Above and Beyond
November 6, 2018
I was coming to Fresno from the Bay Area for a one day visit. About 20 minutes from town my airbag light came on. Worried, I checked the handbook for what to do....The manual says 'take it in to a dealer immediately" so I called the nearest dealer... Lithia. It was a Saturday. I know that service is always busy, no, more like swamped on Saturdays so I wasn't sure there was hope for me and my little warning light. (that meant my airbags, all of them, were not non-op) But a miracle occurred. Luke said bring it in and we will check it out. He said it is a safety issue and we don't want you to be in a car that is unsafe. I was relieved and maybe a little surprised. But this is Subaru after all. The car company that puts safety first and foremost. (really, you can't blame THEM for Takata's airbag recall)
I went to the waiting room for a free cup of gourmet coffee (the coffee machine is crazy good) and a doughnut and some free wifi. I was in and out within an hour and 1/2. The problem? Too many EMF's in the front seat. (your airbag sensor goes haywire with too many laptops, cellphones nearby. Who knew?) Luke was amazing and I am so grateful for the thoughtfulness he gave to my situation. He made a last minute walk in on a busy day work. I think he is a make it happen kind of person and I know that Lithia is LUCKY to have him. Thank you again Luke.
