December 26,2025 (Pending Snow Storm) One of the most overused phrases from a car salesperson is : “Our Service Department is the BEST!”. A pending snowstorm, like everyone else I depend on my car too much! Unfortunately, it’s towards the end of the work day and it’s an issue I can’t avoid. We all have certain family and friends that you have on “speed dial”. This is the sentiment I hold for Jamie Nussbaum and his wonderful staff at East Hill Subaru in Roslyn, New York. I made the call and Lisette answered. She immediately understood my issue and responded, “ You know there is a snow storm coming. You need to bring your car here and we’ll take care of it”. Lisette is another example of a true professional that takes great pride in her position. I arrived and was greeted by Service Advisor Justin Peralta. He did the intake and assured me the car would be thoroughly checked out and I would be updated throughout the process. In a short period of time, Lorrie Santiago came to inform me that my car was ready. Lorrie Santiago is always congenial, professional and laser focused on the task at hand. Lorrie’s area is highly efficient, the paperwork and fob were all ready to go. Lorrie informed me of what was completed, asked if I had any questions and personally thanked me for bringing my car to East Hills Subaru. Lorrie is very proud of this organization and it shows every time! Integrity begins at the top! Jamie Nussbaum is an extremely professional individual.His affect is always pensive yet gregarious in nature. Jamie’s attention to detail is reflected in every aspect of his Service Department. The amount of pressure with work orders, pending projects, emergency customer drop-ins could make this Service Department of “FRENETIC HOT ZONE”. However, to the contrary, Jamie’s strong but calming presence guides his ship through another day of success for his entire team. Philip Saccio and Justin Peralta are top Service Advisors. I’ve been most impressed by both of these professionals. These men take their positions most seriously. The initial intakes are thorough, the process is clearly layed out with potential cost and a clear timeline is presented. Philip Saccio and Justin Peralta assure me they are dedicated to success. The man behind the curtain where all the magic happens is Sandro! I call him the “Economist-Master Technician. Sandro always has a smile along with being extremely gifted. His videos that he takes of the work he performs are extremely informative. Sandro will always give suggestions to keep my vehicle at its peak performance. Sandro’s economic background is always integrated into his technical practice. It appears Sandro’s daily mission is to be the best “Economist-Master Technician” every day. Mission Accomplished Sandro! Finally, I have to acknowledge Jamie Nussbaum. He always takes a compliment and deflects to include his team. His conversations with me always demonstrate a pride he has of everyone on his team. I understand his pride in working with these great professionals. Having purchased only new vehicles my entire life, I found myself in need of buying my girlfriend a certified used vehicle from a local Honda dealership. After the salesman ignored our desires and instead try to upsell us, however, we decided to try Carmax instead. From the start, Carmax offered a helpful hand online and friendly service over the phone: they were quickly able to find what we needed and provide attractive financing in a flash. (Thanks to you, Lesly.) Moreover, I found scheduling of a meeting to finish the deal at the dealership efficient. Once at the dealership, Haseam did well in helping us -- his knowledge and friendliness were impressive, especially since I havevworked in the service industry for many years . Because he did not try to upsell us, but rather did his best to educate us on what would work well, (coming in on his day-off to finalize the deal), I must commend Carmax and its associates for providing a memorable experience. Also, I was thankful that Dashau helped expedite the process when we completed the paperwork; what a breeze! Finally, I know I will come in buy my own used car in the future when my Honda Fit finally gives out. Thanks again, Carmax!
2019 Subaru BRZ review
I own the manual transmission and I've driven the automatic transmission. Both setups are amazing. A very lightweight sports car with incredible handling, great fuel economy, and very inexpensive to maintain. If a do-it-yourselfer buys this car, the one difficult challenge with maintenance is the removal of the 4 spark plugs. It has a boxer engine so the spark plugs mount at the side of the engine which may be difficult to get to. It has a somewhat usable back seat, I've had family and friends sit in the back and it's tight but can be managed. I also have two baby seats mounted in the back which fit perfectly. The interior size is very close to a Porsche 911 for reference. And that's basically what this car is, a budget-friendly Porsche 911. Out of the 5 sports cars that I have owned the BRZ/FRS has be the best. Better than my 2 mustangs, BMW 335i, Camero, and a 996 Porsche 911. Although it has less horsepower than all of those cars, The handling, light weightiness, and the driving characteritics more than makeup for it. I plan on keeping mine for life.

2015 Subaru BRZ review
I’ve owned multiple sports cars and this is one of the best in terms of value. It’s not the fastest in a straight line but that’s not what it’s designed for. It handles so well in the turns and is still comfortable for doing long road trips. They are super easy to modify and super easy to work on.

2022 Subaru BRZ review
The fun-to-dollar ratio is off the charts with the second-generation BRZ. The car offers tremendous handling, adequate power (a welcome upgrade from the first generation), great looks and quality fit and finish. I have the Limited edition with the upgraded interior and the seats are quite comfortable and the car is well set up for spirited driving. At this price point you aren't going to get a truly luxury interior, but the quality, appearance and comfort (but only for the front seat passengers!) that come with this car provide great value for the money. The rear seat is only suitable for carrying groceries, packages or small children. They are practically useless for holding adult passengers. Other quibbles are that the drink holders in the center console are in an awkward position and the sound system is really poor. If listening to music is an integral part of your driving experience, you will want to install an after-market system. Overall, however, this car is a home run. The driving experience takes me back to the days of the old British sports cars, but with massively improved performance, quality, comfort and reliability.

2014 Subaru BRZ review
Took a used Brz automatic for a test drive and wow. I've driven heavily modified suspension/engine cars, german cars, fast fords, lexus, nissans but xxxx. The feeling you get from this car is fantastic. Handling and steering are so good from the factory it really makes up a lot for the missing ponies. Really though, it only needs a little more power. Not a turbo or supercharger. That would only blow up the price fast. Aftermarket bolt ons would liven it up. For the price its hard to beat. Sure you can not pick it's slow. Try to find this kind of steering handling outside of Porsche prices. Consider you'll have more fun below the speed limit than most and stay out of jail at the same time. Other than this, you could buy a miata
