the disposable income to plunk down $75,000+ on a Porsche 718 Cayman or a Lotus Evora? Thankfully for us mere mortals who weren't born with a silver spoon in our mouths, we can take home a $30,000 GR86 and have a pure, connected, rear-wheel-drive driving experience for less than half the cost.

2026 Toyota GR86 review
The GR86, like all cars, has its positive and negatives. Background: I bought a 2026 Premium GR86 auto (despite 75% of me favoring the manual). Out the door was a bit more than 40k. GR86s are rare. It’ll be tough to get a ‘deal’ due to how few they’ll be. Expect you may have to buy one that is still in transit to the dealership. Positives of the GR86: 1. IMO, from the outside, one of the best looking sports cars on the road. 2. Exclusivity, people ask what is my car. When I say GR86, common answer “huh, I’ve never heard of it”. You’ll see very few on the road. 3. Handles superbly. Hugs turns as well as any dealership sold car I’ve driven 4. For how small it is and lower the back seat, surprising truck space (for its size) 5. Inside feel to it is combo of modern day and the classic old roadster. 6, it’s not a real 4 seater but it qualifies as a 4 seater for insurance. 7. Pleasure to drive due to its light, nimble design. Seats are quite comfortable (they really keep you in place. 8. Free day at the track compliments of Toyota. Negatives of the GR86 1. It’s quicker than almost all cars on the road but it’s slower than it looks. Straight line speed is slow compared to virtually all other sports cars 2. Inside there’s some obvious corner cutting by Toyota/Sub to keep price <40k. No wireless CarPlay, dim non LED bulbs, plastic, non high resolution console display. My regret with this car is I should have been patient, waited some months, bought one with the performance package. Other than that, I love driving this car.

2024 Toyota GR86 review
Most fun you can have in an affordable two door sports car. It corners and brakes like a go-cart. Acceleration is better than I expected and running through the gears (manual trans) is exhilarating. Fun, joy are words that come to mind. Always puts a smile on my face.
