2018 Subaru Outback review
I bought my outback new in March 2018. After putting about 85,000 miles on it the only thing I had ever replaced for windshield tires and battery. The battery seems to go out most often every 30,000 miles or two years at about 85,000 miles we had an oil pan leak that was small but we had it repaired since it was covered under extended warranty. I’ve also had water leak into the drivers door, electronics and shorted out my driver‘s window. The Travers side seat bolster of leather, has also ripped and torn quite badly. However, I have not done a very good job at keeping it up overall it’s been a very good vehicle. Written April 5th 2026.

2017 Subaru Outback review
I went from owning a 2003 Monte Carlo SS to a 2017 Subaru Outback. It was worth every penny. My Subaru is not only reliable, functional, and cute; it also saved me from being injured in a bad crash. This past fall a six point buck hit my car head on and I never saw it coming. It was a fatal crash for the deer, but not for me. As heartbroken as I was to see my car crumpled on the front, I was so glad it wasn't me. It was a repairable fix and made me really appreciate my car.

2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class review
My independent mechanic has been servicing this car 10 years, and he told me never to sell it. It’s a solid performer, heavy yet Nimble on the road and on gas, comfortable ride. I wish it had car play, but the Bluetooth works well. 32 mpg between the Bay Area and LA, 70 mph with ac blowing cold. Love the ride. Maintenance has been predictable with no surprises. I’m currently at 111k and it runs better than when I bought it CPO 18k miles! I’m itching for a new X5 and will Have Difficulty giving this up. No major expenses so far, just routine oil, filter, plugs Tires, transmission fluid and service.

2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen review
Overall the car is good for commuting. The MPG is about 29-38 mpg averages. Takes 87-91 gas. The power is quick on start up but struggles at the higher speeds. MPG goes down of low 30s at faster freeway speeds. The car makes a weird mechanical noise at start up sounds like a vent or lever opening / closing and also another weird noise when the rear view camera opens and closes when put in reverse. I dash lights for air bag are always on in yellow and emergency lights in red. I cover with black tape case at night time these are annoying. The Day time light are always on which are annoying. It does cause a slight drain on battery and alternator. If you put your parking back on when stop the lights go off. Its a rough ride even with new tires. Its a low to ground so hard to get in and out of if your tall.

2018 RAM ProMaster City review
Need the smallest cargo van for travel. The cargo area offers huge space and the acceleration and ride are fine. Lack of road noise (on decent roads) was a pleasant surprise. I wish there was a larger center console with closable storage. Appreciate that the battery is easily accessible and there is a full size spare. Plenty of light in the cargo area. Fun to drive

I looked on line and saw a few cars I was interested in. The next weekend I drove to Colma to checked out and test drive a couple of cars. I decided to ask about Hybrids...you had 2. I test drove one of them and could not resist. I bought it. I was very impressed with the buying process. It was quick, easy and believe it or not relaxing since the sales person completed the paper work for me. Yes, I had to sign several sheets but that was a given. Something I was dreading for the past two years, was so surprisingly easy I couldn't believe it!!!

2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack review
I drove a Golf TSI for years and absolutely loved it. Never wanted drive a different car as long as Iived. Then I had a kid(which is is tight with a golf) and someone pulled out in front of me and it got totalled. I took the money and upgraded to the Alltrack because its basically the same car with more room and AWD. Absolutely love it! Gas mileage is significantly lower than my Golf, but it still has some zip. The DSG transmission is like butter. Ill drive this car into the ground.

2018 Chevrolet Bolt EV review
The Bolt is the perfect car for commuting and errands around town, particularly if you can charge at home. It is small on the outside but spacious on the inside (at least in the front seats). It is surprisingly peppy - you can easily get the tires to chirp in accelerating. On the downside, not all Bolts have DC fast charging, which would make it impractical for road trips and if you don't have home charging. Check charge port for the orange cap - that means it has DC charging. The Bolts with DC charging only charge at 55 kw, slower than most. Road trips are possible, but it will take an hour to charge every 250 miles. Overall, the Bolt is fun to drive, practical, and great value for money.

2015 Audi allroad review
I'd been eyeing the old version of the Allroad for so many years so when the new version came out, I had to have it! I can go from a business meeting, to dinner, to the mountains and the car fits the bill. The exterior design is eye catching yet not too flashy. It's sophisticated but yet rugged enough so that you don't worry about getting it dirty on dirt roads because once you hose it down, it'll look like a million bucks again. Power and handling are superior to my wife's Subaru Outback. You can drive it like a sports sedan through canyons and power up mountains with ease. I can fit my road bike w/ only 1 seat folded down, leaving plenty of room for a 3rd person and all our gear. Only issue I have (much like the cars.com reviewer) is with the MMI interface. I feel that BMW's interface was much easier and intuitive. Changing radio stations requires you to look at the screen, therefore taking eyes off road. In addition, changing the fan speed on the air conditioning requires 2 different motions instead of a quick turn of the knob like other cars. 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV review
I've only had my Bolt LT for about a month, but I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase. It's a 2019 with less than 25,000 miles on it. It set me back $18.5k, but between rebates from Edison and federal tax credits I'm only out $13.5k. On top of that, because of the battery recall, it's got a brand-new battery (the part of an ev that wears out.) The Bolt is an awesome vehicle. It's small on the outside but large on the inside. I'm over 6 feet tall and I've got plenty of head and leg room. Most importantly, there's room in the cargo area for my 80 lb. Mastiff mix. If she's happy, I'm happy. The car is quiet and fast (0-60 under 7 seconds!). Visibility looking out is fantastic. I love the low beltline and large windows. The A.C. blows really cool- a definite plus living in Southern California. I had read a number of consumer reviews that complained about seat comfort. For me, it's not an issue, the seats are fine. Likewise, a number of reviewers had issue with the stock stereo system. Again, for me, the stereo sounds great. Of course, because it's electric, I won't miss paying $5+ a gallon for gas or waiting in line to pay for an oil change ever again.

2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen review
We purchased a used TDI with 50K miles. now has over 150K and have only done oil changes and fuel filter. Only necessary repair was the HVAC blower motor just recently failed. Incredibly reliable car. Diesel engine paired with the 6 speed automatic trans delivers awesome torque whenever you need it. 50+ mpg on hwy trips and averaging 39 mpg commuting. The interior is obviously not luxurious but comfortable enough to keep you happy. I should mention the Stereo system and bluetooth is unreliable. Powers itself on and off at random and will require repair. The cargo area is surprisingly large when the seats are folded down as well.

2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack review
Love my Alltrack! While snug, it is a compact, its well oriented, and fun to drive. I have the sky roof option, and love it. Typical German engineering, simple on the frills, but great performance. Plenty of room in the trunk area for most anything. Visually a great looking car, inside and out. Outstanding gas mileage, and it'll even teach you to get the most out of it mileage wise.

I bought a 2019 F150 Raptor at Elite Motor Cars a few weeks ago and after driving home I read online that there was a nationwide service for the truck that affected the performance. Unfortunately the service expired in 2023. I didn't call at first because I did not want to hassle anybody since it was already almost 2025. I finally called and spoke to Robert the sales rep that sold me my truck and informed him of the situation. Robert told me that he would speak to the owner Alex and get back to me. Literally 30 mins later, I received a call back and information that I had an appointment at the nearby Ford dealership a few days later and the service would be completed. These guys are awesome! That's going way beyond normal customer service, taking the time to assist someone after weeks from the purchase. I highly recommend Elite Motor Cars and would do business with them again. Auto Paddock is a breath of fresh air in the car-shopping space. It's casual, relaxed and personal -- very much like dealing with a private-party -- but it has the inventory, information and facilities of a dealership, all without any pressure or sales xx. Some big plusses of Auto Paddock: * very cool, knowledgeable, straightforward owners * nice inventory with many rarer-spec, enthusiast cars * reasonable prices better than the competition for similar models * low-stress vibe Since they're local to me, I visited them 3 times as I was considering a 911 they had for sale. Initially, the car wasn't ready because they had just gotten it in. The tires were too worn to do a proper test-drive but Sheldon (one of the owners) was completely accommodating and let me check it out on the lot. He also went over the things they found during intake of the car and outlined the maintenance they planned to perform to bring it up to spec. When it was ready, Sheldon let me test-drive the car on two different occasions because he wanted to have the PDK recalibrated (shifting was a little wonky on the first drive). He never displayed any pushiness or expectations, even letting me test-drive alone which allowed me to get a good feel for the car. It was almost like being with a fellow enthusiast at Cars and Coffee that was planning to sell their car and we were just hanging out trying to determine if this was the right fit. I really loved the car and was very close to buying it. But during the time it was receiving PDK recalibration, another 911 came along of a similar spec but rarer color combo with lower mileage. So I ultimately bought that one instead. But because of the excellent experience I had with Sheldon, I was torn and it was difficult to pass on their 911. I would highly recommend Auto Paddock. Sheldon and Tony (F & I person) were excellent to deal with. And although I didn't end up buying their 911, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in the future, perhaps on a trade or maybe if they get in an F80 M3 that I like. Go check them out because they're awesome and have really differentiated themselves in the car-buying space.
2006 Jaguar X-Type review
I have owned 4 of these X-TYPE Jaguars. Never had any trouble with them and they have been great winter cars! All wheel drive is the best out there. Easy to service and take care of.

2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack review
We bought a used 2019 a month ago. I wasn't aware of these. As I researched a replacement for my wife's GMC Terrain, I learned about all of the bad CVT transmissions and oil burning engines in that class. Happened on a used Alltrack for sale at a dealer and as I researched the dsg transmission and looked up reviews - I was pretty excited by what I read. We have taken in on one 6-hour trip through the mountains and several 3-hour family visits. I love driving it. Probably my favorite car I have driven other than my old 2000 Volvo S70. It seems to be very well built. It is insanely quiet on the road and it has great acceleration. We travel with two kids and two dogs and it zips right up mountain passes, rarely cracking 3k rpm. I wish we had about 2 more inches in the trunk for our kennel, but it is a large space. I am anxious to try the AWD in some Montana snow this winter. Sadly its my wife's driver, but I get to drive it on trip!
