2021 Cadillac XT5 review: Our expert's take

What Is the 2021 Cadillac XT5?

The Cadillac XT5 is a mid-size luxury SUV with seating for five in two rows. It’s powered by a standard 235-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine; a 310-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 is optional. Both engines pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front- and all-wheel-drive versions are available, and competitors include the Lexus RX 350 and Audi Q5

Should I Buy the 2021 Cadillac XT5?

The XT5 is a comfortable mid-size luxury SUV, if not one of the sportier entries in the category. We like the available V-6 engine’s power, and the fact that it runs on regular gas. The XT5 isn’t as luxurious as some competitors, however, and we don’t care for its touch-sensitive climate controls.

Just gets better

This is the 2nd XT5 that we have owed. Our 2021 is a good improvement over our 2017. They have changed some things that I did not like from previous years. Overall great value!

Better reliability choices out there for less mine

While nicely appointed and a comfortable rude, this SUV has been in the shop more than my last 3 combined. Multiple CEL problems for which the big city dealer never has parts. Poor body panel alignment will cause problems with paint down the road. The brakes are terrible. Poor road feel and a reluctance to actually stop. Will look to change pads to aftermarket when its time. Quite disappointed

One of the best vehicles I have owned!

Great vehicle! Does everything well. Very nice looking ( especially when compared to like type vehicles!) interior is what you would expect of a Cadillac. Price is extremely good compared to most of imports of like type. Proud it is AMERICAN!
