My last car loan was in 2004 and I wasn't looking forward to the typical dealership experience. I had heard of good experiences at Gloucester Toyota and about the people there. Search after search I kept on coming back to a Camry at Gloucester Toyota. I called and met with Tommy. Great guy!!! He thoroughly went over all the options and proceeded, after I said "I'll take it", to enter my home in the navigation system, connect and sync my phone, and answer all questions I had...even the few times I realized he had already given me that answer but Tommy always answered as though it was the first time he gave that answer. Tommy throughout the entire experience was more like a friend helping you than a salesman. This was Saturday and he texted me so I would have his cell number...just in case... Well, just in case came on Monday when I left work to go pay... I didn't see a piece of aluminum and my 2 day old car had received a flat tire...yea me... I was 5 min. from the house, so I texted Tommy letting him know I would be late as I needed to change the tire and he immediately responded telling me as soon as I would arrive he would get the tire in the shop and have the car detailed while I waited. Again, more like a friend than a salesman, he walked me through the entire process after meeting me in the parking lot when I arrived. Literally, when I turned around after getting out of the car, Tommy was 20 ft away getting things started. Here's the BIGGEST BONUS...since I got there late, by the time the car was done being detailed, the shop guys had gone home. Any other dealership, I would have had to go home and change the tire myself. NOT while Tommy was there, he drove my car into the shop and changed the tire for me. WOW!!! I was hoping to find a dealership that I and my family could continue with and I did. After Tommy was done, he came and took me out to a nicely detailed vehicle. He opened the trunk, doors, and hood. He asked if everything was okay and apologized it took some time. To explain, I took the vehicle home on Saturday not too long after the vehicle landed on the lot so they had not had time to do a thorough detailing job so Tommy promised when we next saw each other he'd make sure it would happen. Again, any other dealership, that's what they would say and then it's, "we never said that"... You know those Toyota commercials where people were jumping beside their vehicles, in my picture, I had just landed... :) I know this is getting long but I also wanted to give a big kudos to their service guys. That tire incident wasn't a simple round puncture...one that may have necessitated a new tire...ugh... Broken record but any other dealership, "hey, sorry, couldn't fix it so we need to put on a new tire"...not here, they gave it an honest attempt and it was fixed with a simple patch...phew... I wish I could remember the name of the guy in service but they were respectful, polite, and appeared genuinely happy. Every person in the waiting room was treated like Gold. Let me not forget the lady you paid, so nice and had a great personality. From the test drive to the end of this experience Gloucester Toyota's people have made me a walking billboard. You know how dealerships always put their stickers on the trunk? It's something I don't like...well, this time it's different, I'm proud to let everyone know where my Toyota came from. Tommy, if you read this to the end, thanks again!!!

When it comes to safety, reliability, value for the money, and best of all it's performance in the snow, Subaru is hands down the VERY BEST. I would challenge any other car brand to beat any of these qualities in a car . . . no matter what the price!!!

I just walked my mom through purchasing her very first new car at Casey Subaru. I was not looking forward to the experience, having purchased many vehicles over the last 30 years and never enjoying the process. Playing mind games with car salesmen is good sport when you are twenty or maybe even thirty something, but it is just a pain in the rear when you get older. Wasting large swaths of time waiting for the salesman to pretend he is working on a deal for you? No thanks! Thank goodness we were assigned Clayton Moats as our salesman at Casey Subaru. We started out on the AARP auto buying program site, typed in what we were looking for and what options we wanted, and then we submitted a request for dealers to contact us with their quotes. We very quickly received an email from Casey Subaru thanking us for considering them and assigning Clayton to us as our contact person. Clayton contacted me by email and then by phone to make an appointment for us to go to the dealership to meet with him for the purchase. I explained to Clayton that my mom is memory challenged when under stress, is a complete technophobe, gets intimidated by new things easily, and might even decide she wanted a different vehicle once she saw all the new things that she would have to get used to in the new car. Clayton assured me that he was very comfortable dealing with people with my mom's challenges, and that he had all the time we needed to explain everything to her and test drive other vehicles, if necessary. Since Clayton had her selected vehicle and the required paperwork prepped and waiting for her when we arrived, we might have been able to complete the process and transaction in about an hour. However, my mom needed several test drives of the selected car, several test drives of a different car, two separate indoctrination sessions to part of the tech used in her finally decided upon Subaru Legacy, and a wait for insurance documentation that had not been completed as promised by our insurance agent (grrr State Farm). Clayton never seemed to mind. His attitude was awesome, he was always smiling and upbeat, and he went out of his way to explain things clearly and as many times as needed to my mom. His manners were impeccable, something that you rarely find in someone of any age these days. I know car sales is a business and that these gentlemen and ladies are well trained in their jobs of selling, but all the training in the world will not provide a salesperson with the kinds of people skills that only come naturally and prevent interactions from seeming forced and fake. I hate rah, rah sales people who talk too loudly, address you as ???my dear??? when you are well past 40 years of age, and who try to avoid answering questions directly as if I am so stupid I can be mentally steered wherever they want me to go. With Clayton Moats, that dreaded type of experience will never occur. He is polite, knowledgeable, low-key but cheerful and sincere in his desire to help. It would be wise for Casey Subaru to do whatever is necessary to keep him around as their employee and not the competition???s. I would definitely buy a vehicle from him again. A shout-out must also go to Paul Clark at the dealership for being the one to provide an excellent price and assigning Clayton to us as our salesman.
